Okay the Yaka Arrow is cool and all but DAMN Is Yondu's whistling skills top tier, the sheer amount of precision he must have to use that thing so efficiently with just his whistle.
Just in case u start to think this is cruel or something, just a reminder that these same ravagers laughed and mocked as they threw other members loyal to Yondu into space to die
Also, all the Guardians are supposed to be more crude and ruthless than the other heroes in the MCU. They operate with a different moral compass than the Avengers and the audience is supposed to adjust.
More then likely wouldent work with the exception of this scean he dosent move when useing it I don’t care what he says later on he’s useing brain to tell it where to go so I doubt he’d be able to control it and open a portao
@@bugwar5545 Sorry no, I just saw a badass Yondo scene with a great song choice. I was entertained and that is enough for me. I missed it and don't get joke and I'm okay with that because I think movies with talking trees and Racoons should be fun and not super deep.
This scene right here is the reason why I always prefer watching the GOTG Trilogy over any other MCU Projects, yes even the Avengers. Cause the GOTG movies I like the characters more than The Avengers and more likeable and root for (no pun inteded) , the settings and environment is creative and looks spectacular, the soundtrack is great, it has some lighthearted and emotional moments especially Rocket's Tragic Backstory in Vol.3, that was just...Woah, that was very dark. The only thing I didn't like are just the villians, I found them to be bland or just forgettable. Otherthan that, I loved watching the GOTG movies, they're fun and entertaining movies that I forget it was also part of MCU. That's how good these movies are.
I love how they used the whistle system, some farmers use with their herding dogs to control the arrow. Something most of, if not all people can say they've seen or heard of, but also a unique ability to showcase. I shudder at the time it took to either learn a system or come up with his own for this part, It's absolutely amazing
For some reason, every time I watch this scene I always feel sorry for the guy who's drinking the beer at 2:40. He's just relaxing after a hard day of space piracy and then someone spills his beer and then kills him.
What I love about this scene, is that if you watch the scene where Yondu loyalists are sent into the vacuum of space, you will notice that you can recognize every single one of the Ravagers Yondu kills being present.
It is crazy to think that 1) Yondu can make his arrow go so fast it catches fire and 2) Taserface dodging said flaming arrow when the entire rest of the crew died to it
Perhaps. But even in the marvel universe there's few immortals. I can respect giving him an honorable death. Not everyone gets retirement, even the good guys ;)
Man I hate these type of “broad spectrum” p3-13 blockbusters, and I’ve not seen 1/3 of “MCU” movies, but this one scene (and a lot of songs that “star lord” has on his mixed tape) are particularly lit
This scene is why they have to write-out script, I mean allow certain OP characters die in movies. Imagine him in a battle scene in Infinity War or Endgame.
I didn't watch the guardians movie can someone explain that deadly arrow to me. Is Yondu the only character that has one? Did he make it? Is it some type of deadly artifact given to him by someone? Does it respond only to whistling or can it act on its own or by someone else's whistling? I don't mind a comic books explanation it doesn't have to be MCU specific
Yondu is the only person we see with this. There’s no explanation for how he got it, but it only works for someone who has the fin implanted in their head. This is why the guy near the beginning woke up, looked over at someone random junk, and started yelling: it’s where the fin was kept to keep it out of Yondu’s hands. Once the fin was implanted, Yondu went on the offensive. This is also a callback to a smaller scene in Guardians of the Galaxy 1. There, Yondu didn’t seem very threatening for the captain of a group of pirates, so there was a scene where he was surrounded by enemies, and he killed the entire group before they could react using this. It established that, while Yondu is generally a pretty chill guy in terms of personality, he’s still very dangerous. This particular scene is a result of his crew mutinying, disarming him, and throwing him into a cell. They betrayed him, so he’s killing them.
Basically the arrow is controlled by a fin attached to the owners head and a series of sounds. So Yondu controls it by whistling certain notes at a certain frequency which directs how it moves. That’s also why Kriglin has the fun in his head to control the arrow later on.
