Thanks Nick! I’ve got the Pavo20 - my first Elrs quad and also first 03. Coming from Crossfire and Nebula Pro quads it was a bit of a learning curve. Really appreciate your advice on the new stuff coming out.

I would bet that this thing is more durable than the Pavo20. I say that because I have the Pavo Pico, and am constantly breaking the prop guard frame. Maybe not apples to apples though since the Eagle 1 doesn't have prop guards. On the flip side, I'd also bet that the Pavo20 flies much better than the Eagle 1, as it is substantially lighter and more versatile (indoor flight with the guards).

For what its worth, an unplanned experiment of mine has shown that a chunky 2" quad of similar weight, using Toka 1206 4500kv motors with HQ 2x2.5x3 props and using 520mah and 660mah 4s lipos flies much better than this. Using a bumped throttle curve of course to harvest the excesses of torque from the 1206 motors. 4:00-4:30 flight times making fewer 180 turns than you see in these flights, but going a heck of a lot faster. So yes, I agree that there is little reason for such a 2" quad to exist when 2.5" props hardly make it any bigger. But the heavy 2" can be made to be more fun with some design changes.

Wow, that is a chonker. It's also one of few 2 inch drones with the best picture quality and metal bits. One thing I learned from the land RC world with swapping out traditional part materials for metal. It's heavier, which impacts air RC's way more, and the bigest thing to cinsidder, when you hit something, that metal doesn't give, it'll move the impact force to something elst that's not metal. That folds land RC's in half, or at least banana shape parts not meant to be. It looks like it fly's well in your hands and stands up to some abuse. Those motors are amazing. Mr. Burns, your always reviewing these, but what would you say are your favorite micros to fly in your back yard these days? Like what is your "go to" back yard ripper builds for a analog and HD? Do you prefer open prop or whoop these days?

Outside I generally perferr open prop. Analog my favorite is still my custom rocket race build, for hd I like the flylens85.

Great video! How do you get the osd on the dvr recording? Since switching from analog to a 03 I lost the osd on my recordings. Being a noob it was nice to be able to see those things when watching footage.

still way more pricey than I would expect for the version with no VTX. why would I buy this over building an odonata? F722 and RCInPower motors is part of that cost, but still seems high for the rest of the bits.

The frame is a bit heavy, but if they made one in 3 or 3.5" I'd probably build one. Love the top battery mount, stacked 03,and no props in view configuration, plus it would probably be pretty tough. The price for the frame alone is pretty reasonable.

The smaller the prop the less viable long range flight. Technically it can fly long range up to the limit of the DJI O3 video system up to 10km. Will it make it all the way to 10km and back, not likely.

I do like those props. It would depend on the kv, those 2540 are pretty grungy and would like kill battery life if the motor kv was high

yes, the AIO has the 25.x25 mounting so we stack the walksnail vtx on top of that.

I could have been a little more polite there, my apologies. I immediately miss the interaction in your videos. The "watchability" and interest level that i'm able to maintain has gone down, and it's due to the removal of that structure. I miss it. It's OBVIOUSLY not my place to tell you how to live your life. I think you get a lot out of the community interaction on your channel, and I know that I do too. I know that the watchability of your videos has always been surprisingly high, considering that you almost always fly the same spot. That's due to your personality, editing, and the flight content itself. You are still great, and your editing is still great, but I think the visual interest is also a dealmaker/dealbreaker. While you will undoubtedly move forward from this, I have a hard time letting go of things sometimes. I hope you do get something else to interact with back there, i'll be checking back from time to time :)@@NickBurnsFPV

@@MrFadjule I understand where the playset was is now more boring than interesting....I miss the play set as well. Unfortunately the kids grew up and the playset wasn't being used and was largely rotten/unusable. We have talked about adding something in that area, but I don't expect anything in the short run. The overall backyard remake was very expensive and the next need is the fence. It too is getting rotten and needs replaced. Adding something that is temporary for flight interest isn't likely to get wife or HOA approval. I hope the flights can continue to be as entertaining as they can while the backyard develops.

2" just isn't powerful enough for heavy cameras and batteries; 3-3.5" is the sweet spot and you can still be under 250G.... but that camera is sooooo nice.
