yngwie is a trip. He is one of the more interesting musicians ive ever hear interviewed. Its like he doesn’t bother the say any of the normal boring press releases stuff, but just has this very unusual point of view. One if a kind.
***** I think it was different because the interviewer sounds like he is a musician, so the interview becomes more at the personal level and intelligent questions are asked-unlike your run in the mill bullshit interview from some scipted nobody who knows little or nothing about music and guitar. That type of interview is probably annoying to Yngwie, so he probably gets in a hurry to get it over.
i know right? ....my squier was 120 $ brand new ...went down to 40 $ re-sale .. but now ......i could get as much as 48 $ ...if i hold onto it for 50 yrs... i might get more than i paid !!.... WINNER !!!
"Play with your teeth, play with your butt, kick it around, throw it up in the air." Yngwie is definitely from the Hendrix/Blackmore/Townshend school of showmanship. The king of neoclassical shred.
@@Cincinnatus1869 He pretty much changed the scene when he showed up, every top guitarist says that, but here you are saying he is not on their level of creativity. I bet your answer to my comment is gonna be that he is too repetitive am i right? HEHE
@@Cincinnatus1869 it's well known and scientifically proven that low IQ people can't understand and listen.NOT HEAR.LISTEN to high tempo and technically demanding music
the way Yngwie talks about the past reminds me of the 80s too. I wanted to learn to play the guitar and ask my father bought for me one and he bought it from his friend but didn't realize the bridge was cracked. But, I still used it. It's not like today, you can go online to study guitar, read tabs, or buy tapes to learn. Of course, didn't have the money to even buy cassette albums. Had to get the copyright cheaper. Only later on I started reading guitar magazines and learned bits and pieces. My friend offered to pay for classical guitar lessons but I stop cause didn't have the money to continue. Those were the days. lol :p
"if you do a bum note, thats it". And that's how Yngwie is separated from the rest of us. Very strong statement that sets apart the professional musician from the bedroom shredder (like myself)!!! lol!
I believe he was speaking about playing with an classical orchestra,..NOT in a rock band,..meaning within the context of an orchestra EVERY note has meaning,..in a rock and roll band....not so much...lol..
Rudy Sarzo mentioned about that topic that Yngwie might play what YM here calls "a bum note" but that he'd be able to laugh about it and save it by what Rudy calls amazing notes that would go into his soul or something. He also praised YMs sense of humor, calling him the funniest guy he'd worked with.
The title of this video is silly, since there is never a time when Yngwie is NOT candid. This is someone who's 2nd passion after playing guitar is talking about himself.
vintagestrat05 to the contrary... try play malmsteen licka on a fat necked Les Paul 25.625 scale... GOOD LUCK!!! why do you think people play fenders and jackson and ibanez? they play them because of the fast necks and the 25.5 scale.. The extra tension helps you play faster. You should have know this. Gibson are for real players who want to work for their tone.. Fender strat is a one trick pony Gibson is THE sound of rock and real metal
Why are they Junk? They have very comfortable necks (most of them) and the Mexicans ones are very well priced and play excellently. When I was a beginner a cheap guitar was Junk and often the neck was twisted and a good playing action was impossible, now today we are spoiled rotten with good guitars for not too much money and Fender have that market covered very well. Yamaha Pacificas too are brilliant for the money and give good competition for Fender.
