@@wolfjohnson5130 He is in high ranks. You need to know the character back to front, and you really can't wing a match-up, you need to know who you're facing and what you're doing at all times. But, at the same time, even if you lose, you know you partied hard.
F Girão you’d be surprised he’s harder than you realise because he lacks consistency most times so a lot of things that should work with him actually don’t work 100% of the time it happens to the top yoshi’s a lot but with how fun the character is yoshi players will fight on and yes I main yoshi on 2k games so I’ve been in and seen enough situations to know myself how painful it can be with yoshi sometimes but the fun factor still outweighs the problems yoshi has.
Lots of "yoshi experts" in the chat lol. Just to clear up some things: we cant respect frames because we dont have good frames, so when it looks like were just mashing, were trying to low profile or use moves that avoid opponents attacks so we can land a ch. We dont have the luxury of + frame pressure. Next, flash isnt broken. It's actually launch publishable, which is why halfway decent yoshis dont spam it...and no flash isn't unblockable. No yoshi doesnt have good damage. His damage is considerably less than most of the cast...for example, fahkumram's df2,3 can get over 70 dmg. Yoshis df2 gets 58 with an easy staple and barely over 60 when you use cd1 as the second hit, which you have to commit to because df2 isnt hit confirmable enough to put cd1 in after you see it. Also, his "backsway unblockable" is so slow that you can whiff an attack, then put out a launcher and still beat the move. You can also sidestep it super easily. What this yoshi is really good at is using things he knows mainman doesnt know counters for, so he makes them look overpowered. Yoshi is an extremely underpowered character compared to most of the cast and I challenge anyone to pick him up and see how good you actually do.
YOSHI_MEAT_SOUP sup, fellow Yoshi.... give his damage some credit.... he does 70 pretty easily with his qcf1 enders...... and his oki setups can boost the damage up even more (with risk of course).. he’s definitely mid tier, but easily a super buffer version compared to the last few Yoshi’s we got
yoshi has decent damage now but in previous seasons it was pretty bad. the qcf1 being guaranteed is pretty nice. he's not underpowered he just takes serious knowledge of his kit and the matchup to really shine. and a lil madness. his tier position changes completely depending on what you know and your freestyle abilities.
@@voodustyle I play yoshimitsu on Tekken 6 BR and let me tell you... He has simple combos that lead to half life. In terms of damage output, Yoshimitsu in Tekken 7 has the weakest damage output compared to both past versions of himself and even the rest of T7's roster. Here's a quick comparison: T7 Yoshi: d/f 2 cd 1 d/f 1 b1 cd 2! qcf 1 (guaranteed unblockable) Damage: 70 Mind you that this optimal staple takes advanced execution to nail this combo T6 Yoshi: d/f 2, 2. f 1+2! B 2, 1 KIN f 2 Damage: 85 And yes, in terms of life bar percentage, T6 Yoshi almost half-life's a character with his combo than T7 Yoshi does.
@@AngeloGene it is truly is struggeling sometimes, especially when the opponent has match-up knowledge for yoshi, but playing him is fun like no other character. you need a creative day tho. and this yoshi is really good. tmm sould finally play him
Plus the fact yoshi can be inconsistent as fuck to the point you see eye musician and oyo both scratch there head when certain things don’t land when they really should land 😂
This Yoshi player is soo inspiring really. I have been learning Yoshimitsu since long time ago and he's very hard because of the precision and variety of moves and stances. I have played over 80 ranked matches and barely got to Marauder rank.
@@ducksoles1276 i meant it relatively it isnt a lot. It is something OP shouldnt shame himself for because a 80 win marauder isnt bad for someone that is new
Losing to a good Yoshi is an honor, in my opinion. He's hard to master. His attacks in general does low damage. Yes he is quick, but that also makes it easier to fuck up. He's compensated with many unblockable moves, only fair (again, my opinion). Instead of sulking over Yoshi, try him out and practice his movelist, either to counter him, or simply just to experience his difficulty.
FyreBurst yeah I saw that. He was playing against green rank folk and mashing df2 the whole time. I want to see him even try to learn/use these so-called “easy” flowcharts. As a Yoshi main, I know they’re not easy lol
Cero_Oscuras TMM is pretty good with most of the roster. Chill with the hate dude. If you don’t like his content you don’t have to watch. I’m no fan girl, but there’s no need for name-calling
@@EkipsspiegeL Really? I would've thought more people had read at least a little of the series. And I just realized what your name backwards is, you sneak.
Grandpa Noogie Yeah I would have thought more people would notice as well given that its a popular manga series. Oh my god you’re also the first one to notice what my name is backwards haha. Good catch, you get full marks^^
3:48 This is actually quite a common Yoshi setup. Rage drive into Cd1 makes sense, because the pushback on block from rage drive depending on how deep you hit it makes it more difficult to whiff or block punish, therefore reducing the risk of CD1.
