My son-in-law works in the building trade in the U.K..and sometimes clients don't pay, but there they have the small claims court which is quite effective. I live in France - here there is a requirement for a fixed rate deposit against a signed and accepted quote, and quotes are legally binding on both sides. When the work is done, the client must sign then and there to say so. Not perfect but better than nothing. My mum always said that rich people didn't get rich by taking their wallets out. He won’t mention that many of those people left when he was there for just a few hours; all he does is lie. The weather was dreary ; not exactly a good day for the beach.
