When I went to the army basic training, we did have a civilian get on the bus by accident from the airport. The drill sergeant made fun of him and thought he was faking it. He pulled out his medication and turns out he had a failing heart. He also showed scars on his chest from heart surgeries. A taxi showed up about two hours after this he got in and I never saw him again

As much of it is the chair force. There are the few percent who are badass. Many tried the chair force on my uncle and it didn’t work. But also he’s just different. Youngest chief master sgt in US Air Force history (addin this. It’s usually required by the Air Force to have 22 years experience. My uncle did it in 16 and 8 months. He was a senior master SGT at 13 years. Only 1 percent or airmen even reach either of those ranks in a lifetime of serving AKA 30 plus years.)
Marines and army used intimidation factors, we in the air force focus more on attention to detail, much more than the rest of the branches. Of course MTI's still yell at us every once and a while but graded inspections based on demerit is the biggest thing in BMT, and the Academy. Also PSA, guy with the red rope is a cadet, not an instructor.

@@ScootsMcPoot Absolutely, Marines are a different breed. When I finished up basic at the academy my grunt buddy wasn’t even halfway through boot and still had to worry about mct. The academy challenge is balancing an overloaded academic schedule and military duties.

Army here, Airforce isn't about the intimidation factor like Army or Marines, it's about extreme attention to detail and being orderly and organized. Source: I know someone who loads F-35's down in Nevada; another good friend was in Germany, and I went to basic with a prior service E-7 TSGT who took a demotion to E-5 to be closer to her husband who was a Green Beret. They're not being sent to kill, they're being sent to do their jobs with extreme attention to detail so they don't screw up. Imagine you're the bomb-loader that messes up and gets somebody hurt, killed or a multi-million dollar piece of equipment destroyed. If you're gonna clown on Airforce, clown on Airforce SFs. Half of ya'll, my grunt ass included, couldnt even pass cadet school lol.

Agree with the difference in branches, but ain't nobody got the right to shit on SF, I have plenty of friends who are maintainer and weapons techs on the flightlines and wouldn't even consider going down range without a whole flight of Defenders watching their back and covering their asses when the shit hits the fan. They'd do the same for me any day both ways.

I was on a Greyhound in June 72, the DI that stepped on that Bus had to turn sideways to get in the door, and he was Not fat! Told us if your chewing gum, swallow it now! You got two seconds to get off my Bus. Took only about 1.5 seconds and we were on the Yellow Foot Prints. Then I noticed the sign that said “Through these portals pass”, can’t remember exactly. I knew then I was in for it, and I wasn’t wrong. In case you haven’t picked up on it, I was on Parris Island. And it was hard core Corps for 13 weeks. Made it through without any damage, several were set back in training due to injuries, but I made it. Was glad and proud on Graduation day. Was a Platoon Sgt for H&S 1/6, 2 MarDiv then went back to being a Civilian. But I’ll never forget that DI that stepped up on that Bus, those of us that were chewing gum swallowed it immediately. I was convinced he was looking for someone, anyone he could kill on the spot. That image is burned in my brain. So when I see people like this on this video, I’m convinced he would have been the very first Example! P.S. (He was bigger than Schwarzenegger) !! Guarantee no one was even breathing, afraid he’d hear it! A little exaggerated, but not much. Thanks for reading, God Bless.
When I went through Air Force basic they had an airman, who had just graduated and was waiting on his school to start, helping on the first night everyone arrives. This dude loved to yell and would yell to “hurry up, sit down, start eating” Only problem was this dude had the worst fucking speech impediment and couldn’t pronounce his r’s and sounded like a fucking kid. Talk about an intimidating arrival at basic 😂
Same at Jackson in 65. Fear of God was unleashed at 2 in the AM. Stripped down to our skivies for 2 days. Old dirty barracks . Stepped down into a shower area with 6 nozzles and 4 sinks for 40 men. Then hustled off day 3 or so for shots, equipment, etc and then 9 weeks in tents for training. Tent City! June, July, August in South Carolina. No air conditioning. Sand in everything. But we became great soldiers.
This isn’t basic training, this is for the academy. My “bus experience” was nothing like this lol, I graduated from AF BMT about 2-3 weeks ago. This goof ball on the vid is not a MTI, he’s a red rope so he himself is a student, he’s just one of those annoying kids that likes to be in charge of people and be the MTL’s little puppy
Having gone through regular enlisted basic training, it would be so hard to not laugh. That cadet is trying to add bass to his voice but he sounds like his voice is cracking due to puberty

@@KFARR Not wrong and not true. Contracting is used stateside and deployed for some afsc's. The quality of said workers though is very mixed. AF personnel are still the backbone that keeps the total force moving.

As a Former US Army Infantryman, obviously this isn't as intense as the Basic Training I went through but it doesn't have to be. The Air Force focuses on the tools to make them successful in their Mission set. Attention to Detail, Memory, Stress Management.

Having been through Army basic training and R Day at West Point, I can say this is just precious. The young lady on the left is about to break out laughing. She will probably be the one who becomes a fighter pilot. That upper classman looks to be all of 130 lb. I can assure you that the first day of West Point is nothing like this.
VA Home loan, get paid to go to college/trade school, get practical experience, travel, disability pay, great people. If you’re considering joining the military and you don’t have much going on, just do it. It’s honestly so worth it.

To put it in “hur dur” terms for you, highly intelligent people go to the Academy to learn a specific subject after high school, then there are people like me that weren’t smart enough to go to the academy but not dumb enough for the Marines so I joined the AirForce, our basic is in Texas, this video is in Colorado Springs. Our BMT is nothing like this because this video is not BMT
