I was terrified of snakes my entire life, I just recently got 2 sand boas, a rosy, and 2 BPs. I'm even surprised I own any. But I was fortunate that so far my 5 are absolutely the sweetest I could have hoped for. They'll need more handling, but I'm finding everything you've said is fact. I love they all have diff personalities, and preferences. All are fed in their enclosures, and it has no effect on aggression. I'm thankful for those of you on RU-vid who pass on your knowledge, I no longer fear these beautiful creatures. ❤

I'm very glad to hear that :) And thank you as well. I learned a lot on RU-vid myself and I am happy to pay it forward!

I actually didn't know #10- that they don't suffocate their prey. Before I got my first ball, I thought the snake breaks the bones of the prey. Then I was taught they suffocate. Now I learned the squeezing causes a heart attack. I also thought it was "garden" or "gardener's" snake. It was Snake Discovery that taught me they are "garter" snakes.

Yep there are a lot of misconceptions. And I bet a LOT of people thought and still think it's gardener's. Snake Discovery is great for teaching people in a positive way. But I mean it would probably make a lot more sense if it were Gardener's right? Lol

Another great video. I’m going to keep it saved so I can send it to new keepers or potential keepers.

Ball pythons,Boas, other Pythons are triggered by the drop of the barometric pressure. It’s a internal instinct that they feel whether they’re inside warm or not with your heating and cooling and all that other junk they automatically sense the outside barometric pressure drop it’s an internal instinct and depends on where you’re living at on how much they breed for you. Ball pythons can breed all year round. They’re the easiest thing to breed
@RhynosRoyals
@RhynosRoyals 2 месяца назад
Agreed the pressure drop is definitely what they are sensing that gets them in the mood to breed more. And while they sure can breed all year round and most are easily breed I do have some that are stubborn but I know some tricks we covering in another video on how to get the males to breed better.

Great points. In regards to number 10, barometric pressure?
@RhynosRoyals
@RhynosRoyals 2 месяца назад
Thank you! The reason the breed better during the rain is thought to be barometric pressure absolutely :)

Another couple I hear from not just breeders, but also people who keep them as pets are that as nocturnal species they don’t need basking lights and uvb. People also say putting them in large enclosures stresses them out, they won’t eat become sick and die.
@RhynosRoyals
@RhynosRoyals 2 месяца назад
You can put them in larger enclosures so long at there is plenty of clutter and hide spots for sure. Or you can use tubs. They are very adaptable and as long as their need for a secure and private area are meet I don't see an issue. As for basking they do not typically bask during the day. A lot of their temperature requirements are gained just by the general heat in the wild but this is of course captivity so we have effectively taken natural considitions out of the equation. Its about how you can most effectively deliever that heat requirement to them now. But providing those certainly does not hurt. I like to say if it works for you and your animal is safe an healthy then that's all that matters :) Thanks for watching!

Male pythons also have larger "spurs" than females. They are more noticeable in males. Popping is the most guaranteed way for no extra cost.
@RhynosRoyals

While I wouldn't say everyone agrees on it I have noticed it sometimes in adults only however.

@RhynosRoyals thx my buddy said 90 but she seemed cold he has 12 snakes and I haven't had one in about 20 yrs a lot has changed he said a heat mat and to stick the temp probe between the mat and enclosure btm I remember using the lights yrs ago I told him she felt cold and he said not to go higher than 95 so I set it at 94 maybe I will turn it down some I'm also using a plastic tote enclosure he made I enjoyed some of your videos very informative

You sound like you breed other reptiles and you don’t want people to buy ball pythons
@RhynosRoyals

Lol Not certain why you think that from this video unless your being sarcastic. I almost exclusively breed ball pythons and expand every year in fact.

@@RhynosRoyals why you tell people they need 40 gallon tanks minimum and you probably keep yours ima rack system. Don’t be a hypocrite
@RhynosRoyals
@RhynosRoyals 2 месяца назад
If you are referring to my point 7 perhaps you should watch again... I never say you have to keep in tanks lol. I refer to the fact that you can house many ball pythons in a rack and even a few in tanks in the space it would take to make an enclosure suitable to house 2 together. Which I don't recommend housing 2 together even then. I never recommend or tell people they have to keep them in 40 gallons over a rack system. And in fact I do keep most of my breeders in rack systems. How people choose to keep their snakes I personally think either way can be done. But yes IF you keep them in a tank, as an adult a 40 gallon would be what you would need as it is about the same floor space as the tubs I use. But never do I say to use tanks over tubs. I recommend watching entire videos before commenting what I do and do not recommend. As I lean more towards tubs and if you watched my prior videos I never shy away from this. But hey good luck in your future projects if your a breeder!

I think its hypocritical to act like a keyboard warrior yet not even comprehend what he is saying in the video. I legit feel sad for people like you. Listening comprehension not your strong suit eh?@@1madmike813
