“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

This 1 FREE video alone taught me more than my 1 week of nail training in Beauty School and I paid $20k for that! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I've done nails for a few years and still consider myself a beginner with acrylic.

How bad do you have to be to have an entire nail pop off? I understand lifing because it may not be the nail tech, it could be the client's lifestyle. I have watched videos where someone said you don't need dehydrator, what are your thoughts?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 года назад
How do you prep the natural nails? Our product swipe is a cleanser/dehydrator.

I wish youngnails would talk about matching product to nail type. I can't wear acrylic because it pops off so easily. Same day I can pop them off without hurting my natural nail. I've been to lots of different salons and same thing. But gel I can't get to come off without filing it away no matter what salon I went to so I do lots of gel for myself at home now. My natural nails are very thin, flat, no c curve, ridged, and flexible. I can shred them like paper. So, I like to wear product on them and because acrylic never stayed but gel did, I went to gel. Please correct me if I'm wrong but nail type has something to do with lifting too?
@Labtyd3
@Labtyd3 2 года назад
I have really ridged nails. I have a lot of trouble with lifting or popping off acrylic nails. I also wear mostly gels because they last longest.
@aknuk2
@aknuk2 2 года назад
@@Labtyd3 If your nail is flexible what can happen is that the acrylic is very hard with no tensile strength. Meaning it doesn't really give or bend. So when your natural nail flexes it will flex away from the acrylic and cause lifting or popping off. Gel does have good tensile strength so it gives/bends with our flexible nails while giving us strength at the same time. This is also why gel polish is better for me because most nail polishes are just too hard and end up chipping off right away.

If the nails are thin or damaged I typically do acrylic.. if they have healthy nails and or work in chemicals or water all day.. gel typically does better on them.

Could you do the cuticle area in 2 very small beads? Especially on the thumbs I feel like sometimes it’s hard to work 1 bead all the way… especially with wide thumbs.
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 года назад
It’s always best to do the cuticle area in one pearl so your product is the same consistence & will stay nice & thin. If you keep adding small pearls, it’s more likely to encourage lifting or get too thick at the cuticle. Try leaving more liquid in your brush so you’re able to pick up a larger pearl or Greg’s Signature Brush works really well for picking up large pearls. We do have several videos on placing product at the cuticle that might help!

When you’re ‘tickling’ is that a one way motion (lifting after each pass to come back for another one way swipe) or back and forth? I keep trying to figure that out in your videos and I can’t tell because it’s so fast. Thanks for your reply

I’m pretty sure it’s only one direction, he has more in-depth videos on prepping the nail for application. He said only go one direction very gently taking off the shine, and change the direction of the efile when going around one side of the cuticle (depending on which dominant hand you use) Check out their nail prep videos 💅

You move the e-file in one direction toward you.

i used protein bond one time for a set of nails for a client and her nails came off . i used two coats of protein bond . the protein bond leaves a shiny layer and we know for any adhesion we dont like shiny ... i prepped her nails . i went to nail tech school recently, so idk what im doing wrong
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 года назад
Two coats of Protein Bond should be all you need. It is a bonder and may look shiny, but it is actually just the stickiness for it to adhere to your product. It doesn't dry to a chalky look like a dehydrator does. If your product is lifting from your cuticle area, it could be your product application or if your product is coming in contact with the skin.

Once you’ve prepped the nail with the arbour band, when they come back for a soak off and new set, do you need to prep the whole nail plate or just where it has grown out from the cuticle? If you keep prepping the whole nail plate over & over will it thin the nail plate too much?
@zitlalycmartinez5362
@zitlalycmartinez5362 2 года назад
I wonder this too
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Год назад
We recommend doing fills or rebalances every 2-3 weeks rather than doing a soak off and new set. If you feel the need to remove the set to start over, you can use the efile to file off the majority of the product but you can leave a thin layer and re-apply over that. If you repeatedly apply and remove product, this can start to cause thinning of the nails due to the acetone and filing of the nails. By leaving the thin layer of product, you aren't exposing the nail to acetone or filing every 2-3 weeks.

Why is the protein bond so small 😣
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 года назад
Protein bond must stay this size because the chemistry changes when made in a larger size and we would never want to compromise the integrity of the product.

Unfortunately my natural nails are incredibly thin from practicing acrylic nails at home 🫣 so it’s hard to roughen my nails up without them hurting. Some people leave a layer of acrylic on their natural nail to protect it. My question is, can you buff that thin layer up like you would a natural nail? I use your powder with Kiara Sky monomer. I got her monomer because I heard it’s not as strong as other monomers. I’ve tried KS acrylic powder and absolutely HATED the way it filed down 😬 your powder is the best! ❤ I should probably try your monomer lol I’m just nervous of the smell.
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 3 месяца назад
If you are changing our your nails on a regular basis, you can leave a thin layer of acrylic and re-prep over it or simply fill the nails rather than removing every time. If you want to fully remove all of the product, we would recommend filing down the majority of the product and then soak the last thin layer off using acetone. The more you remove and re-prep and re-apply nails, the more likely you are to cause damage and thin the nails. If your nails are currently sore to the touch, you may want to leave product off of them for a while so the damage can grow out. We don't recommend mixing product lines as this can affect the chemistry of the acrylic. We do offer an Extreme Low Odor line of acrylic that may be better for you if you are worried about smell. Keep in mind this liquid and powder can not be used with any other acrylic system as it will not set up properly.
