I've just discovered your channel. I never heard of Yishun, but I'm impressed by geo of this frame ;) personally, i have same issue with bike fit. I'm 5,5" but around 6,1" in reach and i have to run practically longest stems available :D
Thanks for watching! Sadly I’m not sure if Yishun is currently selling this frame directly to customers anymore. But shoot them an email if interested.
@@PatrickLino Asking them cost nothing 😉 I'm not a huge fan of the design of that bike in regards to the fork and downtube, but that geo is interesting.
Great piece. Love the Scottie Pippen drop in, classic. You are sucking me into the deep rabbit hole. I am still kicking around the idea of getting a faster bike to use along with my extremely comfortable not light Trek Domane Endurance bike. Question - if I am super busy with work / like is it worth going this route or is your Giant Propel for example a better overall value? I live very close near a Trek factory store and I can get Giant from a store closer that does my maintenance work. I am holding off a purchase until the Spring.
I'm of the mindset of spending as much you can (or want) on a frame, if it's going to be your primary road bike. The best value for bikes are not from any major brands. However, by and large major brands will perform better. And no affordable Chinese bike can replace the desire for something like a Giant Propel. Especially if that's what you "really" want.
@@PatrickLinomassive appreciation. I do think there is a good niche opportunity perhaps for a local bike shop to support the non major brands. I do not have the energy or the skills these days for the DIY. Perhaps I will see you on the roads in Chicago in the spring to pick your brain if cool, I do some of the group rides.
Got pretty much the same bike thanks to you. And it's really fast and good! I can tell that I am really excited to ride this bike everyday compared to my former bike. A couple of upgrades here and there would make this bike my go to for everything (endurance rides, cafe rides, races, climbing). Just a question tho, what would you suggest, SRAM Rival AXS or Shimano 105 Di2? I currently have LTwoo eR9. Tho the groupset is really good, I think LTWoo is not there yet compared to Shimano and SRAM. Force/Ultegra is out of the question atm because of budget
@@PatrickLino thanks Patrick! 105 di2 is now on the way from AliExpress. Got the upgrade kit for friggin' $700 lol (cranks, chain and cassette excluded since I already have them installed on my bike)
Regarding the gap between the downtube and the wheel…. Looks at the gap on a canyon aeroad, that bike tests faster than lots of other bikes with closer gaps.
Honestly it’s no different than any of the other bike brands that jacked pricing up waaaaay high during Covid. Hence all of the ultegra and mid level bikes being 8500+ now when they use to be in the 6k range. My last bike was a Winspace for that reason.
Yeah I feel you with the monkey arms. I'm 5'9 with a 6'2 wingspan, and a 89cm inseam 😂. Also, just got my Propel Advanced Pro too (55cm), about a month ago. Best bike I've owned so far 💪🏾. Is it still your #1?
How do you go about finding a price or purchasing their wheelsets? It looks like they make some decent lightweight mountain bike wheels with DT Swiss 350 compatible hubs.
You have to contact them via email on their website. Include the wheels/specs you want and they will quote you a price plus shipping. They should be pretty fast to reply. Mention my name if you would like.
@@cornelhughes6763 I haven't used shallow carbon spoked wheels with this frameset since it's an aero frame. The wheels I've used are mentioned in the video.
After going through the size chart, it is very unusual would be my take. This seems as if it is either going to be a sizing nightmare or the perfect frame for someone with unusual measurements. Due to this, I don't know if this would be the right frame for just anyone. Nice frame, but like you said, that gap between the downtube and the front tire is really a shame. Thanks.
@@HeRoLdinHo haha! In all honesty, I think Yishun/Light Carbon are the best buys under $1000. And for $1500 Winspace T1500 is still the best. Now if you truly can only afford $500 then VeloBuild 177 would be my vote.
USA, WA @@PatrickLino , I checked just last week. Only Size remaining at time was 50. and basicaly no way to get size 54 or 56 in near futur as they only take order for minimum 10 frame... maybe group buy option might be the only way going forward .
@@tonbost Man that is a bummer. While Yishun and Light Carbon are no longer "partners", I do believe the quality is the same and they offer paint. LC should have some comparable frames on their website.
The problem with the R21 is even if I got my hands on one, Yoeleo discontinued it. So reviewing the frame wouldn’t make sense since viewers/customers wouldn’t be able to buy one themselves.
Thats crazy. Other brands try to increase demand by giving you a discount code that you can forward to your viewers. These guys completely misunderstood how to make use of in this case free marketing. Sad to see that as i also had them on my shopping list.
Light Carbon is is more or less the same brand. And they offer paint options. I may check out a frame from them next season. But I 100% agree with you.
@@PatrickLino A little bit of correction. Frame is $740 + $100 shipping so it's still $840.. Tho i have no idea if they have updated the prices right now.
"stealth" matte black does not suit frames like this at all, they need some contrast to break things up a bit and make the tubes look less square and chunky even a name on the DT and a head badge or some gloss accents is enough sometimes. I saw a matte black Pinarello Dogma a few years back halfway through a custom paint job and sweet Jesus it was horrible.
@@chris1275cc I never owned a carbon bike I have used Italian classic road bike Faggin, with the frame that outclasses any carbon fiber bike out there, and a fixed gear/single speed bike, with very slender aluminum tubes, and literally invisible welds... really, the frame looks like it's made out of carbon fiber 😅 Nothing fancy, nothing expensive... The steel bike accelerates better than any alu frame that I ever owned... unfortunately, decommissioned now, because I damaged the freaking Italian threaded bb 😑 Riding my single speed only,atm... Greetings from Kris from Croatia 😎
