Because there was a violin guy... I love Norway at Eurovision many times even this year but ironically this norwegian song from 2009 has never been my cup of a tea. So I'm devastated I haven't watched the contest back then yet (I've only seen one or two semifinales cause of Czechia back then the Czech Republic) but in the end I'd be furious if I watched it and this song from Yohanna wouldn't win the whole thing.
Should have won in 2009, i understand that Fairytale was a masterpiece but for me this song is so magical, beautiful and mysterious in every way, i would never stop listening to it.
One of most beautiful woman and song in ESC ever. This song should've won Eurovision 2009! I'm still in love with this song and sometimes it makes me cry, it's really emotional and ... MASTERPIECE! Yohanna, come back to ESC please. Yohanna and Greta come from heaven with their angel voices.
Omg so happy to find this! I saw her performance on Eurovision when I was studying abroad. I wasn’t able to find the song here back in the U.S until now. Yay!
David Israel Yeah it was very strange how she didn't even get to the final. She was an easy winner for me. Great looking, fantastic voice, professional and good song.
This is one of the very few songs that I love and always recall when Eurovision is around. 3 years and it seems like yesterday, absolutely the best country back then. Greetings from Hellas, we love Yohanna!
2023... stumbled across this day after 2023 Eurovision in UK finale. Solid '90's sounding ballad...prefer it over the winning song that bested this song in the 2009 contest.
Not sure how the hell she managed to perform live on eurovision but it sounded damn near identical to the studio recording after hearing this version. Amazing.
I am an old man, heavy into country/western music. Nobody has anything on this girl. She is absolutely awsome and I will be looking for big things to happen in her future. Good luck Johanna.
ULTRAVIOLENT this song is actually very deep and tragic, but very little people can notice that... long way and hard is what you must finish,to realize how much your eyes were closed and ears were dead for many sounds, and your mind limited on two options, hate and violence .!.!.!.!.! ;)
One of the best songs that made a mark not only in the history of Eurovision, but in the history of music industry. Thank you Iceland and Yohanna for making such a song! Very proud of you. Greetings from Azerbaijan.
Close to 5 years now since I heard this song. Still sounds amazing. I love the Eurovision Song Contest and very few songs have touched me like this one has. Thank you Yohanna.
Oh this reminds me so much for back in the day when Eurovision actually had cool songs and especially I remember i was so pissed this one finished second and didnt win but actually deserved more than the winner! Love from Bulgaria.
Still best song to have come from ESC and I don't think it will be beaten. I really wish her career would have really taken off by now and unfortunately the album which was meant to come 2011 never happened. But I think there will soon be a new song. Love this song
It is the song, you are keeping to listen always. It never loses its value and its meaning. Apart from any contest I have chosen this song and I am never bored of it. That should be the real meaning of Eurovision.....
Исландия - первое место в Москве! Мы голосовали за Йоханну!!! Красивый голос! Красивая песня!!! Iceland - the first place in Moscow! We are for Johanna!!! Beautiful voice! Beautiful song!!!
The magical voice and a very touching song. Unambiguously better than all of the following ESC winners. She was just unlucky to get to Eurovision in the same year as Rybak. And by the way, I am 100% sure that today people listen to her song much more often than Rybak`s Fairytale.
This was my pick to win in 2009. I thought Reykjavik 2010, but it wasn't to be. I still love this song though and hope to see Yohanna back on the Eurovision stage some day.
This song makes me cry all the time I hear it but I can’t stop listening to it because it’s such an amazing song. There are quite a few songs I liked and should have won that year and this is one of them.
