Yolanda Adams and the Soul Children of Chicago (directed by Walt Whitman) sing "I Believe I Can Fly" during the Concert for World Children's Day in 2002. Musical Director: David Foster
She circulates her breathing while holding long notes. She goes in through the nose and out through the mouth WHILE HOLDING NOTES. She’s honestly amazing.
Louisa Johnson's one is a must for me.I strongly recommend it to you, I prefer hers than Yolanda's.Louisa's voice is just absolutely breathtaking and mind-blowing.She's so damn incredible!!! ❤🌟 Yolanda is great but she doesn't touch my heart the way Louisa effortlessly does because she's in a higher level(in my opinion).I never believed a white could sing better than a black person till I found Christina Aguilera and Louisa Johnson and I changed my mind!!! 💙
@Joseph Heard her. Pleasant, classic sounding voice, but on a technical level, she's not matching a Yolanda Adams. Tuvas all head voice and limited belting range.
@@drsuzannepenn2766 It's just phenomenal where she took this song which was already a mainstream juggernaut!!! She put the church and spirit then owned it.
African Americans have a God given ability to tap into the spirit of the Lord. Their way of worship, gospel music. Thankfully sometimes it spills over to the mainstream, and that is truly a blessing for all of us.
In the Philippines, there is a live performance that never failed to give me goosebumps. Such a passionate rendition. Try to watch Himala by Marielle Montellano
WOW!!!😱 Shoot, she made me believe I could fly & almost attempted it. 😂 Amazing! 👏🏼 Mad I never seen this. By far my favorite performance of hers & one of the best ever by anyone. Crystal clear. Pitch perfect. 👏🏼 Her voice is just as beautiful as she is. 🙏🏼❤️
@@Reverberation1991 I think you misunderstood the person meant that is a God given talent. She sings from the heart and you can feel what she sings. Besides only Muslims believe it is a sin to sing. No other religion believe this but you all. And yet David sang praises to God and played music and God loved it. But not according to you all. This is why God give people talent to make a joyful noise unto him and sing his praises!
wow....... her performance stunned me. her larynx position is so relaxed that she could belt with ease. she has variety. chest ,head, runs, vibrato ,belt what else.
who else is here because of the coronavirus pandemic? also, ever since R. Kelly's cancellation (and rightfully so), I've always preferred to listen to this version.
I will forever say that Yolanda Adams is one of the best singers of all time.. Her performance, her emotion, her drive. Its addicting. She sends me places when she sings. 😍 Forever a favorite!
Jermaine Paul's version is better. JP and the choir he used absolutely destroyed the song. You could literally feel the message and emotions of the song when he sang it.
Sorry. It is impossible to do it better than this, in this vocal style. Ones you hit the epitom it is of use trying to put any other rendition up against it. That is if you have any idea about music and singing
@Ketil What? You totally misinterpreted my comment. And I'm not making any comparisons or diminishing any other renditions. I'm only expressing my admiration for Miss Adams and how great this interpretation is. I've been listening to gospel, soul, funk, rhythm and blues, jazz, blues, etc. for 60 years, so I know better.
It's 3:30 for me. The pianist becomes the conductor to escort Yolanda in the next octave. Just magnificent! Literally two conductors at that exact point AND the director of the choir!!!
In my opinion the most powerful performance of history. The voice, the lyrics, the soul... it’s like heaven, i meet jesus, he messed my hair with his hands e said that everything was fine...
Her voice is ANOINTED!!!!!!!! She threw in scripture and made it more than a motivational song. Such talent, class and grace. When she sings she draws people to the King! God bless Yolanda Adams! ❤️🙌🏾
At 3:49...theres nothing tooogggrrrr!! And looked at sideways to her choir. Jesus! Ive never heard any singer male or female can do what this angel did on that part. Good lord ive been playing that part in million times now!..so good! Thanks Ms Yolanda! God bless you
The hairs were standing so tall on my skin I felt like I could almost fly. This was without a doubt the best performance I've ever seen. Absolutely breathtaking and inspiring. Every motion, every gesture she made transpired human spirit and emotion. She was completely in her element and the performance was simply a marvel to behold. A glorious showcase of musical talent and vocal prowess. Watching it felt for me like being in the presence of greatness.
