+Jeremy Prinzen To be fair Yu-Gi-Oh as it is right now is a highly competitive card game for young adults mostly in their twenties. Little kids have no chance of even learning the rules anymore. Its also better this way.

Black magic is considered evil magic. Since the Dark Magician wasn’t evil, it made sense. In the 4kids version, his brother disappeared, another easy way of trying to censor death. Especially because the shadow realm would not make sense here.
They changed Black Hole to Dark Hole in translation as well. Even though you literally call the phenomenon a black hole in real science. The translators much really hate black things.

But at least now I know where his hatred against Kaiba Corp Helicopters comes from. That was a little confusing during their later duell, when KC helicopters appeared to rescue Kaiba he got totally angry and said shit like "You are like your stepfather! How dare you using Helicopters! That makes you EVIL!" And I was like "WTF? Why is using helicopters so bad?"
it took me 7 years of rewatching ygotas monthly, to just now realize that the "as pharao I created the original bridge" was a reference to the "Abridged" format.. damn.
I just realised that Alister has the same motivation as Pietro and Wanda in Avengers 2. Their nondescript country was in some sort of nonspecific conflict, so years later they want to enact revenge on the guy who currently runs the company that may have manufactured one of the bombs as opposed to whoever was using them. :P
