Shooto is a hybrid art and combat sport combining kickboxing, judo and catch wrestling.Shootfighting(the Bart Vale art if I'm not mistaken?) is a hybrid art consisting of kickboxing, thai boxing, jujutsu and catch wrestling.Rarely do shootists and shootfighters crosstrain in anything else because hybrid arts are the way to go.
Ah, the early days of grappling, when no one knew what the hell the guard was, SHOOTO has pillows for gloves, and it seemed JKD/SHOOTO was going to be a big combat sport before MMA was born.
What's your problem? How come are you so sure about a good JKD player would've broke his leg? Here, Nakamura merely demonstrates a portion of techniques for shooto competition. There's no hypocracy at all.
i was thinking 'poor boy in blue t shirt, he will be gone to hospital after this demo' ..... but..... OMFG he's Ron Balicky!!! i'm extremely sorry sifu. now i'm going to do my 200 push up for punishment
JKD is not a style it's a philosophy, so it can not be measured in the same way as Shoot, which is a style. One can not apply Shoot to JKD, but rather one may apply JKD to Shoot.
I love the Catch Wrestling style submission game he has, reminiscent of Fujiawara. Within the context of mma how was Yori's submission grappling abilities in dealing with pure wrestlers or BJJ fighters?
yeah you probably wouldn't enjoy fighting him lol. but I'm a lot better than you think. I fight people close to this guy's skill. I loose to them, but I sure as hell love the fight. I live to fight good fighters.
+b0n3z27 Right because attacks dont happen in real life. After all in a real situation you may be awoken in the middle of the night and find yourself in a boxing ring with a trained fighter matched up by weight and with a ref to make sure both of you are ready to fight fair.
