This was sooo amazing, thank you!! Loved the considerations and the adjustments. And your explanations were so great too. Really felt like I was in safe hands. Yay for accessible exercise!! Xx
Thanks so much Georgina! And I’m so so glad you felt in safe hands. That’s the most important things! Can’t wait to make more accessible yoga routines for all xx
The toe taps are such a good core exercise! i have abdominal adhesion from endometriosis so i’m glad to have found a core exercise that doesn’t agitate that
I wept at the end. Thank you. When you took time to allow for dizziness coming back up from laying down... so helpful. It was amazing to not have to continually make my own adjustments and pep-talk myself through a workout. Please keep doing this!
This was amazing!! Only the 2nd ever yoga video I have managed to get all the way through (the first was your POTS yoga flow!) and I loved it. It made me feel safe to know what to look out for in terms of overextending. Also the prompts to be aware when moving position to avoid dizziness make all the difference. I feel like I could actually do this regularly which is so exciting 🥳
Wow thank you so much for this feedback Naomi! It’s amazing to know you got on so well with it and feel it could be a regular for you! Glad all the prompts helped 💓 I definitely took my time moving between each transition when I was filming (those long pauses are editing out to keep it flowing better but I hope people know they can take as long as they need when moving from one position to the next 😊) Thanks for joining me today 💓🤗
wow.. not going to lie, the way you speak to the viewer just about made me cry.. the validation of things being different for each person and the encouragement go check in with one’s body were amazing! & oh my gosh also the CLEAR descriptions of what it feels like to overstretch your hip and the difference in engaging different muscles to fix it is something I’ve never encountered and was extremely helpful. I always struggle with stretches and workout type videos due to my inner critic and inability to know how to not to overstretch my body, so this was amazing 🥹 thank you so much
Hey Sasha, your feedback has made my day! 🥰 Thank you so much! So glad you found my explanations helpful. So useful to know what works and what doesn’t so thank you so much for taking the time to comment 💖
My Doctor just had me start doing yoga for my eds most normal yoga is either not paced for potsies or is to focused on stretching as far as you can so this was perfect! Thank you!
this was really great for my body today ! i stopped practicing yoga almost completely last year when my symptoms got too severe, but with new meds+supplements in my system i'm feeling a little stronger and less fatigued than usual, so it was really nice to have a gentle strengthening session . i move very slowly so i had to pause a lot, but it still felt so good . thank you
Absolutely loved this! I've tried other yoga flows for hypermobility and/or POTS and they felt impossible. This feels so doable, definitely will come back to this! Thank you for making exercise accessible
thank you so much! I feel so nicely stretched and had zero headrushes or dizzyness! it's great having an instructor who's in the same boat as you and understands your needs firsthand, i'll be doing this flow whenever I need a stretch from now on :)
Thanks so much for joining me for this practice and I’m so happy you got on well with it. So nice to be able to move your body without triggering head rush or dizzy spells. Hope you enjoy it as much next time too ☺️💓
I am a yogi of 20+ years and was just recently diagnosed with POTS. I’m so glad I found your channel. I feel inspired knowing I can continue my yoga practice. Namaste ❤
So sorry to hear you’ve also been diagnosed with POTS. Hope you’re doing ok! Really glad you’ve found my channel and absolutely you can continue your yoga practice 💖☺️
I don’t know if I have POTS but I have symptoms some days (Long Covid) and I haven’t been exercising much and this made me feel like I actually did some exercise without physically doing too much! I will be coming back to this. Thank you so much!
Ohh I’m sorry you’re suffering with long covid / potential POTS issues. Really glad this flow helped! I’ve actually just filmed another POTS friendly flow which will be going out this week 😀
What you said about activating the hips instead of fully sinking into it was SO helpful!! The stretch never quite felt right before and making sure my knees were in and hips were activated was something I hadn’t been told before. Thank you! 😊 I also did this flow on a morning where I was having a ton of stiffness and pain in my neck from hEDS, and it’s feeling much better after!