But yea, if the player is not aware and if youve noticed that rd hitted at tip range, you get safer, cd1 is pratically safe at tip range and makes people whiff like green ranks
Loved every bit of this stream. It's not because the MainManSwe was losing to a really good Yoshi player but because of watching MainMan's expressions they were hilarious 😂😂😂😂
I’m new to tekken trying to main yoshi this is inspiring I’ve been labbing for hours before going into the ranked jungle I hope to be decent one day this is dope
Desired Name a little bit different art style in my opinion. Eye likes to use that standing heal move a lot to create space, also if you pay attention he execute some combos slowly on purpose. This yoshi is unique too, fast paced and a tad bit more aggressive. what you may be seeing is some common combos. But they have different set ups.
As a Jin main, there were so many times in this video where I just cringed at combo execution and wall carry. Against Yoshi, as Jin, you should be applying as many pressure tools as possible. Once the Yoshi player started flashing, he knew TMM would give him enough space to where he could run him over in neutral and wake up situations. TMM's best rounds were where he was maximizing wall damage and using plus frames and pushback of Jin's electric effectively to reset momentum and prevent being flashed.
I tried to learn Yoshi a couple of months ago. I'm not very familiar with the character. I know his inputs but I have little knowledge when it comes to his general gameplan or setups. It was insanely hard to win with him, so I decided to drop him lol.
@@parry3439 well you can't, if you start playing aggressive against such high levels the chance you don't even won a round in 5 matches are huge can't just be swinging specially against a yoshi he has so many counters
To every Tekken player, Yoshi is either a "weak gimmick character with poor fundamentals" or he has "OP moves" like his backsway and flash. What I hear no one talking about is his Yoshi has probably the best Oki in the game. Standing up? Windmill or unlockable low into juggle. Laying down? CD1 until you move THEN windmill for guaranteed damage.
*You know TMM is serious and in the zone when TMM tilts his head just a tiny bit down, eye brows in and has a glance steer that he means business. Hehe*
jin can parry swords and unblockables..even flash...i parry flash with master raven..jin can even parry flash and hopkick..and zen into long range kick is a good option
Tmm just watches while yoshimitsu hovers and waits for the enemy to attack him from above when it can easily be countered by throwing a punch. What a dufus!
Attention all Yoshi mains 8:14 this combo is super unoptimised if you manage to RA2 any jumping attacks, like this slash kick, damage scaling stays at 70% until the combo ends or your opponent hits a wall i think the optimal is 3~4U, DGF 4; f+3+4, FLE 2
Wow! This is what you called... Tekken Fundamentals! A whole new research must be done in a calculated but scientific way of approach opponents. Wow!!! I need this in order to be so much fun!!!
@9:43 omg, MainMan started playing a 3D fighter, side stepped somethings i have trouble getting around when fighting yoshi! That round (so far) just helped me understand the character matchup so much better! holy crap! It wasn't super dominate, but ebough to make me realize when i should side step and punish yoshi players and their flowcharts.
If I saw correctly in chat, this yoshi is top1 polish yoshi, and top10 polish player! No wonder he was so strong... Love the vid too, amazing plays as always :)
The reason why I main yoshi, is because of the unblockables he has up to 10+ unblockables making it hard for his attack to be block, and some of his unblockables can be used to set up combos
What's with yoshi players having a million different play style. Goddamn it's amazing how versatile a yoshi can be. This player never sheathed his sword once, atleast I have never noticed. It's like every yoshi has their own version of the character.
Actually that unblockable is super bad, even though it looks like it tracks like Jack's f 1+2, it's actually hilariously easy to sidestep, they're just letting it rip when you're trying to retaliate making it seem better than it is. I hate using it because I eat sidestep into launch like its cookies.
Yoshi as a character is a prime example of, no matter how low tier you are, the player is what matters. Yoshi being low tier means nothing nowadays lol
Disadvantage of playing so many characters. Utilizing only key moves If you wanna compete against someone who's jerking off to every single fucking move in their movelist at times of need, you need to do the same with your own character
I am telling people that yoshi at a high level can beat any body. He can disappear, and use his fist of blade. He teleports, and can heal himself. He is so hard to use, but when used properly can fuck shit up.
yoshi isn't a flowchart character - he's mindgame and intimidation character with a big toolbox of niche commands this particular yoshi was damn good but spammed too many spins in aerial combos for wall carry but poorly scaled damage and didnt land many KIN f2. kinda panicked in the corner. he was however amazing at d2 into NSS mix ups and combos. yoshis db1 is a strange looking attack and closes a lot of distance and the same goes for fubuki knee into back turned flash. yes you can flash from back turned as well as the evasive spins that damage yoman flash is extremely fast but isnt broken by a long shot and it's not a parry. unless your hurtboxes are touching AND characters are moving towards each other, flash will whiff. lots of people try to force its range by doing NSS jump ins or just one or two of any of his spins, but flash's main purpose is to punish opponents who are aggressively pushing you or punish characters whos limbs hurtboxes linger on top of yoshi's after a big whiff or block punish like off a spring kick. block yoshis spin attacks at the wall or youll eat a lot of splats into rough okizeme and unblockables. DGF 1 is a great round stealer and hits grounded but just float him or tech to the side
Main Man has to study this match up more so he doesnt keep getting ate up by these high rank Yoshis lol. He needs to get Yoshi to TGP, we would all love to see that!
