Thank you so much for sharing you bass fishing knowledge with me. Like you I have been bass fishing over 50 years. Everyone out there should be thankful we have a great teacher to help us with with are skills and increase our knowledge on bass fishing. I am also old school I like to figure it out on my on. My electronics are basic and they do the job. I have learned so much watching your videos. I want thank you for your time and knowledge you have given me. You are one of a kind. Your the best. It's not about how many tournaments you win its about the knowledge you have to get there. Thanks again Mike G.
I was really surprised to see the translucent shad color as your favorite. I accidentally found out how good this color was in cold water a couple years ago. Your video just confirmed what a lucky find I had.
Does it really matter if you're using a flatside crank in cold weather? Is it all just a marketing tool for companies? Because truthfully, I've caught as many fish on a regular crank/squad bill as a flat side.
This will help open your mind as to fish the moment advice only the bass know ,we have to experiment always trying something different .Randy helps save time giving a different angle changing your outcome.
Yup, I’m one of those guys you’re talking about. Never would I have tried that color in the dirty water I fish most often. I can’t wait to try this. Thanks again for “the juice”Randy. Awesome channel.
I've been using translucent cranks for cold water (40-50degree) since the beginning. Learned it by accident. Lost my craw colored plug and only had a glassminnow colored plug with me. Tied it on and caught more and bigger fish.
Biggest limit I’ve had in the winter 30+ was on a shad color wart on LOZ. Sad part was the tournament was canceled because of weather. We had 2 7.5lbs and 2 over 6 it’s was an unbelievable day.
Will have to give it a shot, usually fairly stained water here in the spring. I have usually used A Fire Tiger Mann's baby 1 Minus or a White Blue back Normans baby N. I do have some. Poe's, flat side in a Craw pattern but have not had much success with them!
really weird because last year I figured out that a clear shad color worked best for me for some reason and then u said that and I was like shocked cause I just thought that was maybe just a personal choice or maybe confidence color but guess not and reassuring that u had same experience so pretty cool to see that.
I have mainly fished this color on sunny days and really clear water, but will follow your advice on fishing it in more stained water and other conditions.
The flat sided square billed crankbaits don't rise as fast as the fat crankbaits so you can crank them a little slower so they stay deeper in the zone .
Why do you think the translucent color works so well in cold water regardless of visibility? I'm just curious. I started fishing in colder water this year. I've always waited until later in the year to fish but had some success this year in colder conditions. Thank you.
Good morning Randy, I am wondering if that shad color and size is a good choice for a herring baitfish lake. I am up in the North Carolina mountains and live near Lake Glenville. I have not seen shad in this lake yet. I am new up here. I guess a herring shape and translucent bluish purple back would be a good choice here. Thanks for another good tip. George,
I live in SC and fished January in the snow and water temps in the 30s. First time I’ve seen those water temps in our waters. I guess I should have been throwing this bait because most of the field struggled.
Listening to Florida weigh in's earlier. Have to admit, all predictions (in fantasy fishing), were these giant hundred pound plus bags. And on day two, there was one definite edge to the mood at that weigh in. Because something like half the field. Were bunched together fishing off of one piece of limited shoreline. A few others had done complicated lock gate journeys that took hours. And one of the older anglers said it. There was a minor shad spawn happening at first light in Florida (where the ninety anglers were hitting places around an hour after the early morning bite had finished). Other anglers finding, they could catch ninety percent of their weight. Almost in the last half hour. When the bite returned (it happened to John Soukup on Kissimmee Toho lakes exactly the same). He left biting fish to make a weigh in. And this morning, Kenta Kimura seemed to find the tail end of it (that Michael Iaconelli was on yesterday). Kenta lands twelve bass in a couple of hours. A fish per each ten minute block of time or less. Whatever pattern that is. It's going on again today. And no one has really zero'ed in on what that is. The fantasy fishing weights never showed up. It's an event that is suiting Rick Clunn though. An angler who has capabilities to fish. When there is not much of a bite. Gerald Swindle did mention the fish he found on electronics. And it was still not possible to catch. Both Florida events have somewhat shown that up. Events in which the instruments and equipment do play a part. Or those events where it does not.
Say what? Really? If you say so. I always went for a hot pink, chartreuse or orange. All black seemed to work. Translucent colors, you got me on that one. I will try that this year for sure!
Will try tomorrow randy. Spent 4 hours on tenkiller yesterday 45 degree water no takers on reds and solid shad patterns. May just be a little early for the crank bite which is my favorite way to catchem
Sitting here watching Bass Master,Harris chain. Hartman has the same luck with Kayaks as I do. It was shown to me years ago that in dirty water clear and translucent can be seen. That's why I'm dirty water I'll use a tinted line. So translucent baits do work, I've even used translucent worms!
Maybe the reason you’re not getting all the subscribers that view your videos is because not everyone logs into RU-vid. If they’re like me they just watch videos and don’t comment or like anything. This is my first comment ever and I’m subscribing now because your videos are educational and to the point. Thanks.
Really appreciate the steady stream of content. The style of videos really suits me. This channel has helped me greatly increase my knowledge of bass fishing. Ready for Spring.
Randy is just going over what a I have known all along. My two stables in crank are a natural and a chartreuse. Either or you cannot go wrong. Where you can go wrong is sticking to Megabass for cranks or a flatside for winter. Eh, who the fook am I?
