welp, the entire economic model we operate on was established at a time when labor value was essentially free (slavery). but then we went and made slavery illegal (mostly). except we never changed our economic model to one that doesn't depend on stealing labor/production value to function. so you know, we gotta get that labor value from somewhere. and the one except to slavery being illegal is if you're a convicted criminal. so.... it's not a flaw. the system is functioning as intended

This idea that presidents should be above the law is ridiculous. If they were individuals we could trust to lead a country, why should they need such immunity from prosecution or accountability? Worse yet is many more liberal or center leaning people think “it’s not that bad” and refuse to acknowledge or inform themselves of his and his colleges telling on themselves to the media for all to see. It is staring everyone in the face and instead of doing something about it and calling it out the majority deny deny deny.

we are already at fascism. fascism isn't just concentration camps. we've been in fascist america since 2016, if i'm being generous (there is good political theory which condemns all states as we know them as fascistic inherently, which i happen to think is correct)

Evil won enough things that they made it so that they can ignore most of the loud good people. It's not enough for a few people to not be silent. Evil can no longer be defeated unless all good people are mobilized together. It's not that we need one person to make a difference, it's that we need every last individual, every one.
The problem is that you've now got a situation where the ordinary person is in a position rather like that of a chess player who has two or three possible moves, all of which will lead to the other player being able to capture his king. Your best move is to vote blue everywhere you can and persuade others to do the same - but there are even plans in place to try to counter that (in the form of very minor election officials refusing to certify election results that go against the Republicans). You also have the difficulty that you've been carefully trained in a system that might be described as "every coyote for himself". So if I'm earning just enough to get by, I'm not going to care about you. The idea of getting together with "less successful" people and working with them to get a better system for everyone is not something you are trained to do. Short of a massive general strike in which absolutely everyone except some essential medical staff and those whose jobs are to look after others in residential settings or electricity production I don't see how the good people can make a difference. I don't see such a general strike happening, at least not for some years.

