Showing all of Broly's amazing lines in the Dub. For all the people who think he only yells "kakarot". Dragon Ball Z Movie 8: Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan.
I remember him being called a Bio Ton Nea at the first Ani Me Eve NTS Broock Bro (c)ock? Why hide behind an Online Mask? Are you af raid of "con seq uen ces"?
"What do you expect from a true freak" This line always made me think Broly actually knows he's not normal at all for Saiyan, the dub really added to he's character I like it
My favorite one is "No matter how much power you absorb from those idiots, it still WON'T be enough to kill me", and truthfully he wasn't wrong. Plot armor killed him
He made them think for a second he was going to kill them, but then redirected the shot to destroy their home planet instead, just to make them feel complete and utter despair. LSSJ Broly is pure evil and loving it.
"Kakarot, how much do you love your son?" Is just VILE. Still my favorite version of Broly. Loved how he was fully aware of his surroundings and actively chose to be evil for the sake of being evil, as if this whole fight was all just a glorified workout.
Its not the same fucking timeline Broly destroyed South Galaxy(in his restraint form not even Lssj which almost strong as base goku in movies)overtime Whether you believe he did it in one blow or not doesn’t matter as that’s a multi solar system feat which would put him all the way into the buu saga Ssj Goku (Movies) > Ssj 3 Goku (Series) @@Casper1993
Funny thing, Z Broly isn’t berserk, he is fully aware of his actions, and he loves destroying and killing. Super dragon ball heroes just made him into a guy that just screams KAKAROTTOOOOOOO! Everytime he is there.
Broly Second Coming made him a berserk idiot that just screams Kakarot. Broly in the first movie even switches to calling him "Goku" to deny Goku's Saiyan heritage.
isn't berserk i don't know... he clearly reached this form by rage, and more he use it, more lost his brain. just movie 1 can still talk but can't revert to not berserk mode
Only issue is that people associate Z Broly with Vic Mignogna. Seeing as how he's basically blacklisted from Funimation, I doubt people will be satisfied with a Z Broly voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch. People already complained when it happened in Dragon Ball Legends.
One of the reasons Z Broly is my favorite character. He talked as much trash as Vegeta, if not more, and had the power to back it up. Bro was in a 1v5 and still came out on top until the plot demanded he lose
I like to think Goku's punch was the first prototyping of the Dragon Fist. All of his power concentrated into a single point with a single physical attack? That's the Dragon Fist. Popped Broly like a knife through a kevlar balloon.
@@1kraniOriginal Db has a direct dragon fist on king piccolo. It already existed but just like ever other technique goku knows, he'll never use it because the writers just don't seem to care anymore
@@1krani To note: It´s supposed that Goku´s punch wasnt powerful enough to one-shot Broly, but it rather was the catalyst. Broly´s energy/ki was increasing by the seconds, more and more, with no sign of ever stopping, this made his body a time bomb as if he wouldnt release his ki, his body would´ve blown in pieces. Goku´s punch transferred enough energy to make this happen, that´s why Broly´s body exploded in such way.
And even then it made no sense. Broly had them bumbled, fumbled and crumbled without trying and he only died when Goku threw a "with the power of friendship, I will destroy you!" and then one-shot the guy with the energy of everyone he just juggled like hackysacs. Broly was so frigging strong that they had to plot hole his death in before he blew out the animation budget and killed the animators' abilities to work.
1:59 Notice he actually stops calling him "Kakarot" and starts calling him "Goku" in the first movie, after the line about how everybody else is a "waste of saiyan blood" at 1:39. There are no mentions of Kakarot in between them. Instead of Vegeta calling him Kakarot out of Saiyan pride, Broly's showing his saiyan pride by rejecting Goku's saiyanhood. This is just how much the second movie outright annihilated his character, they nuked a really good bit of storytelling from orbit just to give adult Gohan someone to fight.
I know some might said we're "overthinking" , but actually, Dragon Ball Z is the most lucrative both story wise and design. But since Akira lean this more to 'easy to understand instead of overcomplicating stuff', DBZ haters keep on clowning DBZ making your statement seems like we're just coping for better story.
@@1kraniIn which he did become braindead. He should have had a little more of his faculties in the second movie. And in the third one he had a perfect excuse to be mindless.
