I had to locate the sub of this episode to see if the Japanese in the actual original version was really that awesome and over the top, and I was delighted to see that it indeed was.
I thought Breaker had 1900 atk which would make his atk 1600 after using the counter which there made it illegal to use beserket soul. Whatever tho, they have bullshit main character powers.
I would've liked having Joey as the main hero of this storyline, or Kaiba, or any of the major players who weren't Yugi, honestly. Because if you're going to have so much filler just use it to give other characters the spotlight for once, otherwise it truly is a waste of time to sit through. That's why I like the Garlic Jr. Saga despite it's many, many, many flaws.

12:00 this gets a lot dark when you remember that the pharaoh is so connected to his deck he can will the cards he draws, which is the most bullshit superpower anyone could get... It took Ishizu like a hundred episodes to tell us that.
@@manolgeorgiev9664 Not Yugi, Atem. He cheats in every duel. Every Yu-Gi-Oh! protagonist cheats though. They can either draw the card they want to draw, or create the card they need to win. Or in the case of Yuya, create an entire new card type and summoning mechanic on the fly.

that's the point..lk was on point with his voice acting in this episode....tea was performed so great weevil was voiced great....rex's voice was great and pharoh was perfect in how he has a mototone voice and changes his feelings in this episode and he changed his voice slightly to make it sound less smart ass and more calm. and reflective.....the sarcasm in lks performances made this episode the funniest since early season 2....
It's almost like we completely forgot how contrived the humor and writing was for a brief moment. The best kind of acting does that. Magic acting. From magic laang

But for every series I would say Yes depending on the situation since brainwashing shouldn't be too simple to snap out of by telling them " oh remember us we used to be friends and shit lol" so yeah The power of friendship/love could be considered part of those bullshit main character powers.

By the way, I like that they call him "The Pharaoh". It's also...strangely de-humanizing considering his circumstances. Which is extra fitting since they're all assholes.
I don't believe Atem's name had been revealed yet at this point. "The pharaoh" was the closest thing they had and that's an upgrade from just "Yami Yugi", since it shows that he's not just a darker side of Yugi as he and the others had thought, he's a whole separate person.
Can we take a second to appreciate that someone (probably LK) thought of Darts multicolour-changing hair and then was probably so annoyed by editing that that they just stopped doing it and wrote it off as hair dye? Because I love that
Just came here to say Mushroom Man is now seeing competitive play in Japan I'm not kidding. It hasn't topped a YCS or anything big like that, but it did come 3rd at a formal event

Specifically, it was Mushroom Man #2, and it was used for the mirror match so the opponent can't Special Summon their Kashtiras (since you need to control no monsters), and it triggers your own Kashtiras (particularly Unicorn) since it has a mandatory effect during the Standby Phase

@dayzgone It's literally how Californian public transit is. A leaf fell on the tracks? Yeah, that's a solid delay. Pebbles on the road? The bus is now 45 minutes late. Sometimes, there isn't even an actual reason, but BART is now 15 minutes late. Like, let me put it this way: I found English public transit to be good, clean, and reliable. I was actually shocked when people complained about it. I mean, bus stops actually attract buses! Train stations are laid out intuitively! The Tube isn't laden with mystery fluids, litter, and the vague smell of piss and weed!
