@@John-Scott Krillin only died three times. Once against King Piccolo's henchmen Tambourine, once against Freeza, and then when Buu blew up the planet. Goku never promised to teach anyone any of his moves.
@@The_AuraMaster In the Funimation dub, Krillin asked Goku to teach him how to do the Kaioken, and Goku agreed. Krillin then said "do you promise?" And again, Goku agreed. Look up the end of Goku vs Nappa to see for yourself.
Buu didn't want to actually blow up,his self destruction was just a distraction,he disappeared for 1 hour so that goten and trunks could fuse again(fusion has a 1 hour cooldown),he taunted the boys and asked them to turn into gotenks, then he absorbed gotenks cause of his power and piccolo for his wisdom, then he started to clap gohan until goku arrived and tried to save the day.
@@Manglet762 It worked perfectly well it was never meant to kill his opponent it was simply to give his enemy's time to refuse so he could absorb them because he knew that an hour needed to pass
Negative Fat Buu did an explosion technique on this scale though clearly not as powerful as Super Buu before Vegeta did his Final Explosion move. "Big Power" in a low voice by Fat Buu in the OG dub still gives me chills. It's even shown again in DBZ Fighterz by Fat Buu.
Road to the chamber was composed by Julius Dobos. Out for the 300 tracks from the american soundtrack, only a handful was composed by Faulconer, and the most memorable ones arent among them.
This is SUCH a good moment. Up till this point, Buu has either been screwing around or wild rage. Hell he'd just recently screamed his way out of another dimension cuz he wanted candy. This was one of, if not, the first time we saw a calm, collected and calculating Buu who very clearly was cooking up something diabolical.
@propanenaccessories i see what you're saying i mean specifically for his line. He just got through screeching at the top of his lungs and after that started convulsing and whatnot. But for that single instant: "You're missing the point..." His tone of voice. The sudden change in demeanor. Not even bothering to charge Gohan. Though to your point, how calm can you truly be when you're about to explode😅
@@DeepShadedGlassesGuy it's like you realise it's not random. it's not a wild beast. it's not a moron who doesn't know better. Buu is calculating. He isn't misguided. He's evil. a pure evil that we now know can definitely think things thorugh and chooses it anyway. dragon ball is good at having unapologetic evil.
@user-xo8pz4yp8b sure frieza was more destructive but he didn't have any sense of unhingedness about him. He threw tantrums but they were never a complete 180 the way Super Buu was here(imo)
Buu is the smartest and most savvy dbz villain. He is the only one to have consistently fought enemies stronger than him and found ways to come out on top.
This voice of Buu is from the original english version that aired on TV and was on VHS/DVD before thet remastered it. This voice was definitely more menacing
@@blob5907 Kai isn’t the only time they remastered Z. This clip is from the original Funimation broadcast where they put a filter on his voice to make it deeper. The remastered Z has the same voice actors but they removed the filter on his voice.
@@vesha6274Idk, I wouldn't call Kai a "downgrade in every meaningful way" like the other guy, but to say everything but the music is better in kai seems a bit subjective. Kai is definitely paced better, but I also remember watching Kai airing as a teenager and being disappointed by a number of changes.
@@pptemplar5840 as someone that has no nostalgic connections towards the Funimation dub I can confidently say that Kai is better in everything besides music
@@dirtyrandy2592 Buu *could* be scary but he mostly was this primal animal type of thing who could turn people into candy. Maybe I'm just weird but I think drinking people until their flesh rots away is scarier than turning people into cookies lol
Zamasu was a far more interesting character than Buu ever was! Sorry, but next to Cell and Frieza Buu felt like filling. To me, the greatest villain of the franchise is Moro.
@@philhenderson3516 I agree that Buu wasn't exactly deep, but Zamasu wasn't exactly interesting either. Dude just had a literal god complex and thought himself better than everyone else, even tho people like Frieza already tower over him in terms of power. Doesn't get more delusional than that. Frieza himself is fun to watch, but especially back in DBZ he was the most stereotypical in terms of villains. Cell was pure joy to watch. Just a monster who achieved perfection and wanted to experience a challenge before killing everyone.
His master plan to get stronger was pretty smart, taunting the kids to turn into gotenks and then absorb him and piccolo isn't something you would expect from a simple minded monster like buu.
Yeah no way. Kid Buu beat his chest like a monkey and made stupid voices all the time without saying the one sentence he had the right way. At least this guy acted like he knew what he was doing lol.@@VegitoRules1.0
Kid Buu frame 1 after coming to existence IMMEDIATELY went to blow up the planet for no real reason whilst Cell was being backed into a corner with his genetic Saiyan pride on the line that he needed to have the last laugh. Yet there’s still people that say other anime characters could take Kid Buu smh.
Buu must deep down lowkey have some respect for Vegeta lol. He saw Vegeta do it to him and even though it did literally nothing in the long run he couldn't help but think to himself "damn that's kinda hard i might cop that"
Buu was a force of evil all on its own. It had no aspirations like Freeza. It had no agenda like Cell. It just wanted to eat and destroy just because it could
@@josipfiala3656 isn't he just mirroring the vegeta's sacrifice scene? "You are a fool! I am going to crush you and throw you into the wind!" turns into "stupid boy! You will pay!" Even the reaction is the same, confident ignorance which turns into a "OMG wtf I done goofed!" once they realize what is happening.
Man, this actually is spooky, like watching a crackhead in an entertainment district on a Friday night. He's just bouncing back and forth between inexplicable rage and cackling laughter for reasons that only make sense in his own head, and you can't figure out if he's about to actually do something stupid till it's too late. Props to the actors and crew for nailing the tension in this scene.
I believe his point was it doesnt matter if Mystic Gohan was stronger than Super Buu 1v1. As long as Buu can regenerate he can keep doing Final Explosions and win just by annihilating all life on Earth. Gohan might have been able to win a battle but he sure lost the war here. Bro might have been insane but his logic was sound.
I don't think ordinary ki or physical attacks even work on Buu. You needs something like Genki or God ki powers to actually kill Majin Buu. Which is why the Spirit bomb worked against him.
Vegeta pulls a Vegeta, then Buu pulls a Vegeta, Gohan pulls a Vegeta, Gotenks pulls a Vegeta. Everybody wants to copy Vegeta and that Super Saiyan swagger.
1:22 I remember as a kid that immediately got my attention. I went from laughing thinking Gohan was about to destroy Buu and immediately realized he wasnt playing 😂
One thing that never got pointed out explicitly in the show: Buu kept copying techniques other fighters used on him. That was Vegeta's Final Explosion, among others.
Buu’s crazed smile during and after ‘you’re missing the point’ along with the sudden calm and self-assuredness of the line itself is probably the single scariest thing in DBZ. Imperfect Cell’s introduction is up there too mind you.
Majin Boo: Catching people off guard by acting dumb and innocent. Super Boo: Able to plot vicious Schemes to come out on top. Kid Boo: Completely unhinged and a very fast learner. Similarities between the three: Always unpredictable, very creative, brutal and easy to irritate.
Did Super Buu just literally self-destruct himself out of getting all worked up and fussy??! Well, he is an alien chewed-up bubble gum villain. He'll be fine.