@@villenousiainen7899he was both mentally and physically damaged as well as encased in ice in comatose for years. It seemed like transforming into LSSJ managed to bring his sanity back, uttering a freakish sentence to Gohan like in the previous movie
This may sound dumb but why would Goku ask for a handicap if he is already being beaten ? English isn't my first language so maybe there's something I don't get
I mean Ho-Holy Hell... This Broly literally took up 5 of the strongest characters and Nearly beated them all to death! SSJ Goku, SSJ Vegeta, SSJ Future Trunks, Kami and Nail Fused Piccolo, And SSJ Teen Gohan! And they were at their Cell tournament Power levels too! My God Z broly is literally the Devil!
Vegeta: "I am the ruler of all Saiyans, EVEN YOU BROLY!" Broly: "Then please, try your best to make me kneel before you!" Hands down the best lines in the film.
Running calculations and estimating When you kneel you lost .26 to .33 of your total height. if we take the high end, LSS broke is 300 CM tall (9’10”) (despite formula ms making him actually 9’8”) so taking 1/3rd of that leaves him to 200CM or 6’5” tall Vegetal heigh is 164 CM or 5’4” Meaning Broly on his knees is still over a foot taller than vegeta That puts broly kneeling almost as tall as nappa
@@androidsenpai1462 I understand that Frieza and Cell played the biggest factor in making DBZ what it is today, but they’re not the same kind of villain as Broly. It’s hard to describe what I mean, but basically they have a different vibe than Broly, and Broly’s is a vibe I like a lot more.
@@redc7146nah you make complete sense. Frieza was sadistic, but he was more like a child - would throw tantrums and scream while fighting. Cell was cold, very calculating and confident but didn’t emanate that “HIM” energy. Broly does both, he’s sadistic, but controlled, and absolutely steals the show when he’s on screen.
Fun fact: In the original Japanese version, Broli’s basically giving them respect as Saiyan warriors for making it this far against him. Him calling them wastes here was a dub edit. I honestly think him giving them RESPECT was a bit colder.
@@Cr3zantnah man. S broly looses his green cat and is scared for life and snaps destroying everything. Z broly gets stabbed, thrown in the trash and takes his father’s eye. Destroys planets for fun. Z broly ftw lol
@@Cr3zantWhat did he say that made it seem like he was spitting 12 year old “edgy one liners”, the only one you can argue is when he said “Is that another word for coffin?”
@@red3994 The Z movies were never canon and episode 291 isn't non canon. Super still takes place before it, the only thing they've "retconned" about it is Bulma not seeing goku for 5 years lol
@@JohnSmith-zn4uf For sure is. I don’t have anything against edginess in the classical sense, but you can absolutely go overboard with it, from which point, it’s not intriguing anymore but just try hard.
I've met Vic about 11 times. Dude is an absolute genuine sweetheart and always look forward to seeing him again he also remembers fans names and who they are despite seeing thousands of them
I love Z broly, he didn't need a sad backstory, he didn't need nuance, he was just here to show us what an actual Psychopath with Saiyan Power was capable of
@@dr.feelgoodmalusphillips2475Hard to forget it, to be honest. The backstory wasn't really changed, just what the character turned out to be. Too powerful as a baby, ordered to executed and sent away, the father tries to fight it and ends up in solitude with his son. Z Broly just doesn't use his mildly sad backstory to paint himself as a sad, misunderstood victim. This is far more preferable over a brain damaged lug who can barely string together a sentence.
I love how similar yet different the two brolys are. both have similar back stories, yet one is more tragic than the other. as adults, they both spend a massive chunk of their movies in a docile state, then are both unleashed as the single strongest saiyans of their times. while their ssj forms are triggered for different reasons, its fun to contrast the two.
@@GeoRyukaiser Well at least Z Broly had a motivation of his own and remained lucid throughout the climax of his movie. What was Nu Broly's motivation? To do what daddy told him, get angry when he dies and then just forgetting about him in an instant? To have no agency whatsoever?
@@imtheman84 Having your only family member die of natural causes is traumatic. Having them die unintentionally as a result of a battle you're fighting (remember that Broly had no idea that Frieza killed Paragus)? Anyone would flip the hell out. That is at least a more reasonable motivation then 'baby Kakarot cried loud so now I hold a grudge.'
