that's the difference between a Thai Fighter and the rest, Thais carry the whole family and the need to feed them on their shoulders, but for the rest they started Muay Thai as a hobby. Thais do it as a job and for the company of Muay Thai they are the ultimate CEOS

@khairuleven Thats why Tdk kick are only good for breaking woods and sticks. In muay thay, we learn to break legs arms ribs and snap off a neck if possible...You learn to hit static bullsides from acrobatic angles. We (in MT) learn that every kick must be thrown with the intention to kill. Why? Because after a kick you are vulnerable to counters. Thats why you have to make sure everykick hurts him as hell.

Just for the record Yod has WAY more than two losses, but he is great. I can't imagine why Bruce didn't bother to dutch block all those left kicks (how Andy Souwer blocks for those who dont know what I mean), he could have greatly reduced the damage to his arm and opened up a lot more opportunities to counter.
would be interesting to see him in a boxing match. a lot of thai boxing champs come form the muay thai. has brilliant poise and form and his punching technique is fantastic. would help him not bastardise his style ala ufc and still get a bit of exposure
Being cocky is crucial to some fighters, confidence is important for a fighter and being cocky is how some people maintain their confidence. As for Buakaw I know multiple people who have met and trained with him and apparently he thinks he is a god on earth.

world champion fighting is all about money and publicity no doubt, if people like the fighters they may ignore other *better* fighters. my original comment was in reply to the comment that westerners only train a few times a week, it was an ignorant stupid comment to make by them as its clearly not true.
