Extra info: stickerless green shades will be brighter than what I have, and stickered version comes with SCS full brights. It's a bit disappointing that this wasn't as good as I hoped, but I am still WAY worse on the Valk Power so let's not forget what's really important.

My thoughts on the facecam: In a video about a cube... we don't need to see your face. It doesn't add anything to the video. I think having as few distractions on-screen as possible is best. Less is more!

@@aspiecubist4826 Nice choice of description there, but yeah an average would be more helpful in knowing your skill level. But also, Feliks also has the WR average in 3x3. Singles as in PB don't matter, but PR's matter a little more. Averages are always more accurate when describing skill levels though.

Looks like the reviewers for The Cubicle gave the YJ MGC V2 a thumbs down. They are saying out of the box it is not going to be anywhere near a competitive benchmark compared to the flagships. Wow. Excellent and fascinating engineering and design analysis on your part. You are justifying your review which lends a lot of credibility and integrity to it. Cheers and kudos to you. It looks like I am personally going to hold off on this iteration of the MGC and look elsewhere. Thanks for being fair and not giving a hyped review on either end of the extreme spectrum.

I'd have to agree, the reviews were similar but the cubicle's review came across as a little biased, usually they're a little more diverse in their opinions but it seemed like a thumbs down across the board.

@@NKCubed I believe the MGC V1 was a better cube because of the unique feel. I have one and I like it. I am sure with a little tuning and modification one could be competitive with it. But what can one expect for $15 OOTB? It's probably in the same league as a Yuxin Little Magic or MF3RS2 magnetized on both. They are not competition level flagships but people still like them. As for the YJ MGC V2, this reminds me of the ThunderClap V1 and V2 issue. The ThunderClap V1 is still an acclaimed cube. But when they came out with the V2 they alienated their fans with the new one. It looks like the YJ MGC has experienced the same curse. Maybe a more diverse sampling across the board, with different users on the final production version, will be a true determination of how good the YJ MGC V2 really is. Or, one of the elite cubers adopts it as their main. Which isn't likely to happen anytime soon.

Unlike the LM and MF3RS2, both cubes which are very customizable and takes to setting up very well, the mgc's biggest failing is its weird feel that doesn't take well to setup. You can throw lube into it but all it does is make it chalky...due to excessive contact surfaces internally. I'm glad the mgc v2 had a different feel as jperm mentions. I look forward to trying it out.

@@hugiee I like the feel of the MGC V1. It is not like anything else. It is slower than my other cubes OOTB. Perhaps it needs something akin to an Angstrom or SuperNova treatment to make it even better. The MGC V2 has been said to feel like a new version of the Valk 3. What is interesting is that j perm likes the MGC V2 better than the Valk Power. Interesting. Right now I am going to hold off on the MGC V2. I have a Huanglong Stickerless Magnetic coming and that should do the trick till the next big thing.

Great video! Just thought I'd make a comment on the face cam. I don't particularly like it and here's why: I feel like it doesn't really serve a purpose for a video like this. I feel like for most of the video is going to be people looking at the cube and your turning, and a facecam just kind of distracts from that. Not to mention you're looking at the cube for most of it as well, so it seems a bit unnecessary to me. But still a great video thank you!

Nowadays my brain kinda filters out the facecam unless you actually do something that I need to watch, so for me it's not disturbing or anything, just doesn't add anything either

If you decide to keep the face cam, I think you should put it on the left side of the screen since it looks weird that you are looking off screen rather than at the cube.

Can you do a video comparing a bunch of methods (like more than just the main 4) and give your thoughts on each. I went through I stage where in one week I had 3 main methods. I learned TTLL for ZZ-CT but now I’m learning ZBLL for ZZ-a. I really do not know which method will be the fastest in the end and I would really love to here your opinion. Also try to make up you own method that you think could be the new best (algorithms don’t have to exist). Thank you!

generally good to have a fast water based lube (I use lunar) and then a silicone based lube (I use SCS weight 5)

The actual need for a facecam is none, but it helps to display the reaction to different aspects of a cube. I think the facecam could work out.
