Great to see you guys back running - and this video revived memories of a very foggy Ingleborough when I did the Y3P a few years back!

Thank you 👍 Ingleborough, foggy? Who would have thought! It’s been like that pretty much every time we’ve been up there. There’s not been many occasions where we’ve seen any views. It’s such a flat plateaux that I can see why many struggle to find the trig!

Excellent video! That is a stiff comeback run after the lurgy! 3 Peaks is a classic route. Had my best ever race there in 2002. It was however, the start and end of a disastrous season for me. Moral of the story, you don't want to be peaking in April 😆 Enjoy the Lakes 👍

Thanks Johnny. Love the route having done it quite a few times now. We even did a double and a triple though yet to go all out for the quad. That’ll take some doing 😂 We’ve also yet to do it as a race. Should really, if not only for the alternative route up Whernside. I see you also have a channel, will take a look later 👍

A nice watch, thank you. My partner and I ran this for the first time in September and loved it. Weather looked pretty much the same although we had high winds on the tops. It was brilliant fun. We’re hoping to get back there again at some point to hopefully enjoy some mist-free views 🤞 I spotted your VAGA hat in the sales Cheryl. I’m very tempted, but ordered a fleece hat and club cap from them instead. My first hats from their brand but looking forward to trying them out 😁

Thank you, such a great route isn’t it? I don’t think we could ever tire of it. I think we need to enter the actual race at some point as that would give an alternative feel to it. As for Vaga caps, we both love them. So light and comfortable!

Not everyone's idea of a convalescence run! Well done. I recall doing it on a similarly wet day some years ago, and having to get myself off the top of Whernside mighty quick to get out of a thunderstorm.
@TrailRunningCouple

We thought the same around 16 miles in, the last 8 being somewhat difficult. Still, spending time out in fantastic places really does help. We’ve yet to be caught in a thunderstorm, hopefully it stays that way! Thank you 😊

Looked great , love your videos . In the lakes for the trail events marathon in April and can’t wait to get my first taste of running there , hoping the weather is onside for it and I get the views 🤞 also it will be a family hol weekend there and look forward to seeing Keswick . Random question what is your common shoe make choice for the fells ? I’ve just bought the peregrine 13 which seem nice and grippy and I have the exodus ultras which have been great 👍
@TrailRunningCouple
@TrailRunningCouple 8 месяцев назад
You’ll have a brilliant time in the Lakes, I’m sure of it. Views are always an added bonus but don’t always expect them 😂 Fingers crossed though! We had Peregrine 11’s which I liked, Cheryl not so much. Our shoes of choice are probably between Inov8 (Trailfly G270’s, Trailfly G280 Ultras, X-Talon G260 Ultra v2’s), Altra Lonepeaks and Hoka Speedgoat 5’s. The Hokas were perfect for Lakeland 100 👍 Thank you.

Good god Cheryl, you sound rough. Dont hate me for saying this but i think you should have taken another 2 weeks off before this run. Laughed hard when Gary said he enjoyed the quiet. Anyway another great video. I'll defintitely will do this route this year. In the summer though. You know me by now.....I hate mud at the moment 😂
@TrailRunningCouple

Thanks Andy. Don’t worry, she’s fine 😉 Got a few runs to do in the Lakes so nothing a few full English breakfasts prior won’t sort out. As for the Y3P’s, I’m surprised you have yet to do the route. When you do get around to it I’m sure you’ll love it. You can always give us a shout when you’re free and get can have a little bimble over them 👍

@@TrailRunningCouple Yes, it's strange I've never done the Y3P's. Dont know why to be honest. Sure i'll let you know when I'm doing it. Need to build up my speed first 😆

There won’t be any speed, just a leisurely day out. Always have to save some for Ingleborough!

What a lovely surprise to see an upload from you two. I'm glad you're back at it. Looking forward to more journey's. You guys look well rested. Maybe it was good you took a few weeks off.

Thank you so much, needed the rest but definitely forced rather than chosen. I think 16 miles would have been around right today, the last 8 became difficult but it’ll come back I’m sure. Thanks again ☺️

Great video as always! A quick question, how did you go on replenishing water, I want to attempt a solo run in May time and I’m a little concerned about replenishing my flasks, I could carry more water than the litre and a filter I usually do, but just don’t fancy the extra weight 😂. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Ryan
@TrailRunningCouple
@TrailRunningCouple 7 месяцев назад
Hi Ryan, thank you 😊 On this occasion we didn’t need any top ups. We both drank less than 500ml. However, there’s a stream we use before the road section that takes you to Whernside and again just before the start of the climb to Whernside. Between Whernside and Ingleborough there’s Philpin Farm where you’ll find a vending machine and then another source near the top of the steep rocky climb to Ingleborough. We use filter flasks for any pick ups. Best of luck for your attempt, it’s a great route👍

@@TrailRunningCouple I’ve been floored by the lurgy! I think it’s properly doing the rounds and it seems to be taking ages to go! But sometimes you just need to get out! Enjoy your time in the lakes ☺️

This route is on my bucket list. How much is car parking there?
@TrailRunningCouple
@TrailRunningCouple 8 месяцев назад
Hi Alan, it’s a great route 👍 Parking is £5.50 all day but get there early. The carpark fills up very quickly and only has around 80 spaces.

I've walked this multiple times and it takes me around 6 hours to complete. I'm interested in how long it took you two, though you clearly weren't racing.

Hi Carl, on this occasion it was 5hrs 29mins total. Usually we’re closer to 5hrs. Neither of us are fast runners though 👍
