Episode 86 of LittleKuriboh's Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged Series entitled "Joey vs The Volcano" PATREON - / littlekuriboh ALSO STARRING: Erika Harlacher-Stone as Rebecca Hawkins Scott Frerichs as Gozaburo Kaiba
That absolute deep cut from Sasuke. I genuinely love that you have kept your writing style for this show relatively unchanged all these years. I laughed so hard at this. This show is a time capsule for a bygone era of internet humor.
Ah yes, Joey, going from basically beating Marik, to strategically stalling to avoid literally killing mai to beating Solomon Muto to getting torn to shreds by a pegasus knockoff that is basically using custom cards What a graceful line of progression
In yu-gi-oh! R, his final duel was against a revived Bandit Keith who was forced to play a boss monster that didn't fit his machine deck. (That duel was more treated as a comparison to how far Jounouchi had gone in terms of skill, beating a card that is at least on equal level with the god cards)
@@oxcare5 agreed but let’s not forget Mai pretty much dominated him as well but Marik again had plot armour also Odion dominated Joey in the fight and lost because of BS
YGOTAS feels like a relic of a youtube that no longer exists. There's barely any promotion for these videos, a lot of them don't get monetized, no ads or sponsors every 5 minutes, etc. Literally just a guy and his friends making funny, creative content for the hell of it. He uploads it when it's finished, and always delivers.
It really feels like RU-vid just isn't for it's viewers anymore or it's content creators. Even YGOTAS is in a constant fight (me over here crying over the death of sexy back playing for Duke). Google refuses to protect it's users and content creators and instead is just chasing ad revenue and screwing everyone over creating a toxic environment.
Five Nights at Freddy's is a game series that has that early internet magic. Since Scott isn't a stuck-up about his IP the fans are allowed to make their own spinoffs, videos, songs, etc.
"nobody understands my pain" YAY it's the greatest cameo ever. Please make more Ninjabridge! I can handle 10 years between episodes. We love you Martin
People Kaiba Hates in Order of Most to Least Hated: 1: Sherlock Holmes (that motherfucker) 2: Whoever Hacked His Tournament (AND His Birthday!) (a true mystery) 3: Pink Pegasus Ripoff (whoever that is, certainly not the same guy) 4: Joey Wheeler
@@pokedude720 It's not so much a nickname as it is a joke kids repeat. Since everyone they watch says "Chat" it's not too surprising, kids have always copied what they hear.
LK Acknowledged that it was shitty that the last duel Joey ever got was a loss to set up the villain (who Yugi never even duels) and so he had Kaiba acknowledge him and his skills, perfect fan work
The fact this series started before streaming was a thing amazes me. You could watch the entire show as an internet time capsule for nerd culture with multiple episodes perfectly encapsulating the culture of the time. I only now after watching this when I was in high school and it had 4 episodes realise what Little Kuriboh has made
which is funny because the joey deck you get from one of the legendary duelist sets is actually quite good (atleast compared to most decks in the anime) if only they let joey have summoned skull
Joey isn't a bad duelist. He came a long way over the course of the show. The problem is that his deck relies on luck too much. As we saw in the duel against his member of The Big 5, if Joey's luck is bad, his deck falls apart. The only reason he won so many duels is because of the writers making him unnaturally lucky.
Every time I think YGOTAS will just disappear from existence, Little Kuriboh comes out of nowhere with another banger. Although at this rate the final few episodes are gonna sound like every character is grandpa Moto. 😂
This series helped me get through my transition from living at home with my parents to finally living on my own in my first apartment. Was it lonely? Yes. Was I a bit scared? Yes. Did this series help me get through it? *_Yes._*
Well according to his other videos he seem to suffer from physical and personal problems in last few years so he probably doesn’t had much time to make another episode
@@chimera9818Martin has a lot of shit going on, and I’m pretty sure 99% of YGOTAS is done by him, so it affects how long the episodes take by a lot. Which is why we should treasure every one we get.
The ending bit with Kaiba and Mokuba? Oh man, I really loved that. It just felt so nice to hear Kaiba say some good stuff about Joey, and Mokuba encourage him.
Reminds me of that short clip in Jacksepticeye's funniest videos compilation of the black guy playing Yu-Gi-Oh who mimics the sound of the life points meter running down and the guy next to him losing his shit over it.
Dude, this episode was absolutely*stacked* with good jokes. Joey's crappy deck, random hatred of Sherlock Holmes from Kaiba, people still being trapped in the stadium, everything Pegasus 2.0 said, the Sasuke reference! My favorite might be the chair gag though. So simple, but that pause in the middle of a conversation and focusing only on his chair is such a dick move and so funny 😂😂
I’m really so thankful that we still get these 18 years later. I started watching this in high school and here I am, a newly turned 34 year old woman and I STILL love these episodes. The world doesn’t deserve Little Kuriboh, but I’m so happy he’s here anyway. Much love, always. 🙏🏽🧡
Kaiba being pissed that Sherlock Holmes is public domain and the right can’t be purchased is one of the most capitalist things he’s ever said, and Kaiba’s said “screw the rules, I have money.”
“I can feel your nipples through your jacket you’re so tense!” Caught me so off guard you don’t understand, I had to rewind to be sure I heard it right. What a great episode, it just gets better and better lol
"Seriously what is wrong with your deck" I cannot believe after all of these years, Tristan finally said something sensible for once. Talk about character growth lol
Hearing "Puppyshipping" at 2:47 threw me all the way back into the 2000s and early 2010s, just to get blasted with "chat" not even a minute later at 3:25 in a show that's 20 years old gave me an insane internet culture whiplash I didn't know I could have
im kinda liking the anachronistic vibes. you earn that by running the same show for almost 2 decades. heres hoping the twitch jokes wont be outdated by the time we get to the final arc.
