Ever since giving Digimon TCG a shot, I can say that I'm a huge fan of most of the game's design. The memory gauge often gets brought up, but people never bring up how fun it is to draw from your deck with every digievolution. It's basically like having a T.G. Hyper Librarian activate on every one of your summons or every evolution to have a Stardust Charge Warrior effect - but because of the memory gauge you still have to play your cards efficiently.

No way. It's so cool he's doing multiple of these. It's great exposure for the game! Glad Taste of Victory's vid was fun enough that he wanted to do more and it encouraged you to reach out.

I follow MBT (since i also play yugioh) and having this interaction of youtubers for their respective card game is awesome, i hope we can see more in the future.

I’d disagree with takato being a bad card, saying it’s unplayable in anything other than gallantmon is like complaining that drytrons don’t work in any decks other than rituals. It’s pretty redundant because it was designed purely for the gallantmon deck, and is exactly what that deck needed considering their best effects are “when attacking”. It may not be the top tier deck, but it’s definitely not bad by any means, especially when the dragons roar set comes out.

I mean I wouldn’t judge a card as bad if it wasn’t generic enough, Jetsilphy for example is an amazing card but only in YH. Same thing with Takato, he’s an insane tamer for his archetype. Imagine giving your entire LV4-LV7 line Blitz. No other deck has access to that. If Takato was generic he’d be straight down busted.

MBT is really making a few cameos in Digimon channel recently.

This was a very fun video and would love to see more content like this with other TCGs like Vanguard

I really liked the video, but I would to recommend some changes to the layout as someone who watches RU-vid on mobile/tablet and was playing along with Joseph. (Also not sure if someone already mentioned these things.) I don't really like how the sword is in the middle of the screen, between either Mbt and the card or the two cards when explaining why a card is good/bad. The sword feels very intrusive to the video. I think like it could have been either near the top of the screen or on the bottom, to the right of the score. To add on to the previous point, I feel like there is a lot of empty space, this is mostly due to the middle of the screen being taken up by the sword. I'd recommend having the cards closer to each other in the middle of the screen and having the explanation text above them, so it feels less empty. The cards should be a little bigger so that it's easier to read. As someone who was also playing, having the cards be slightly bigger would have been great. This might seem contradictory to what I said right before this, but the printed text feels unnecessary big when compared to the card text and Mbt. The large font size makes it harder to focus on Mbt and the card I'm trying to read, because of how difficult it is to ignore. I feel like the right size would be around 66% of what it is now. These are just my personal opinions and things I wanted to point out.

It's always interesting seeing veteran players looking into new TCGs while trying to figure out what cards are good, and what cards are bad haha!

Great concept, I loved the video taste of victory put out a couple days ago, would have loved some foresight on your part to at least not use duplicate cards. Feels like a waste of viewers and MBT’s time!

My only complain is that you bash on cards like in the Gallantmon and Skullgreymon case just because of the playstyle The playstyle of the deck is not what it makes it bad, is the lack of support that allows that style to shine that is holding it back, and I hate you went for that route because players like Mbt are gonna look at this cards and go "Oh, it does X? Welp is not worth my atention" missing the chance of finding a new cool thing to play Other than that I liked the video a lot had tons of fun mate

Found this vid due to MBT. Not too sure on the Digimon TCG but as someone who watched the show since childhood and played Cybersleuth and Survive recently, suscribed to see future content.

I think the Takato one is a bit misleading. Even if the gallantmon deck isn’t great Takato is a great card for that strategy, and without understanding that the archetype wants to both attack really fast and destroy enemy digimon to trigger effects, you can’t really evaluate it properly. If you don’t know what a growlmon or gallantmon does, you can’t picture it’s use. So even if the deck isn’t good, the answer given comes from a lack of understanding of what it tries to do, which I can’t really judge MBT for.

I have to say you surprised me on your takato take. That card is fantastic, being able to blitz on your stack lvl4-7 is busted and Guilmon line tends to gain effects off of not deleting something too. Its only "issue" is that there's no protection and the top tier decks or too fast or busted. But it certainly isn't bad.

Vilemon is pretty good in purple sometimes. With purple playing level 4 and lower, getting them out there can save you some security in early game, and draws the target of deletion effects from your other Digimon

Purple blockers are good cuz can be played for free and help to not die by random hybrids after dealing with a Big board at low health

I like the concept but I dont think that your answers are right Takato is a tamer that makes Gallantmon playable, without blitz and +1 memory by killing you cant play gallantmon. The deck still isnt good, but the tamer is one of the best cards in the deck Same for Vilemon, Blockers die easily but Vilemon sees a lot of plays in Beelstarmon and saves your life in this deck really really often. So the card is not the best, but not the mention that it sees a lot of play in a meta relevant deck is not that cool

It's interesting how the game has changed since the creation of this. Discarding cards is a POWERFUL mechanic, Takato is soon to be a key piece in the Bt12 Gallant Deck, Vilemon and cheap blockers in general have great utility in things like Merva and Beelstar. Very neat.

New player here who started last month (january) and will give my takes on cards. first one seemed allright not really good but the digivolve into level 4 for 1 seemed pretty good probably wont see any play anymore but could have been quite good back then. second Takato maybe i am a bit based but its a must have card for a gallantmon deck and even if its not a staple its pretty a good card since he is just a must have card there (i play gallantmon) the thhird one is a probably pretty good in alot of decks reaching a level 7 for basicly free can be huge even if i havent seen it beeing played yet. 4th seems decent trashing cards is pretty good for a few situations not sure how usefull it ends up beeing since i havent played much against purple. 5th should be allright in tamer heavy decks to sneek in a finishers lobomon is pretty good for that reason i just dont know if black decks support that kinda playstyle. 6th is intresting 6kDP seems pretty high for a level 4 and the when attacking effect dosent seem to be that meaningfull since blockers are usually only used to block aand attack for game so i would say its a decent level 4 but nothing more it just hard to give it more credits with so much removal for free 7th BWG is just way too strong 8th ice wall is busted usually its played to set your enemy on 1 memory and even if they got a memory tamer you are stuck at 3 which just allows you to attack twice if you wont digivolve which basicly makes the enemy lose a turn. 9th its a gamewin in 90% of the times it gets played 10th mimi is busted i am still traumatized from bloomlordemon had to play againtst it twice in a row last week

I have to say the real MVP of this video was the card choice. Normally this type of video is stuffed with "gotcha" cards that are good only because they have a specific combo piece that wasn't being shown (DPE/Dragoon without fuse from deck, Colossus Hammer without ignoring equip cost, etc) I greatly appreciate the cards here being ones that you can mostly judge correctly without context of specific combo pieces.

I have to disagree with skullgreymon's evaluation. You can easily discard it, slap it under a rookie and have the rookie crash into a big stack. You plus 90% of the time from on deletion in purple. Purple toolbox is the only deck that takes advantage of cards having a wide pool of tools while being the only deck that consistently draws and discards, with trash recovery. You cannot measure purple cards to other colors' standards. You also cannot blanket consider cards being good/bad cards outside their respective archetypes/decks.

Just started watching, but I will say I disagree with the Takato opinion. Takato is an amazing card for an Archetype thats just rogue playable. The deck itself can definitely take games off top decks, but just isn't quite there. This is a card that can definitely rise in importance depending on support.
