Yolanda Adams receives 2014 Essence Festival Gospel Award. Yolanda is a veteran in the gospel genre and music career has spanned almost 30 yrs and continues to thrive well.
Yolanda has received 4 Grammy Awards, 7 Stellar Awards, 2 Dove Awards, the first ever American Music Award in genre Inspiration Music and has sold over 8 million albums worldwide.
Her mainstream success was fueled after the release of Mountains High Valley Low under the direction of former Elektra CEO Sylvia Rhone.
Yolanda has since gone "independent label" however during this Awards event Yolanda received an offer from Sylvia Rhone to do another album together. We hope she takes the offer. Rhone is brilliant and showed great leadership in the career shift of Yolanda Adams