@@hatster401 Remember when they were fighting the Big 5 and the one with the Jinzo avatar was doing meme references? Pepperidge Farm remembers ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The most insane thing this show has ever done is trying to convince me that Kaiba does his own laundry. This is when reality was thrown out the window.
These characters started as mere parodies but they really have grown beyond catchphrases into actually kind of wholesome characters. Last season's Pharaoh reflecting on his character was a lot more impactful than canon because he did start off as a horrible (but hilarious) person. This episode having Kaiba compliment Joey's skills and even Joey making allowances for Kaiba to insult him is also touching because of how their earlier rivalry was shaped in this abridged series. Maybe it's just nostalgia since I've been a fan of YGOTAS since my middle school days, but this series has made me feel a lot I didn't expect. It started as a "looking for random abridged series because boredom" and has become something meaningful to me. Thank you LittleKuriboh.
@@theshlaufI had to double check as I didn't see all the Yu-Gi-Oh episodes. Yep. What the f**k. Also Yu-Gi-Oh gave Joey the card he got from the last arc, hermos or whatever. Joey became a good duelist, nearly defeating Marik if it wasn't for his body giving out but they just haddddd to ruin it.
LittleKuriboh has not lost his fastball. This was fantastic. I've been waiting some 20 years to see that Kaiba vs. Pegasus knockoff match. I hope it's as funny as I hope.
It is still so great that Martin is producing YGO Abridged. I know he has been having lots of health issues and so it’s really nice that he has not abandoned it even if it’s just one episode a year. And even with these big gaps, it is still as funny and clever as ever.
@@DPedroBoh It's a reference to the naruto spoof series littlekuriboh did a long time ago. basically anytime sasuke had an inner monologue he'd do that for the joke.
LK has peppered some genuinely good disses and lines into this abridged series. Even if the villains are goofy and unthreatening, they sometimes just get really fire lines that make them cool.
There's two ironic things about this whole situation. 1. Kaiba still doesn't believe in magic because that would be the only reason why he hasn't lead his company to bankruptcy with his dumb decisions. 2. Everyone trying to sabotage/take control of his Kaiba even though we seen that if Kaiba will probably do it himself, again, because he makes dumb decisions.
cant believe i'm 33 and im still watching this series 18 years later! long live yugheyoh, long live little kuriboh, still making me giggle also tea's "yugi, explain-" said desperately made me spit my drink
@@SiRenfieldYa we still have one kidnapping left, Kaiba is so stubborn this is the only way to drive the plot forward. But did the fillers need to have that too? lol Why not kidnap Kisara or a blue eyes card. That's equally as valuable. Edit: oh crap I forgot his blue eyes cards were held hostage by both Pegasus and the clown in season one. Kisara also got kidnapped by his father and by slave traders. Clearly she occupied Mokuba's position in the past. I hope there's a call back to this, "weiiiird why is this so familiar?"
@@user-zn4sr1ll1c I think there’s been a minor misunderstanding, my last comment was alluding to how Molina was kidnapped by Bakura Or maybe I’m confused myself? IDK
LK: I understand you've had a tough few years lately. That makes this video and those to come have greater meaning and value for us. Thank you very much for this phenomenal video. I laughed like crazy... as always
LittleKuriboh will never understand the pain of having watched new Yugioh Abridged, enjoying every second of it, just to realize it has ended and there's more waiting for next one. Daaamn youuu Little Kuriboh. I will get you back. Somehowwwww.
Little Kuribo, you always manage to drop these when I’m going through something hard in my life. Always picking me up when I’m feeling down, thank you very much for what you do.
WOW. This episode ended up in my recs when it was uploaded, and I was hit with a wave of nostalgia back to 2009 when I was 17 and my friends and I would watch all the Team 4Star stuff after school. We were always partial to YGOTAS, though, and I just spent the last ten days watching all 86 episodes. It was so weird how much of the early ones I could still quote almost word-for-word, even though it’s been 15 years. I haven’t talked to some of those friends in nearly a decade, but watching this has made me decide to reach out to them. Thank you, this has been a huge surprise and a treat to see LK’s still at it after all these years!
This is truly a work of passion, the man get little thanks to rag on show that is literally 23 years old. Yet he comes back episode after episode. A True RU-vid Legend.
Considering he abridged Capsule Monsters, I don't see why would he skip this one. I'm just glad he's still doing this. It's nice how it just pops into my feed when I least expect it.
@@kaneki0468 And the main villain is a hacker whose main target is Seto Kaiba. Given our experience with Seto as a character, he was screwed the moment he stepped in.
You can always tell Little Kuriboh is learning more and more about yugioh by the types of jokes he makes. First it was the GY, then it was chain links, and now Maxx C
@@Rhino-n-Chips I mean to be fair Joey is canonically really poor so he has to deck build with what ever trash he gets out of boosters. And that in a world were certain tournament legal super powerful cards are being printed in the single digits to make them hyper valuable chase cards. Its like back in the early real world were certain Tournament price cards were to rare and powerful that only those that won the past tournaments had a chance in the current ones.
It's been nearly 20 years since Yu-Gi-Oh abridged started and Kaiba finally showing some form of respect to Joey feels like genuine character development
