I’ve never given a shit about the Oscars but I let out a very auditable “YES” and fist pumped when he won. What a fucking comeback story.

It makes me happy that he actually did a really good job because now no reasonable person can call it a pity-Oscar

Brendan Frasier's comeback has been a really great thing.

Brendan deserved this 1,000%. The best thing about it is that it wasn't soley an empty Oscar of pity but one that he worked for in a great movie that he was absolutely the best part of. Even after years of abuse at the hands of the Hollywood system in all its fucked cruelty, he was able to turn in a preformance so excellent that he defied all who wronged him to receive one of the highest awards an actor can get. I will always contend that the Oscars are a very stinky ceremony of Hollywood cronies patting themselves on the back. But if they're going to have a big stinky poopoo event of this type the least they can do is give awards to those who actually deserve it. I must say this years awards, with a few notable exceptions, did just that. Even though the Oscars will seemingly always be a cringe fest (damn you Jimmy Krambel) to me I'm happy most of the right people got rewarded for their genuine talents. Added bonus: Disney didn't get a best animated feature it didn't deserve, and Elvis didn't win a goddamn thing so I'm happy.

What I find really interesting on Rotten Tomatoes is that The Whale is actually rated like a crowd-pleaser. The critical rating is 60-ish percent, but the audience score is 91%. That’s something you’d expect from an above average super hero movie, not an Oscar winning character piece.

This is a heart touching moment. To go from last year's pampered prince of bel air ruining the night over a joke, to a legitimately awesome actor and human being having this comeback.....so happy.