Without a doubt the Holy Spirit revealed this to you. I receive and accept the authority of the Lord Jesus that came through you.I am thankful that there are true channels of the Lord in the earth.Faith is more precious than gold.
It's 2024 and i never heard this version before. O.M.G. Yolanda is magnificent and captures the heart and soul of this song. Makes you want to cry happy tears of all the possibilities.❤❤❤❤
After hearing this version I realised how amazing this song really is. We're so blessed to have such amazing song writers and singers doing things for God. Jesus made eternal life available for those who believe in Him.
Yolanda Adams I must confess has a Voice that" Arrests" your attention, uplifts your soul and makes you believe anything is possible. She is technically perfect, but what gets you is just the beauty in her voice. God sure blesses his own.
Meu Deus. Arrepiado. ❤
Yolanda was singing to God and i believe God and the angels gave her a standing ovation, because this was just beautiful. The orchestration was outstanding, the choir, orchestra, director. Well done good and faithful servants.
Was watching the concert on ABC. I didn't really know who Yolanda Adams was. But by the time she had finished this song, I was astounded by such a fabulous performance. She was sharing the stage that night with Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Enrique Iglesias, and Nick Carter. If their fans are honest, I think they will have to admit she outshone them all, and believe me, they were good, too. Simply a huge talent.
Ms. Yolanda is an example how to sing the song without any detonations and blind notes. She is the teacher, incredible performer with flawless voice. I adore her talent. Audience has a little bit shock and feeling of celebration while she is singinging.
This is what singing is about. I feel like she is feeling every word, and is letting us know her soul through her voice. Beautiful. And I also love the whole band, and the choir, they all sound beautiful!
Ms. Adams performance was phenomenal. She “sang” that song, every time I listen to it, I get goosebumps. Outstanding performance without breaking a sweat & the choir, made it all more beautiful. Phenomenal singer.
A standing ovation is not enough, take every award from artists from all ages and history and give them to her. Now!! I never really connected to this song till Yolanda. That's how great she is. She takes even the best and worst songs and make you feel like you've met the creator of music.
As I'm writing my exams, I declare over my life that I will never fail, my friends will never fail, my classmates will never fail. In the mighty name of Jesus... I'm really grateful for such a beautiful song...
Just for my reference I used to think that I could not go on And life was nothing but an awful song But now I know the meaning of true love I'm leaning on the ever lasting arms If I can see it Then I can do it If I just believe it There's nothing to it I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky I think about it every night and day spread my wings and fly away I believe I can soar I see me running through that open door I believe I can fly I believe I can fly I believe I can fly See I was on the verge of breaking down Sometimes the silence could seem so loud There are miracles in life I must achieve But first it's got to start inside of me If I can see it Then I can do it If I just believe it There's nothing to it I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky I think about it every night and day spread my wings and fly away I believe I can soar I see me running through that open door I believe I can fly I believe I can fly I believe I can fly Cuz I believe in me, yea, yea, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh If I can see it Then I can do it If I just believe it There's nothing to it, oh I believe I can fly(I can fly) I believe I can fly(I can fly) I believe I can fly(I can fly) I can do anything yea, yea, yea. yea I can fly I can do anything, yea, yea, yea Anything I wanna do(Anything I wanna do) Anything I wanna do(Anything I wanna do) Anything I wanna do(Anything I wanna do) I can do anything I can fly
Yolanda Adams is one of the Queen Gospel Music. And this is what it looks like when gospel vocals are singing. Looks like the moment we are seeing God speak. So Amazing 😍
God this is so powerful I literally get goosebumps and almost tear up every time I hear it especially 3:30 until the end.... the diction, tone, power, emotion, etc. you can literally hear and feel every word as I never have before hearing this song
Want to talk about indescribable? The Jermaine Paul version beats Yolanda's version. Jermaine literally sang this song like his life depended on it. You could literally feel the emotions of this song race through every fiber of your being. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JGqSZm_4Ecw.html
Yolanda Adams is a gift. That voice is also an incredible gift. This is what you call pure excellence. In 2017, I feel as if God is going to give her an even bigger platform than the massive one she has already. There are unborn children who need to hear this voice. Yolanda is incredible!
