The vertical carrying position makes me uneasy about packing soupy foods in a common container unless I have a specialized leak proof container for it. I opted for the Yeti Daytrip Lunch bag instead
I agree 95% of my lunches for work are soups or stews or something liquid based that I use a Rubbermaid container and a vertical carry handle wouldn’t work for me either I always get a lunch bag with a horizontal flat carry where the handle is on the lid and also has a vertical handle so if one day I decide to have a sandwich I would carry it vertical
I bought one, The box isn't very big. Unless you're packing just what he showed you're not getting much in there. Yeti ice blocks are garbage don't waste your money. The blocks take up too much room in this small lunch box. You're better off using Freeze Pak pouches and keeping the lunch box in the refrigerator to maintain the cooling effect when you take it out. Its not very big and the features don't constitute $80 purchase price. If you buy one you'll have buyers remorse when you try to pack it. I do not recommend this expensive piece of trash.
In my opinion, they're worth the money. Very well constructed and the size makes it very convenient for work and/or short day trips. As for the cost. It's not a rare item I just think it's the price point that Yeti decided on.
I have a bunch of YETI products, but this is the BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER!....... It is crazy how people go nuts for a brand, and then are even more willing to purchase the more expensive it gets. This probably costs $5 USD to produce in China. And if it is made in the US then $20...... Damn super over expensive!!!!!
