In this video Floaty unboxes and reviews the new ATS886-RTP thermal tattoo stencil printer. It has 50% higher resolution than the previous 886!
PLEASE READ THIS!!! I will be making another video on this stencil machine, I didn't really understand how it works here with the ribbon system that has its own thermal ink which I took out early on in the video. It turns out this printer can print a stencil in high resolution on almost any sort of paper. The ink is a lighter magenta color than normal stencil ink which has better contrast to black which is great, it also stays on the skin REALLY WELL, like it is almost hard to get off the skin if you let it set for more than 2 minutes. If you are interested in a HIGH RESOLUTION stencil printer for realism, portrait or very fine line work I highly recommend this one.

It turns out this printer can print a stencil in high resolution on almost any sort of paper. So this product is exactly the same as the original you showcased, the ats 886 is not compatible with spirit paper. Why would they make one compatible and other not so, makes 0 sense to me. I’ve wasted a great deal of time on this 😅

I have never had any issues with spirit paper and the original 886, I have been using spirit paper with the original 886 since getting it almost 1 year ago.

Can you make another video for this printer? I got it and i dont really understand how to use with yellow paper on the Spirit paper

Yes I will be making another video for the printer, it may be a few weeks. You should use the yellow as the backing, the print should come out on the white side. Do not remove the ribbon like I do in this video, use the ribbon inside the printer to print on the white side of the spirit paper. Hopefully that helps.

Only their paper works, thats a no go for me, i want to use Electrum paper which stays on the skin the best, base version works with every paper right? I already ordered but dont have it yet.

Alright, I have the ink in tattoo pen for lining I use 7 volts, but for shading I don't know what to use, because I'm still learning how to shade

Would it work if you left the yellow paper on the spirit?

Yes actually it does work leaving the yellow paper on and the thermal ribbon in. I will be doing a major follow up video on how this printer works since I have gotten it to work much better with ANY stencil paper, even just plain tracing paper, leaving both the yellow and inner paper works great, and the thermal ink from the ribbon system is a much better color for seeing your ink go in than the standard spirit paper. It sounds a bit confusing, but now with more testing I can say this is pretty much the best thermal printer out there, highest resolution, fastest printing.

Actually, this model's usage is no different from the old model. But what this machine wants to introduce is a new innovation: the ink cartridge that you remove in the first place. You can print stencils with plain paper and print them instantly without using thermal stencil paper.😂😂

@@FloatyTattoo Me too, i told you its a no go couse you said only their paper works, but it turns out you can use InkJet paper which i have like 450 sheets after Epson broke, i already bought base version unfortunetely, but no regrets yet couse i dont know how this ink stay on skin, if you have possibility to test it out vs thermal paper it would be cool to know which one smudge easier.

@@ripper9112 I can tell you right now the the ink stays on the skin longer and better than anything else, it was actually hard to get off the test bit I did and it had only set for 5 minutes or so. It is also a lighter shade of purple/magenta than spirit so it is easier to see ink go in over it. I’m still figuring this one out so it’s not my main printer yet, the original is still my #1 recommendation, it should work great for you.

@@FloatyTattoo Yeah, but you have comparison to Spirit and Yilong right? I got electrum paper which stays a lot better, best on the market, so i would have to see it to compare to Inkjet. And how you actually use this, i dont see cartridges to sell on their site, so what to do when you have no more ink? Please test fine line tattoos! No one likes to show most of these Chinese printers can’t print 5rl or below stencil lines.

This one can print 0803RL lines, you can see them in the more detailed stencil at the end. The previous version does 1003RL stencil lines no problem, I do a lot of very fine line tattoos, check out my IG, all of those fine line stencils were done with the original 886

@@Tattoo_Noobie this one is better for realism, I don’t use it properly in this video, you can use it with basically any paper and the ribbon ink inside of it.

@@FloatyTattoo is the normal ats not good for realism?i have a pocketjet and i hate jt,wrinkles all the time and the worst is it’s not printing fine lines at all,i don’t really care if it’s printing details i just want the fine lines as i trace my stencils anyway,and since the rtp is out of stock i ordered a normal one,will that be good for what im looking for?

I bought this printer because of your video, was waiting for it 40 days, it’s never came. They didn’t gave any documents that they send it to me even after request. I requested a refund. And now they stopped answering me. It’s a scam and they stole my money.

I'm very sorry to hear that, this doesn't seem like what I have heard from others who have had returns and refunds from Yilong with no issue. I just checked their website and it looks like they are out of stock of the RTP. After further testing I actually recommend the original 886 over the RTP, I will be putting out a comparison video very soon. You might want to ask if they can send you the original 886 instead?
