At the young age that he is grasping knowledge, he is going to be better than us in a few years. And that is a great thing. A lot of us learn through trial and error, but he's learning from true knowledge
Acid Team, Not sure if I gave a happy new year to you all however happy belated new year. Yes I like the fact the Xmax factor is pointed out, there's also the Bl. Noah I have to say I like your knowledge with humbleness to explain to those who may not know about these things. Looking forward to seeing more great events your all involved in with more additional videos & interviews. I corey aka platinumprovocateur from over here in 🇬🇧 London Have model my little machine around all the videos and interviews shown by acid am well pleased Yes there's been trial & error's but positive still. Keep up the good work in keeping the sound system culture alive bless. Oh would you guys still be coming UK 🇬🇧 as know when spoke to kutty aka qualitex advised last year was cancelled hope to see you guys. Also understand Fred Tate mega force alongside few other looking to put a concept of balled together still. Once I know right one think myself and Bredrin will fly out as be nice to be there live as well as support. Bless 🙏🏾👍🏾
Thanks for watching…I appreciate the encouragement. They are suppose to still be doing it but in a different venue. once it’s settled new flyer should be up
The 18” speaker to that will sound so good in a 24”x24”x48” scoop, and is true you don’t need plenty power to move those speakers they sensitivity is good.
Wow, I wish I had a father like that, but anyhow he still did good , I’m still because I’m still alive . Seeing is the young fiddle knows about the ins and outs and the mechanics of the speaker then all he needs now is make brand-new enclosure that will give the speaker more singing range . Next step design, your own sub kick mids and tops to reach A New future…..
Xmax (millimeters) - Excursion Limit Speaker's voice coil moves up and down in the magnetic gap and if the coil moves too far it will produce distortion as the impact of the magnet to control the voice coil movement reduces. Typically Xmax = ((height of voice coil) - (height of magnetic gap)) / 2.
They also have a place in Miami Fl chiney Jamaican own it. Called lase they make replacement woofers and amp modules for the yorkville very close to original if not sound better
I also took a look at the blast king graph it have a very steep rolloff from 90 hz down to 30hz . I much rather have that speaker into a front horn loaded box than a rear horn loaded box . If your speaker or box cannot reproduce 30hz at +|- 3db in these modern times you are missing a lot of musical bass notes in your system. By adding a peavy or DBX bass synth does not enhance the lower frequencies if the speaker box cannot reproduce it , all you are doing is enhancing the frequencies the box can reproduce, I call this a one note wonder box. I am not bashing anyone just a little education in speaker box building.. nuff respect…
X Max of 9mm for a 21' speaker is a joke thing that speaker not fit. good 15' you can get 10-12mm. The young man know is stuff for real. I personally when buying a bass driver the first thing I check is the Xmas, frequency then watts last. One of the most brutal bass speaker in the UK the PD 1850 is only 800w
Great video my intake on this is that the bk is better reason i say this i got a friend who have the After market yorkville es 801p amplifier in the yorkville box and the original speaker cant take it he had to load the Bk profile 18 and that change everything louder n heavier bass with a sweeter tone ..
Not knocking Blast King , but it cannot compare to B&C The B&C is a neo tall coil, not ferrite magnet. Yorkville box not gonna sound like original. Not familiar w/ this box , but processing for Blast King driver is different too. Man haffi do what him haffi do still
We have GOOD BETTER BEST - your probably like me...I'm going to go with the best specs for the box and my budget. But this was for a customer and that's what he wanted to use.
Respect bro, another thing, I would love to see a picture of the inside of Yorkville subwoofer cabinet, I'm curious to find out why they play that good for prefab box...
Xmax doesn't matter. Cone mass and BL and reference efficiency make all the difference. I can blow out candles with my o,d yamaha 4115 mark 2's where the cone xmax on the 15 is 5 mm.. the 9 mm is one way, so total cone movement is 18 mm.
Reference efficiency on that 21 is 2.2 percent.I recommend Precision Devices drivers - reference efficiencies up to 4 percent - same power- double the output by 3 db
Yow mi nah like Noah enuh jezam christ di man just say weh him say knowledge overload him know more than most so call sound man blessing youth might need you down the road for some knowledge.
