Here is a review of Yongnuo YN560II flash. This is the newer version of YN560. This has the LCD screen and is much user friendly. You'll find a quick size comparison between Nikon SB700 vs Nikon SB910 vs YN560II. It's a great flash for the price. I had no major issues using it. The couple of issues I had I've discussed in the video.

I have the Yongnuo Flash Yn-560 and I do a lot of off-camera-flash photography... so before you put the flash on the stand, you can go either full power or 3/4 of power, then you control the amount of light that will enter your camera via aperture and shutter speed and also light sensitivity through the ISO, that way you dont need to do go back and forth to on the stand like a novice to set the flash power...

Hi I like your videos a allot. I also have the YN 560 and can say that the optical slaves modes do work very well and the they are very good flashes I have two YN 560s and one YN460II. S1 is a simple optical trigger and S is for working with TTL flashes.

good review on the yongnuo. one of my friends recommended the flash for my d70s.i see that it doesn't swivel 360 but as long as it tilts so i can bounce is cool. how do you feel about using it with the Gary Fong diffuser (lamp shade) why or why not?

I just wanted to say thank you for making these video's !!! I spent 2 yrs. in photography school and I have learned more in the last week from watching you then in school. I do have one question, Would I have any problems using 2 of these in a church with low light mounted on stands? I'm really struggling with low light but on i'm on a tight budget. What would you suggest?

Had my yn560s for 2yrs. Really good budget flashes. Im not a pro but i love em. The version 2 is cool but i know my flashes well enough the lcd is unnecessary. I can adjust settings in the dark without a lcd. For a 1/4 of the price of canon or nikon its a no brainer. The yn560 is built as good as nikon and canon, all manual so its going to force you to learn. TTL is for babies, manual is the best way to learn anyway.

I own three of these, and I have no issues with powers on the fly. Just plan your shots, and use your aperture.

yeah i have the canon 430 ex ii, which has ettl and the af assist beam, but i use it mostly off camera. so i will definitely be getting one of these to pair with my 430 ex ii

I have a canon 580EX II and a 430EX. I bought the YN560 II and ended up buying 2 more. Been using them for almost a year and a half now, and they work just like the canon flashes. The downside are very minimal to almost insignificant. I'm ben thinking of even selling my two canon flashes now and getting two more of this flash.

I also just got this item .. super satisfied :) but I have a question about high speed sync: my d3200 can only be used at 1/200 shutter speed with the flash. I also see that many of the higher level cameras have the same sync speed. If I where to buy a sb 700 will high speed sync work with that ? And when is next video coming out :)

Yea you are a good teacher .. I'm sticking with my d3200 for 5-10k more shots. but I think its missing a lot of important features like bracketing and now high speed sync. also not so good with high iso (800 seams to be pushing it ..) but I guess I will know myself what to get when I'm ready :) btw I watched all your videos :)

I also have this flash. I had a great experience with the older models so when this came out, I wanted it so bad. Bought it brand new, but the first time I tried to use the flash wide diffuser it broke. Doh!

This is my opinion but this type of flash i think is better for a non experienced person becuase its all manual, its going to force you to learn the real dynamics of light, flash powers, distance, f stop, iso, shutter etc. An expensive nikon sb is only going to handycap you and slow you down. If you have a subject at 5ft away from your flash, how much power do you set your flash to??? You will never learn that with a ttl flash.

I have the Yongnuo Flash Yn-560 III & My flash works fine it's just when I'm in dark places it can't focus in on the subject.. The red light doesn't go off which i know that helps with it & because I have a Canon 550D I can't manually control it on the camera. I have it on one of the M settings & it will work if there is a lot of light. But not In night clubs or dark places Where as if i change it to the other M setting with all the channels the red thing flashes.

Anyone starting out will find working strictly in manual flash mode very frustrating. I don't care how cheap this flash is if a newbie is frustrated with it it will only get them to not use it or even stop taking photographs all together. There are times when using a strictly manual flash it totally fine but you need experience and knowledge to use it properly. Buy used if you can not afford a new flash made by your camera manufacturer, even other third party flashes will save you money and still not frustrate you by only allowing you to work in manual.
