I remember my very first time playing this game 2 decades ago. I was playing the first mission on the trail. I built a stone quarry and wondered how to make people work at it. Found out I could recruit slaves, I made a couple and sent them to the quarry, found out that it was actually the sultan's quarry and burned it down which burned down everything I had built. That was the first time I rage quit the game. I must have been like 6 years old thinking this game was impossible. I'm very glad I put it back in and continued playing. This game is a masterpiece and is my all time favorite game.
Yeah that could be useful... I am too lazy build a castle normally. I just wall a section of the map off cuz that doesn't need much thought behind it and the AI, which always attacks from the same direction, cannot take advantage of it.

I think most of the time he kinda improvises but every Castle he makes is just awesome. You can see his most recent 'build' in the match against the 3 HandOfBlood AI (which is insane with his horsed archers spam)

One time, one of the AI (don't remember which one) lit an enemy farm on fire. That fire accidentally spread to my castle (though I had wells). I was like "so your carelessness has burned my castle. Let's see how u like it!" So I got my melee troops and manually selected them to destroy my allies buildings in his castle till it was a ruin. 😁
not true, AI allies are just as useless as AI enemies except if between your enemies and you there's an ally, your ally will take the blow by himself :D and die if it's one of the incompetent AI.... The strength of most AI can be calculated based on how many houses they use, rat uses 3, Saladin uses 11 so he's definitely stronger
