I don't know what everyone else is talking about Kim delivered very well for someone who was reading the words her voice was beautiful as usual so Kim yes standing ovation
At 7:58 she sings an F#4 in clear, controlled tone. I don't know what you kids want. She has a natural raspy voice-most of us (you) have tried to sound/sing like her for the past two decades, don't unleash all your hate now that you or others may have perfected which she initiated. I prefer more melody, pero, this performance doesn't warrant the hatefulness I've read. You should pray you sound as well as she does at her age and rate of singing.... from alto to soprano, I love her technique.
J Hoard me too ,nobody like Kim got an lot of imitators but shes one of an kind the originator of her own sound I pray that her boldness in her gospel be rewarded in heaven I stand with her she only spoke the world of God not in hate keep preaching truth pastor Burrell .
whew...Kim Burrell!! the quintessential example of vocal prowess....a vocal beast. She absolutely killed that performance....I was blessed and awed at the same time. And she looks great!
As Kim Burrell becomes more popular, she gets more haters but she has come too far to be pulled down by them. Its like stealing a hundred from a millionaire.
This ministered to me in a way beyond what words can describe... The words alone touches me deep in my soul. AMAAAAAAAAAAZING KIM!!!! It clear that she read the words, however it is evident that what she was saying followed from a sincere place. Anointed and done in a way that only Ms. Kim can do. Love love loved this!!!! Tears...
i love Kim Burrell, and she sounded great. I would suggest that for a tribute, preparation is also a form of honor, and for a song so powerful, it was distracting to know the song, but hear her struggling *nicely* around the verses. Yes, she put her own spin on it, but it was obvious she was holding on to reading those words for dear life.
knowing kim personally for many years now, i have seen her look a mess at times lol but to be completely honest i was very satisfied with choices. her makeup was on point and beautiful, her outfit was beautiful and complimented her body very well, i loved it!!!!! and the hair was actually done lol, and yes reading the words was foolish but understandable, we will all have a moment when we want that extra support to be sure, idc how good you are , and she sounded great!
I see a lot of y'all cussing, saying she was reading the words and so forth. the composer(Yolanda Adams) of the song enjoyed the performance, so all of yall comments are irrelevant. Stop criticizing and appreciate, spectactors are always to judge if any of you are able to outshine her performance, then get on bet, essence festival, Sunday's best, bmi awards and perform. Until then, keep y'all filthy negative remarks to yourselves.
Great tribute. Also that sweet little angel and puddin' sittin' behnd her with the pink bow gave me lots of joy. Babies are the best - the bright lights of the world.
I can't believe this video has this many negative comments. This lady's singing is amazing. Stop being so critical you guys! She's not a robot so she's going to make mistakes. If you can't sing at least half as good as her then you should think about keeping the traps closed. IJS
Exceptional, considering she doesn't know the words..she's reading them from the monitor on the floor..I'm always amazed at the artistry when one is singing a song they haven't memorized but yet are able to slay it.
I have to say this.....EVERYONE....and I MEAN EVERYONE on stage during this LIVE PERFORMANCE are TRUE MUSICIANS....it takes skill to Follow a soloist and allow the music to take on the shape it needs....this was a TRUE LIVE PERFORMANCE...SANG KIM
Anybody in their right mind could tell she wasn't at her best but nevertheless she killed!! I'm sure her voice was tired! she probably had been singing all that week but still belted them notes😜👇🏾Yall need to stop hating, her gift speaks for herself! She could never be overrated, more like underrated!! #Houston #TeamKim
Yes, yes! Yolanda Adams has widely done alot, all because of God opening her doors, and her saying, "Yes, I'll do it." My Uncle that passed away used to back up sing for her in Houston (in the 80's) and her days of singing in "The SE Inspirational Choir."
I love Yolanda. Mountain High...Valley Low is a favorite. Kim...really? Do you even know her songs? You read lyrics off the screen. I only know about you because of Whitney. I am sure you were her friend. God bless. Wash of the temporary fame.
So many runs, in so many spots, I wish she would've kept it simple like Yolanda did. Her voice and tone are already unique the simpleness would've brought more feeling and meaning to the song, but instead all the runs just have you lost. But it was still a coo performance.
I agree. Too many of today's singers are obsessed with "runs" which are really called "melisma's" to those who have studied music. To me, runs are sloppy, imprecise substitutes for articulating the notes carefully and well----like all the old-time singers used to do. They distract from the song and are just plain annoying.