And remember in the timeline this is Goku after he perfected Super Saiyan meaning he's at the same level he would be when he fights Cell during the Cell Games and Cell almost died from a similar attack.
DBZ Broly was a truly conniving, evil monster, he didn't just yell and say "Kakarot!" every 5 seconds and he wasn't an angry berserker attacking everything in front of him, that is DBS Broly but seriously DBZ Broly was peak villain
And this is the same dude that sings the English Version of the Kai OP. Blessed my childhood with his version of Dragon Soul! But yeah, Vic's Broly was one of a kind.
@@timothyhellsing Crazy since DBS Broly screams all the time in his fight with Goku and Vegeta. Imagine the vocal chords on Vic Mignogna when he do that behind the mic.
Watching this after Akira Toriyama Sensei's passing. The man was a Legend. R.I.P Even though he is gone the messages and the legacy he left behind will, still, inspire future generations of Anime fans for years to come.
Imagine being so strong that GOKU of all people asks for a handicap. And imagine being the guy who asks for a handicap and your opponent responds with "is that another term for a coffin"💀💀
Rest in Peace the legend. Akira Toriyama, many tears have been shed in your name. Just such a legend, the greatest. and I’m very happy to be alive for it
I always liked this line in Broly Second Coming: “…Not until you lie dead at my feet.” For some reason that gave me chills and it really stuck with me. Love it
There was a reason why broly was the most famous DBZ character back in the day. I never understood where the myth came from that he didnt have any character.
@@Adeycoola More like the 2nd movie. The abridged version made him an absolute badass that only degenerated into shouting "Kakarot" at the end of the story
I'm not sure how people always forget that Broly was actually a totally fleshed out character in the first film and its actually a really good movie. The only part that people seem to miss-understand is how Goku crying is linked to his PTSD of being stabbed, left to die on his home planet only to have that blow up too all on the same day. Top it all off with him being ensalved by his father most of his life and driven insane by his own power it makes plenty of sense why specific things would cause him to freak out. Also you know great action, Pantera providing some of the music and a beat-down we've never really seen of the heros just make this a kick ass movie.
I do get what's going on here, Broly is easily one of the most fleshed out DBZ Movie villains. But Vegeta's father stabbed him when he was a baby because he had a power level of 10,000. So why is that Broly's PTSD from being stabbed, having his home annihilated, and being enslaved by his father, is linked with Goku's constant crying instead of Vegeta's entire presence?
@@cedialive2759if I can remember he seen goku as a baby when he got picked up and heard “kakarot” I could be wrong Cause it’s been a while since I watched it
@@cedialive2759 Kinda late to this but the reason is pretty simple imo. He was a baby. The machinations of someone's reason for trying to kill him doesn't register as something fathomable to a baby compared to what he was feeling in that moment. Everyone tries to argue the logic of an adult for his trauma not making sense when it was the emotions and narrow point of view of a baby that shaped him because that was when it all happened to him
This is the real Broly. He’s not some sensitive, tragic, manchild like DBS portrayed but a sadistic, insane, violent, sociopath that embodies the worst traits of the Saiyan race. A monster created through a perfect storm of internal and external factors.
Yep. Totally agree. There's nothing more terrifying and more hazardous to the universe than a blood crazed saiyan who's only purpose and ambition is the thrill of senseless murder
Yes, he is dangerous and sadistic, but his only problem is his story. His story is a piece of garbage. It was not written by the studio because they did not know how to write it.
@@E10290 King Vegeta feared Z Broly so much, he fricken stabbed him as a baby and he still didn't die. For the next 25 years Broly terrorized the outer reaches of space. Laying waste to entire galaxies for no other reason than because it was fun. Where King Vegeta in super sent him away not out of fear but out petty narcissism because his son in comparison was no different than any other low class warrior like Kakkarot. He spent 30-40 years literally doing nothing. Supers writing is absolute garbage. Paragus in Z wanted to rule the universe using Broly as his weapon where in Super he basically threw himself at Frieza and gave him a BJ
@@E10290 Not if you look at it from a certain point of view. Broly’s life was absolute hell. He was almost murdered as a baby and was thrown into a wasteland like garbage, and he narrowly survived his homeworld’s destruction he was driven insane and subconsciously linked it all to Goku’s crying.
