I couldn't either for a long time but only after I started engaging my core more and basically thinking about the core and trying to activate it as much as possible it worked. It was very empowering! Good luck

How long do you hold that position? I’ve been very fascinated by this yoga position and would love to try it, I been doing research and I see there are some benefits for blood rushing to the brain but thanks for the tutorial 👍🏽

So i’ve been trying to do this, every step until the part where I move my hips back is great! Any tips on that? I get stuck when I have to push the hops back.

I think many people are not successful in their attempt because they need to build up the stomach / arms / shoulder strength. I'm extremely fit and workout most days. I do light yoga from time to time and managed my first tentative headstand in 10 minutes. I would practice these steps for many days before expecting to do it straight away. You can do it!

It was in my New Years resolutions to learn to do a handstand but I really don’t think I’ll make it. I can’t stand the feeling of being upside down and i get nauseous as I feel my blood filling my head. Do you have any tips on dealing with that?

I watch your tutorial everyday so I can learn where I maybe going wrong and I see that I cannot get to move my hips forward as you say. I simply topple over. 😟

Nice clear video! I just started attempting forearm headstands and am feeling quite steady, but they cause a bit of pain in my crown (normally for a minute or so after). Am I doing something wrong or is the soreness just because I’m not used to pressure on the top of my head?

You shouldn't put the pressure on your hhead crown! Weight should be divided mostly 80% on fore arms, 20% on head. It should be stressed way more in the video the risk of injury if you don't get into this position well..... !

I’ve watched this twice and I’ve tried.. but I think my body muscle doesn’t match my arm/shoulder muscles.. And for the pushing or lifting the leg/knees when I try do that I can’t seem to lift them high enough for balance.. what else can I do?

Well done. Get the toes as close as possible and move SLOWLY. Begin against a wall for confidence.

Great instruction! I'm trying to master the headstand but don't have enough core muscles I think to hold my body up straight. Do you have any advice on how to train getting into the position? (the legs up to the chest basically, to then have enough strength to be solid enough to extent the legs and be able to hold) Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm sure Sophie will have a more technical answer to this, but for me personally I've found that full body workouts have really helped. Compound exercises that target multiple muscle groups including the core such as squats and dumbbell deadlifts. And of course targeted core exercises too. Yoga alone can definitely help strengthen the shoulders and core too.

its according to your flexibility,if ur very flexible then it will take probably couple of days,while for other it may take months,some can even take years.

Practice a dolphin hold to learn to shift the weight to the arms - this should be the bulk of the weight

Aren't headstands dangerous? Some people twist and sprain their ankles due to poor strength in their ankles while trying to ice skate. Isn't there a danger of even worse injury from a weak neck giving out under that much body weight?

Her head position is weird. Why isn't it more parallel to the floor? That is, if you rotate the image, it looks like she is looking upwards, instead of straigh ahead. I would have been better off just doing it by myself than looking at this video.

Don’t learn the headstand from these girls; they’re very pretty, but that’s all; they’re doing it wrong. It is the crown of the head that’s supposed to be on the floor, and not the forehead. This is a basic error that I see everywhere.

I love your videos and your positive energy! But I think you should be careful with yoga. :( I do Tikva instead, it´s a Christian excersise that is very much like yoga, but we focus on god and bibleverses, with calming music... I really LOVE IT! :D
