another educational banger! What I wanna add is, as you said everything is a resource! Ammo, HP, abilities but also things like focus and attention. You can even think of your emotional state like a resource. Some people try to tilt the enemy on purpose to gain an advantage. Best part for me personally of the video was the corner flip! I didn't know there was a name for it, and it answered a few questions I had about the L-corner concept.

I'm also using Soldier76 to not rely on healing support in the lower ranks (nobody helps you there) + wouldn't start using voice comms until Platinum (OW is still a multiplayer game :) everybody knows how toxic MP voice comms are these days). Let's see!
@YamiBaddy
@YamiBaddy Год назад
Been playing with a friend recently who is much lower in rank and noticed this lack of understanding corners and corner flipping in those ranks, which had me thinking about the dynamic of it lately. Corner flipping ties together with what you were talking about in a different video: "Space" and "Ebb and Flow". What used to be claimed space and space you are contesting/threatening ahead of you through pressure and position can very much change or with the Ls "flip" through the opponents movement or kills on your or the opponents team. Where this concept became REALLY apparant to me was when the opponent managed to get through and it meant for our team to back up to the next corner to reclaim a good fighting position, yet half my team stayed in the open or tried to route to the side. Being aware of Ebb and Flow and the state of space control can be such a powerful tool. For example that very game on King's Row: Your tank died and one of your DPS got picked off. You are on DPS and have your Supports with you backing off the first point back to the second part, corner of the shop. You see Reinhardt pushing into the second part with 2 DPS, while their supports stand on the point capping. Poke a little bit until they have pushed in enough for them to be able to flip the corner on you if they proceed further forward, so time to back up, take the next corner. Thanks to the glass window of the store you can also take a bit of a peak to see who actually follows through. You see Rein and Soldier still pushing as you back up to even a corner further back with your remaining team. The second you notice it's just the Rein now at the second corner with the Soldier retreated it's the perfect opportunity to pressure the Rein and flip the control on him, with in mind of your team having spawned coming up the other side aswell. We managed to anti, sleep and kill the Rein, picking off the Soldier trying to come back and helping aswell. We lost the point, but these picks helped us to claim further space ahead with the bigger player count. This dynamic of controlled and contested space can happen in such a short amount of time; being aware of these concepts and having them ingrained in your gameplay will help you tremendously making strong plays in a blink of an eye, which on higher level of play with players making fewer and fewer mistakes becomes crucial.
