Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for. I have not had much time to fly because of work. But this is what I thought my issue is and had not had a chance to try it. This actually showed me I was right in what I needed to change in settings to get a better control of the hind.
Your advice on pressing the trim button, then releasing the stick quickly to allow it to re-center seemed to really improve my results. I'm using a Thrustmaster Warthog and couldn't get a consistent trim setting until I tried the press, and allow to re-center quick and it worked. Thanks
I actually use the "Speed brake" thumb switch on the throttle for trim and trim reset, just because you don't need to hold it ;) If you fly the KA-50, it's a must to use this method of holding the trimmer and letting go after you set the attitude.
probably the most important button on the Mi-24 and KA-50... at least the reset trim is not as violent as the KA-50 :P I highly recommend you try using the Trim Hat (nose up/down bank left/right) for small corrections, it really helps with small trim adjustments ;)

Hey man I did not fly the Hind for some time. But you should know that the trim button does take away all the assistence from the systems that could result in that behaviour.
Hi nazradu, habe nach reichlicher Übung endlich meine Einstellung für den Saitek X52. Bin bis jetzt mit den Kurven der Mi8 lt. Chuck geflogen und habe nur Probleme damit gehabt. Jetzt habe ich diese auf allen Achsen komplett rausgenommen. Damit gelingen mir nun sowohl Hover- als auch Flugzeuglandungen. Den YAW-AP nutze ich nur im Hover u. Geradeausflug. In den Kurven nehme ich ihn mit Taste raus, um bessere Ruderwirkung zu haben. Den Ruddertrim habe ich weiter aktiv, weil ich das von der Mi8 so gewöhnt bin. Ich komme mit meinen Pedalen (Original-Flugzeugpedale der LET Z-37) gut zurecht. Was allerdings die "Mittelstellung n. Trimmen" bewirkt, kann ich nicht feststellen, zur "Standard"-einstellung gibt es keinen Unterschied für mich!
Hi Kamow52, freut mich, dass es läuft! Ja die Kurven von Chuck sind etwas extrem und wie ich schon sagte, Kurven sind böse wenn Du mich fragst. Wenn man Probleme mit zu starken Steuerinputs hat dann lieber die Sättigung der Y-Achse bei Pitch und Roll runterdrehen. Der Unterschied zwischen Default und Return to Center ist, bei Default hast Du ca 0,5 Sekunden den Stick wieder in Mittelstellung zu bringen, bei rtc wartet der einfach bis Du wieder in Mittelstellung bist bevor Du neue Inputs machen kannst. Das grundsätzliche Prinzip ist gleich.
Awsome Videos. How do you keep straight and level. When I hit the trimmer. It always seems I am dipping down to the right. And also going into a hover. I almost have to use full pedal. And lastly when I hit the trimmer in a good spot. The heli goes nose down for some reason.
Are you having any AP channels enabled? What you describe, especialy the tilting to the right sounds like the bank channel is disabled. Another reason could be your airspeed. When you hit 320 kph the chopper will start rolling to the right.
@@nazradu - Hi Naz pitch and roll are on. But not Yaw. It is not a hard roll right. Its just like canted to the right always. And trying to get into hover it is a massive amount of pedal. Where I see you and others just pick right up and stay stable. And I cant even get into a hover from flight to. Say land directly on the numbers or on an LZ pad. But what bugs me most after trying to transition, is the trim I get in good position. Hit trim button and the helicopter goes nose down then kinda comes back up. When all I did is hit trim button then move stick back to center. It works a little better using default. But I use center positio. Trim in MI8 and works good but for some reason I'm having issues in 24. That and no cues for landing such as the shakes or the click of the trim button. And lastly yeah not going over 320. For the retreating blade stall. Found that out early. And thank you a ton for your videos. I look forward to landing videos.
@@nazradu I tried the alternate method, but sometimes it wouldn't redo the zero so to speak, so moving my stick after hitting trim gave me double the input which has crashed me several times

Hi Kamow52! Danke für das Feedback. Zu meinen Control settings hab ich ein Video geplant, aber damit Du nicht so lange warten musste lüfte ich das Geheimnis meiner Kurven (Joystick XD) gleich hier. Alles straight und linear keine extension am Stick. Warum ich kein fan von Kurven bin erklär ich dann im Video dazu. Falls Du Schwierigkeiten hast mit den controlls empfehle ich Dir einen Blick in Chucks Guide zur Mi-8 oder der Huey. Einfach bei Google eingeben und downloaden. Da sind Kurven empfohlen und sie sind für alle Muster gleich. Das kannst Du als Ausgangspunkt nehmen. Wovon ich definitiv abrate sind Kurven auf dem collective Hebel..
@@kamow5296 Ja ich find sie etwas dolle und grundsätzlich verwirrt es mich halt wenn der input mehr oder weniger exponentiell steigt. In Wirklichkeit sind es ja nur minimale inputs die notwendig sind, damit der chopper tut was er soll.
@@nazradu Das ich das noch erleben darf, den Hind zu fliegen. Ich habe den noch live erlebt in den 80igern in Brandis , Flugplatz Polenz! Gigantisch wenn die im Paar über die Felder im Tiefflug kamen! Eine Frage hab ich noch : Du benutzt in den Spezialeinstellungen nicht die Ruder-Trimfunktion, warum nicht?
@@kamow5296 Ich hab ihn vorletztes Jahr in Litauen bei einer Flugshow gesehen XD Rudder trim benutze ich nicht weil ich nicht Gefahr laufen will, dass ich den mir zur Verfügung stehenden Ruder Weg überschätze. Wenn die Ruder Position meinen physischen Pedalen entspricht weiß ich, wie viel Authority ich noch zur Verfügung habe. Weiß nicht ob mich hier verständlich ausgedrückt habe XD