New Broly is one of the few things I like about Super but Z Broly is truly something else. By far my favorite Dragon Ball villain. People don't understand why this guy hits this hard... It's true that his character is not complex and he's a total psycho, but you miss the point if you think that's all about him. Broly is the Legendary Super Saiyan. That's the point. Throughout DBZ we get used to Goku, Trunks, later on even Vegeta... Positive characters, good guys. People that make you feel safe because no matter the menace, the fate of the planet is in their hands. Above all, we associated Saiyan to a heroic image. Broly reminded us about what is the true nature lying dormant deep inside them. That Saiyans are basically monsters, if not for exceptional circumstances. And when we thought that Goku was their messiah, the warrior of legend? We get to meet the real fabled warrior ... And it's nothing like we imagined.. It's a horrifying assassin... The fact that Vegeta lost the will to fight speaks volumes about this concept. Just... Imagine if the messiah we've been waiting for not only isn't our hero, but was a bad guy all along. That's simple, but absolutely brilliant
"I choose you to be the first of my victims" is still one of the craziest lines I've ever heard a villain say LMAO. Like damn. You knew he meant business straight out the gate with that. Absolutely insane.
The little slave decides to be brave you probably dreaming to go back there someday?! ITS JUST A DREAM!!! goosebumps when I hear that line and the pure evil of him.
@@dontberash Especially when he screamed as DBS Broly nonstop throughout the fight with Goku, Vegeta and Frieza. No words, only screaming. Poor vocal chords
Z Broly talked alot more than I remember... Also, for some reason, to me he feels like a DBZ version of a character that could have appeared in The Boondocks 😅
I love the introverted, angry, psycho with a few lines, but those lines are raw. Not sure why people think he's hulk or talks with "hulked on phonics." He's intelligent, knows damn well what he's doing, and revels in it. A true saiyan.
This Broly has a split personality and I like it. When he is normal he’s more reserved but once he goes LSSJ he’s just a menace tank with a mouthpiece :D
No he isn't. He's only reserved with the control collar. Look at the flashback when Broly was a teenager. Paragus put the collar on Broly because Broly was just as blood thirsty without any super sayain form.
@@MrhandyhitmanFinally somebody gets it, Broly is unstable in base/Regular SS hence why he says "Kakarot" in that state for both the 1st and 2nd movies but once he goes into the Legendary Form his true personality comes out this is what most people don't understand
I dont think its talked about enough how that punch at 2:01 was so fucking strong they didnt even show it hitting. All that was shown was an image of goku breaking like glass. Like jesus how hard did broly punch that mf?
This is forever the best Broly. People saying Super Broly is a better or more interesting character than this one are insane to me. Thia dude oozes charisma throughout his psychotic rampage. His life is like a Greek tragedy.
Super Broly's character is better, but Z was more brutal, and this is what Super Broly lacks. Broly's character is an excellent villain. The only problem with Broly Z's character is that he hates Goku for stupid reasons. However, he was an excellent villain. Both are good.
@@E10290 I don't prefer Z Broly because he's more brutal. I prefer because he actually HAS a character. Super Broly is a manchild who has LESS lines than Z Broly. He's angry and can't control his rage but deep down he's a nice guy. That's there is to him. Z Broly suffered so much trauma from the day he was born no amount of therapy and psychiatrist care could fix his psyche. He's a completely damaged person who can't express himself without harming others as it's the easiest thing for him to do. Super Broly has gone through stuff, but take away that backstory and he still has nothing much to him. Just in this video alone you get a sense of the pure ecstasy Z Broly gets from inflicting pain on others. Super Broly has no such character outside his backstory. His fight only goes to show his rage and strength, not his character.
Probably because this Broly’s only trait is being insane and destructive. Something that’s very basic for DB villains. Kid Buu is exactly the same way as Broly here.
@@ItsOver9000Productions wanting to destroy everything isn’t a proper character. That’s practically every villain in DB. But Z Broly doesn’t have any of the interesting backstory of Frieza or even Cell. His trauma is negligible because his motivation doesn’t even make sense.
Aaahh... the moment broly drops goku from holding his head, to the transition of goku's reflection shattering as glass really gives you the sense of how much pain just One of broly's punches would cause... so good.