I have POTS and I found this super helpful. Most pots exercise videos verge on the too gentle for me. This pushes me just a little more. It's great. What's more is this helps my lower back more too. I feel like if I do these exercises more the pain in my lower back may even go away some day.
Thank you, your videos are helping me so much. You are helping me to regain my life and get stronger. I was able to go out for 1 hour today to sit down by the water for the first time in 10 weeks. I could cry with happiness as it has been a very very tough 10 weeks. Love and blessings to you.
Thanks this yoga session was great. I have POTS and EDS and Ankylosing Spondylitis and have done Pilates mainly because standing yoga was too much. But this video allowed me to stretch but not too much and twist which always feels great.
This is great! Thank you! I love thé seated and mat only. Sometimes it’s intimidating to try and start a workout but the mat only makes this seem plausible on “okay” days
I don't know anything about actually practicing yoga, just a bunch of history, i don't know the names or movements at all, but despite that I was able to follow along and do as much as I could (even though I managed to overestimate my abilities and ended up dizzy anyway. You live and you learn haha). Thank you so much for this, I will definitely come back to it, and also check out the standing options as well.
I am hypermobile and have dysautonomia (diagnosis journey is going slow but I may have MS or fibromyalgia) and a knee injury. I was able to do most of it but it did put a bit of strain on my knee. The hip stretches were a bit difficult to get correct and couldn't figure out how to stabilize without over stretching (which hurt a bit). The ab exercise I think I did it wrong bc I didn't quite feel it in my abs, but thank you for being so detailed- my pain flair up is MUCH better now. So relaxing ❤
Thanks so much for letting me know how you got on! As always with these things I say you know your body best and it sounds like you absolutely do! You listened to what didn’t feel right and could tell when exercises weren’t quite working as they should be. It’s amazing to be that in tune with your body. Always remember if anything hurts, then it’s not right for you and just stop doing it and join in with the next pose that does feel ok ☺️ I hope things keep improving for you 🙏🏼
Thanks so much for these videos. I’m a Potsie and I just discovered your videos. Quick question, with my POTS I tend to get a lot of tension and tightness right at the base of my neck where neck meets shoulders. In the trapezius area I think it is. Do you have any good recommendations to stretch to loosen those muscles?
Hey thanks so much for joining me today! I’m glad you like these Potsie videos 😃 I’m about to run an October yoga challenge over on POTS UK (on Facebook) and one of my videos specifically focuses on neck and shoulder mobility as I know this is an issue for a fair few of us with the condition. Hope that helps! 💖
Looks like a great workout I want to try! But I am worried that it could make me more fatigued or weaker in the following days (post exertional malaise). How do you manage to know when to stop or how much you can tolerate? Two weeks ago i tried a routine like this one and I crashed badly :(
I know we’re all different but my advice would be to only do a very little amount that you can manage. Maybe watch the video through first to see if any of it seems manageable to you. And then take 2 poses that you think you could try today. Maybe going straight in for a full routine is just too much right now and that’s ok, meet yourself where you’re at. It’s not a time to be pushing yourself to get through something but instead going gently and knowing it’s ok to stop when you need 💖
Will you make a video for people with POTS with back pain/neck pain I have pain all over my back so any kind of back pain POTS friendly yoga would help lots!
I had to stop watching less than halfway through because every single pose has injured me multiple times in the past. It feels like an instructional video on how to dislocate the major joints in the body and exacerbate costochondritis. I don't know how y'all found this helpful, maybe I have a different hypermobility disorder to yours but ashtanga didn't mess me up nearly as bad as "yoga for hypermobility" videos so I'll be sticking to that. Very frustrated and upset.
You know this is a free video made for a general audience? I cannot tailor videos to individual conditions so of course this isn’t going to work for everyone. I say that multiple times in the video. Sorry this one didn’t work for you. But as someone with Hypermobility, these poses DO work for me and many others with the condition. Really pleased you listened to your body and didn’t join in today. That’s always the best approach.
