"If you have come across my video somewhere in your RU-vid feed, you've already watched all those other ridgeline videos..." ...Yup. Still appreciated the presentation and the fact that you're not talking about the other 12 ways of doing the same thing.
Rheumatoid arthritic, me, with hands that resemble bird claws, even on good days, so knots and hitches can prove difficult on a bad day. Toggles work fine for me and ready-set Prussics are the route I chose some years back. Thanks for uploading!
Using duffle coat toggles, I've been setting up a ridgeline just like yours since 1978!!! The YT algorithm has been showing me ridgeline vids for weeks. They all seem so complicated. I use another ridgeline with the toggle knotted to the loose end of a bowline. Like the marlin spike method my grandfather used. Good vid. Thank you. EDIT: I've just seen you use that method near the end of the video. LOL.
Great video !!! It's great to share what you have made, so that the "regular joe" can feel comfortable with trying your ideas. Keep up the great work !!!
Stigmata made me laugh 😂 the ground here in MICHIGAN is soft I generally use my boot bottom to push them in. And a toggle to pull the stakes out. Good video thanks for sharing big thumbs up.
Ok,,, I lost it with the "Hot pocket" comment. lol I use the same initial setup. I have a toggle attached to an extended tag on my bowline. No chasing it down the line. It's always right there.
I have been watching on my tablet which I can't make comments on for some reason, but I switched to my phone so I could comment,it's pretty cool the different toggles you ca.e up with for different situations ,I just wanted to say that I enjoyed it.
I use a Double Dragon knot instead of a Bowline for the anchor end. I have a PEX pipe toggle tied to the tail of the DD knot for a drop in toggle similar to what your old setup had.
They are 1/2" Inch (12.7mm) in diameter. Just little round black end caps. The brand is Prescott or Prescott Plastics or something similar. I got them on Amazona while back. They came in a pack of 20-25 or so. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
