Thats not correct. Chitin Is safe unless you aré allergic to it. crustaceans have chitin too and people dont seem to bother eating lobsters or shrimp.

Clone Clonenstein yeah, but those intestines have been cleaned, and you don't eat the stomach or the large intestine, also cows don't have a keratin exo skeleton that gets ground up into a crispy powder. It's the same thing that rhinoceros horns are made from and if I were to eat rhino (given that they weren't endangered) that's not a part I'd like to eat. I guest my main problem with it is how the animals haven't been butchered before hand, no one has cut it open and separated the meat, inspected it for defects or disease and cleaned it.

At either rate - you are feeding the locusts tons of food and then using lots of electricity or toxic elements to kill them off en masse. it's not an efficient food resource - especially since, unlike cattle, they do not produce while they are alive.

plant protein is often more land and/or water intensive to produce. For instance many vegan sources of protein use more water then even some meats if I remember correctly lints use about as much water as beef per protein.

However due to climate emissions meat would have to be synthetically produced. Also we don't have unlimited water which would even in vertical farming be a concern and vertical farming is substantially more energy intensive when producing say corn
