I appreciate these useful ideas for using up pattered paper! I find the more I do cards, the more I realize I like the CAS look; however, in the interest of using what I have, I recognize I have items that aren’t “commonly” used in this method. Thank you for showing alternatives!

Another great tip…..My Mother and grandmother collected buttons from as far back as I can remember. (70 odd years) We used to play cards and use them as money. I have at least 100 metal ones, of which I couldn’t bring myself to throw away……Now I have a use for them, thank you for sharing Christine. 🦋xxx

Your story of glue sticks is common in my house. I have a box of googly eyes. Never really used them but keep them ‘just in case’. Mum gave me more from her stash and I wasn’t sure where they were so I decided to give my craft room a really good clean and sort out. I labeled everything and was smug in thinking I’d done a good job. 6 months later the 4 year old grandson came over to paint rocks and had expressed a wish to put eyes on them. Do you think I could find them………….i did eventually…… a week later 😂😂

I'm always learning and shows that even without the envelope liner even the smallest pieces can make a lovely card. Thank you once again, I've absolutely loads of paper. Some many years old,some I just can't part with, but I might be enticed using just 3/4 inch

This blue striped paper is perfect as it is elegant without being pretty pretty, and it looks great used for the inside of the envelope and also for these seals but using the paper and hot glue instead of the wax, something we could all give a try to, as you said you can use a button with a shank instead of the seal. I love the die cut pattern in a strip down the card and the three seals look wonderful over the top..especially wioth the gold wax applied around the edge, and a lovely 'Hello' also gold embossed to finish. x

How amazing, l have sooo much patterned paper, reams of the stuff 😂. When you said you were going to make seal, l thought well this l have to see as l thought you meant the animal🦭 😂 silly me. Love the little buttons though. Great idea. I'm going to be sitting for a week when I've finished this decorating trying all these things out. I'm going to make the circle birds for a card l need in a hurry. Maybe make it tonight or tomorrow. 🤭

That wax must have been feeling very lonely recently. It's been a minute since I've seen you use it. Usually it's daily. 😆 Lovely card once again. I caught the wax seal bug but mostly use them on the cards themselves as even when I have my mail hand canceled, I'm not totally sure the seals on the outside will get there in one piece.

just a thought: if the recipient slits the envelope open at folding line - the lining isn't stuck stuck down there and might be flapping loosely

I don’t expect they would keep the envelope anyway. It’s difficult to stick both parts and have the envelope open and close effectively.

Another great video! I love that background strip die and will have to keep an eye out for it. Your card and envelope turned out wonderfully and has a classic elegance I like. I'm in the deep south of the US and worry about the heat and humidity causing the hot glue seals to get tacky/sticky during the mailing process. If any other viewers have tried this in hot environments, can they let me know how it fared? In the meantime, I will definitely be trying this for a hand delivered card. Much thanks! 🩷

Another use for the essential oil , great . It’s on my shopping list for tomorrow so when doing Christmas cards with mirror card I’ll have it ready . Did the gilding wax not come off on your fingers when it had dried ? I’ve got some but rarely use it . The gold glue rings look great tho . Must try this with buttons .

Sealing wax doesn’t show the paper beneath, but I have done lots of hot wax seals

I don’t think glue sticks would work. You need hot glue or wax for this technique!
