Joe was Yngwie's best singer, and no one can change my mind on that. That said, the singer here isn’t half-bad. Certainly better than me when I try to sing _Rising Force;_ I sound like a duck who inhaled 4 balloons worth of helium 😂
Another thing i like about the video, apart fom the guitar and composer maestro malmsteen, is the fact that at 2:37 yngwie throws his pick to the audience right in front of the camera. felt so nostalgic just like when I got mine at yngwie's concerto. The video you uploaded I think it is awesome. And the playing is very good, despite of what others say. Thanks!
was at a festival in 2005 where he played, left after about 300 guitar spins,230 guitar throws and 46 guitar changes....i think he played one or two actual notes somewhere in those 20 minutes i was there.

Yngwie said he would give the singer $1000 for every song he could sing well & in tune, Yngwie has never had to pay out even once! This is Spinal Tap Mark II and an utter embarrasment compared to Rising Force, Vecsara, etc line ups. I feel very sorry for the people at the Festival not there to see Yngwie (most of them!) who had to endure this crap & that Spinal Tap Mark II band.
I gotta say, I love this guy, one of the greatest of all times, however he is playing like a nuts, it seems like he doesn't care anything, he is performing like a kid and worse, playing like one as well. A sad ending to a such fantastic musician.

"was" a legend. Now he's just an overweight joke; and you can't honestly say that this is a good example of his live playing. A true legend retains their professionalism in every performance.
Everybody has an off night I saw him at Saint Andrews in Detroit in 14 and in 15 on the Generation Axe tour he was incredible ive seen him over a dozen times spanning back to the Alcatrazz no parole tour one of the greatest guitarists on the planet in my book and ive seen the greats of the greats .
this is absolute crap... thinking about those big names who have been on Malmsteen's band like Scott Soto, Boals, Lynn Turner, Vescera, Leven, Lande, White, Owens... hear this guy and see this band is sad, poor, depressive, Malmsteen today is a ugly joke of what he used to be... his ego has blinded his own perception of everything...
+Dante V Agreed 1000% He had the best vocalists. His last 4 albums or so, are the most predictable music ever. People talk about how ACDC and Motorhead release the same album, that's not true, diferent riffs, song structures, etc. But Yngwie in fact plays the same melodies and rhythms every album. And now he keeps ruining his own songs on stage, like the video above. I'm still his fan, but if I want live stuff I'll pick my "Double Live" or my "Live in Leningrad" albums. Cheers

Yo lo que creo es que se aburre tocando canciones como rising force...joder poneros a pensar cuantas veces habra tocado esa cancion en su vida?. Asi que pues lo que hace con esas canciones es una fiesta. Para el los conciertos es eso una fiesta y pasa de tocar todo como en disco. Por una parte, es logico, pero por otra yo no pago para ver a un excelente musico hacer el payaso sin control y no tocar las cosas como suenan en el disco. Y si se aburre, pues que toque canciones de las ultimas o que no toque simplemente. Las cosas tienen un limite, puedes moverte hacer vaciladas lo que quieras, pero los solos los tienes que tocar perfectos y tal como los tienes en el disco, al menos que hagas un cover de ti mismo. Yo por eso no voy a verle, prefiero escucharle en disco que es donde se lo toma en serio. Pero, es una lastima su forma de tocar en directo. Tampoco me mola en plan robot con steve vai u otros, hay que hacer algo equilibrado no creeis?. Por cierto, KISS son musicos profesionales, yo cuando los vi hace unos 10 años o asi, sonaron perfectos, es la diferencia entre un musico vocalista y en esta ocasion son todos vocalistas y un guitarrista que prescinde de un vocalista.

never been an serious Yngwie fan. Obvious this is for showing off. Obviously he's talented but.......my personal opinion like some below; he used to have great singers and a band. Joe Lynn Turner was one of them. Oh well. We all gotta grow old sometime.
I was in this festival. I arrived right after he was done. It's the 1st time I'm seeing a video of this day, and from what people were saying back then I thought it was 1million times worse. He is just goofing around, but he seems to be really doing some effort to make it entertaining... I though he would have been kinda lazy, not interacting with people and all, but it seems that it was the other way around.
Rough crowd here... Everyone complaining about the sound, it is filmed on an iPhone in an outdoor venue ffs! He was a little sloppy and showboating for the camera but so what? It was the only the opening song. Finally, he lives in my area and plays at a local small venue where he always sounds amazing and still has most of his skill in tact.
Yeah... it's supposed to be a show after all. That said, there are plenty of valid criticisms you can make about his albums as of late. Beyond anything totally subjective like musical style, choice of keys, etc, I honestly think his hearing is getting affected by his constant exposure to massive Marshall stacks, you can tell by the way he likes his mixes. The kind of drum sounds he seems to prefer, how much more compressed and treble-focused his guitar tone has gotten, etc. I think he's having problems hearing the mids and low mids, so the sound is getting focused more to both ends, even the drums.
Someone tell him it's not 1987 anymore, he can stop hamming it up so much and play his damn instrument. A little theatrics are ok but not at the cost of actually butchering the song.
I feel soooo sorry for Yngwie........ he blew me away in the 80's, I have great respect for the man and for the way he combined hard rock and clasical themes. He is fast and yet can play with a lot of "feel"and soul. But seeing this...... can somebody protect this man for himself? It's just showboating what he does here...... shooting picks, throwing his guitar round his back, very (I mean: VERY) sloppy playing......and the sound is horrible too. And NO...I can't do better, so don't bother to ask.....
I love Yngwie's music, but he spends as much time throwing and getting new picks as he does playing. Does anyone else think he should be wearing a white jumpsuit?
It's okay if he it's your favorite player, but if you like music, why don't you try to play, i'm 34 and still want to play, i'm play like 4-5 hours, original music speed death, i have a instrumental demo, i know it's Hard to live of this because the public are shit, but i feel the spirit of the 70, 80, 90, to play any instrument, in order to become a pro musician been lustfull in the young people, i have another carreer but don't have any remuneration of this, so i wanted the music become my full time job.

