Nice review, helps a lot. There are other Alice boards as well, there is the MGA standard by sneakbox (~$300), there is also switch couture Alice (~$200), both of which are in stock and great value for the price
Thanks for the info. Just reached out to Sneakbox to check if they are willing to send in a review sample. Planning to check out switch couture as well!
please talk to ymdk to use south facing configuration for their hotswap layout because right now their hotswap offering is weird to bad. ydmk96 hotswap pcb doesnt have per key rgb (you need to solder it yourself) and most of ymdk hotswap pcb doesnt have per key rgb anyway but they decided to use north facing led configuration thats so weird if you doesnt offer any per key rgb theres no reason to use north facing led configuration and i think its not a big deal of an engineering hurdle since their soldered pcb are all use south facing led configuration so they can convert their solder pcb into hotswap
Very nice video. I can tell a lot of effort went into this! Super in-depth. This board would've been an instantbuy as a beater board if it had the extra B on the right!
@@TheDredgenProject Thx 🙏 I am looking forward to the review of the melody96. Or did i miss that already? Among all the keyboard youtubers, i enjoy watching your reviews the most 💪
Gonna try and do a better job to dampen the stabilizer clonky sounds, will update if I am successful (update: yep, I made mine muuuch better sounding, but it required putting poron foam on every possible space of the plate, and using sound absorbing foam for cars around the edges of the plate to prevent sound from escaping completely, the right spacebar was the hardest to mute).
I wish they did. There is no room in the lower case for a battery, though. There's just enough space in there for a little PE foam or something of similar thickness.
The trade off there would be that Wings will look more "refined" because of the alu finish but some switch couture Alices look really nice as well. I bought a bifrost radiant last month and I am still waiting on my order.
Can someone explain to me why integrated plate is not as good as individual plate? I read some reviews about this keyboard and they said that, but I don't know why?
Integrated plate is an okay mounting style but it is usually stiff and harsh on the bottom out. If the plate was not integrated, you would have the ability to change plates should you wish too.
Hey, is there a shortcut to change the colour of the lighting? QMK isn't working for me and the default red colour really doesn't gel with my keycap set. Thanks
@@axxis0953 try to use keyboard tester to see how you would hit F1. I think it is the last button on the nav cluster on the right but I am not that sure.
@@axxis0953 Just use VIA, there's an hex file for this keyboard on reddit. Flash that file using QMK and execute VIA. Now go to the lights section and set it the way you like.
Hello. I am planning to buy Jwick Red/Yellow (budget muna hehe) and I want to attain this kind of sound like yours. Based on my experience, 205g0 dampens the sound of the switches but yours has a high clack. How did you achieve that?
This was lubed by Zion Studios. You need to lube very lightly so you don't lose the clack. I personally overlube a bit so I'm not the best judge here haha
@@TheDredgenProject thanks! I already have purchased it from them hinihintay ko nalang na dumating dito haha. So stock ang binili ko so parang... pagaaralan ko muna pano ilube ng tama? Hahahahahahha thanks a lot!
@@juliusdulay4435 yup 50/50 mix though it's okay even if you don't. It's just easier to apply when you mix it. Don't put in too much or else you will lose the sound. It's good for linears.
If you look at it this way, for a aluminum Alice keyboard the case + pcb always go for $300+, even acrylic stack Alice boards go for around $180+. So this aluminum board at $130 is really affordable by Alice standards