I have been a Malmsteen fan since the day I bought Rising Force on cassette back in 1984. Over the years, Malmsteen has become quite sloppy. I know that playing the same songs day in and day out can be tedious but he needs to remember some of us want to hear the proper notes and album versions live to a T and don't care for the circus styled entertainment portion of his shows.
I know what’s really wrong with his sound. He needs more stacks . This setup is way too small. My practice setup is bigger than this. How many stacks does he need. Just ONE more. Lol!! I wonder how many of those stacks are just there for looks and not even plugged in. That’s 24 heads and what, 6 4X12 cabinets? In what configuration did they run those heads so as to not vaporize every one of those speakers?
Every cabinet is running except 1 I believe. There's 13 cabs and 24 heads. So 12 running cabs and 24 heads. Either he's blending his signature heads with the jvm410 trough each cab. Or he just has 12 running heads and 12 backups.

Spent 30% of the total show time stockpiling Marshalls that weren't even powered on. When he finally got to stage his setup (one head/one cabinet) had no sound. That made me regret a lot being there
Nothing if it was still the 80's, but it's not. Don't get me wrong, I learned to play guitar in the 80's too, that era had a huge influence on me - I was into early Iron Maiden, early Slayer and early Metallica (I saw them twice with Dave Mustaine). Yngwie's music is still amazing and it would be just as amazing without hair extensions.. he's starting to look like Steal Panther or Spinal Tap.
Yngwie is the definition of an artist that quit evolving and he's now just a parody of what he once was.. I'm not saying it would be easy to top was he's done in the past, I just wish he would lose the 80's image and maybe collaborate with some artists in other genres to create something a little less predictable..

He's not even playing, just making noises and photo poses. What a disapointment. Yngwie was really good at the 80's and 90's. He had great band in those era. Now he is just his name.
Pretty sloppy in some parts but extremely clean and sharp on others, it's not that his skills went down, just feels like he was not very much commited to this performance :/

More a comedy band they are like Spinal Tap Mark II but need to make it clear they are comedy and not doing serious music. Yngwie's playing is very rough indeed here! Go compare to 80's performances he was smooth and glided then.
yngwie has gotten to the stage where he thinks he doesnt need to practice anymore, and you can tell his playing is getting worse because of it, just because your getting older doesnt mean you should ever stop practicing!!!!

I think this does not do the song or the album any justice. He is making to much show, ruining the song. Also the solos are so badly played it is aweful, of cause the sound mix is bad, but that is because of the video recoring with a phone. It still does not explain why you cannot hear the keyboard solo, which is a vital part in the duet of solos in the solo part. Yo lo vi en vivo el año pasado y es verdad que la voz apesta, es verdad que ya no toca como antes pero no se puede negar que el feeling sigue ahí, si solo te gustan 3 temas de Yngwie no vayas a verlo en vivo, pero si te gusta el neoclásico de verdad y disfrutas de solos por todas partes y de toda esa mierda de ser un guitar god entonces deberías de verlo en vivo cada vez que puedas. Yngwie es único y no va a gustarle a todo el mundo, es un músico ante todo pero también un gran showman, si quieres escuchar sus canciones tal y como vienen en el album pues quedate en casa a escuchar el album, si quieres un show de un Dios de la guitarra anda a verlo en vivo.

yes Yngwie we all know your guitar technique is amazing you can run scales better than anybody. Now if you can just not only learn to write a great song but learn to let the songs you have that are good breath and tell their story then maybe i will see you as somebody more than a person id want to take lessons from. DAMN id swear this was a parody band if i didnt know better. WTF its about songs not scales your not even close to the genius of your idol Ritchie Blackmore. Yngwie is a good guitar but , he is being more into a show man than a guitarist . He might reduce jumping and juggling around and focus on notes . Beside it’s being a long time since he impressed us with his creativity .