Yes, unless you've been convinced that certain demographics shouldn't vote and that you're right and only protecting your country from the evil people who want to destroy what you know to make it more inclusive and diverse (viewed as anti-white, anti-Christian). Because the party that wants to restrict or complicate the vote wants to restrict or complicate the vote for specific groups of people. Their supporters don't often fall under those specific groups. Hope y'all prepared as much as the nuts have, cause they're just waiting on a call to arms. It's the 1930's, and there's a future High Chancellor to stop.
The unfortunate thing is that I actually do support gun rights, as well as abortion rights, and I'm strongly against book banning. To simplify, I'm left wing on literally every issue except gun rights. I think gun rights are essential to achieving the goals of the left, that being strong workers rights and personal freedoms (particularly in terms of gender expression, which the right is constantly attacking peoples right to do). A workers strike is always more alarming to the company when those workers are armed, and could intimidate strike breakers or scabs into staying away. I still vote left, because the majority of their policies are aligned with my beliefs, but I cringe every time they blame guns for a tragedy that was clearly caused by socioeconomic circumstances. TLDR I wish there was a left wing candidate who supported gun ownership.
To my knowledge, no one on the left is saying we should take away all guns. The majority of us want strong, sensible gun control laws: restrictions on what can be owned; requirements for training, registration, and licensure; that sort of thing.
I agree. As someone who knows a good amount about firearms (at least, I'd say I know a good amount) I facepalm every time I hear the left wing politicians say things like "double barreled magazine clip" or "changing the stock turns this weapon fully automatic." Guns don't kill people. People do. If you let guns get into the hands of people who use them to commit crimes, that's where things go wrong. Which is why I also agree with @ButMadNNW625 . Strong and sensible gun control laws are better than banning this or banning that.
Thank you for making this. I've had the blues about the upcoming holiday since it will probably be our last.. what a horrible situation. The American Empire is falling...
At the exact perfect moment, as speech prof declared "America" a ridiculously loud explosion went off across the street from my place via holiday fireworks. It could not have been timed more perfectly.
Vote blue in the next election like your life depends on it. Because I know for sure as a disabled person mine does. There are 2 justices getting up there in years enough they might leave during the next presidency. You're voting for who will decide who replaces them.
Cant republicans see thatby allowing a wanna be dictator to rule their rights will also be targeted? Do they think their king will always allow them to arm themselves? Its so baffling and bleak
It's easier to understand when you realise that they 'know' the power hierachy goes both ways; not only do the rich and powerful _deserve_ their positions (because reasons), the weak and powerless (including themselves) also deserve theirs. 'Tread harder on me, daddy!'
It's an unfortunate manipulation of people's natural gravitation toward in-group/out-group mentality. They've been promised and assured that for now they're the "in-group", which means they'll be protected. They cannot conceptualize how they might eventually become the out-group once those in power need a new target.
It's because of Project 2025. They think the risk of ever being on the receiving end will disappear after the next election because they intend to restructure the government to ensure Republican rule until the sun burns out.
@@LittleHobbit13this. Human psyche is so susceptible this type of manipulation by sociopaths because it is so out of the realm of normal and because of evolutionary imperatives around group dynamics and survival.
It's insane and depressing when you lay it all out like that. My grwat grandparents fled Austria to come here and though it's expensive I apparently can do a process to reclaim Austrian citizenship.... starting to sound like a good idea. Just ironic if I flee to Austria now
Still waiting on that whole "land of the free" portion I was sold while I was growing up. Now after nearly two decades of minimum wage not budging, multiple housing crashes, and boomers telling me to work another job because I need more work ethic and not to be lazy, i can maybe, just maybe, afford Chinese food tonight as a monthly treat to myself among the multitude of hours I work to be paid basically scraps. the last 3 pay raises I have ever had in my life were a dollar bump in my paycheck. meanwhile, the CEO gets a bonus that can literally afford a small island. MURICA!
To those who say "I need gun to defend me from bad guys", the bad guys also can obtain guns, some timed illegally sure, but less guns equals less opportunity to get guns in general
You literally just admitted bad guys can get guns when they want so the best option like always is to become stronger instead of encouraging everyone to be weaker because weak people can't hurt you. Weak people also can't defend themselves from anyone and if you want to be safer by being weaker you will never be safe as bad guys by putting in the minimum of effort will always be stronger than you so you need to put i. The effort and get the tools to be able to defend yourself.
Drugs are illegal and yet people have no trouble getting them. The bad guys will obtain a gun regardless, legal or not the bad guys will have a gun. most of the time the guns that the bad guys have ARE illegal. I don't know about you but as a little woman In a world of crazy men I should be able to protect myself. I usually like these videos , but I do not agree with getting rid of guns completely.
You have a great point. How are we going to keep criminals from getting guns when we're constantly putting more guns into circulation, and sometimes even making it easier to get a gun after a mass shooting happens. It's just insanity.
The people here don't realize having less of something makes it harder to get that thing legal or not. It was REALLY easy to get alcohol during prohibition cause it was everywhere. It takes time to lower the amount of things that exist and thats why restrictions are needed Also guns DO NOT protect you from people with guns. Guns make the aggressor have all of the power, an attacker with a knife can be beat with underhanded maneuvers sometimes although difficult, an unarmed attacker is even more even. An attacker with a gun can pull the trigger before you grab yours, and doesn't have to get close enough to put them in danger of counterattack.
@jarethpalmer8672 That's not that simple. They in fact cannot get guns "whenever they want to". I wonder why the USA leads the school shooting statistics by a long shot? Makes you think doesn't it?
Home is where the heart is .... I think that might be a loophole. Can it be illegal to choose not to own a house? Not to own a car? Not to buy whatever it is they tell you to spend your hard earned money to own? Man, this world keeps getting weirder!
Where? There are like 3 true Communist countries left and their all garbage even China isn't really Communist anymore since they abandoned the socialist part of their economic system because it's such a garbage system. It's literally the most failed system known to man. Honestly wish China was more communist since they'd be weaker.
This really hit me hard. I've been sitting with all this in a huge lump in my chest for days, and I needed to hear it said aloud to really break down that knot so it could finally become the deep-lunged, mournful, powerless sobbing it's been waiting to become. I registered at my new address & was denied because of a felony that I certainly knew nothing about til I got the voter registry rejection. This means not only can I not vote, I can't get a passport so I can GTFO, which is a step I'm more than willing to take & about which I have been informing myself. I served jury duty not six months ago, where did this felony come from? No one will tell me. I have to conduct a background check _on myself_ so I can find out what the issue is, then contest it. This could take up to a year. It could be computer error, filing error, a change in the law that makes an unpaid ticket (I have one I'm working down but am actively paying) or something count as a felony for voting. In that year+ of resolving a problem not of my doing nor even knowledge, what more could be taken from or forced upon us?
@@Evija3000that’s part of the point, but it’s the same types that are making those decisions and make more decisions based on a book that has been mistranslated and edited and speaks of nothing they claim it does for their political aims. Religion is an excuse and they clearly don’t practice it for if they did they would o see none of it is in the book.
" ... our vote pretty much doesn't mean anything .... " Bullshit. If our votes don't mean anything, why are the powers that be in Republican-dominated areas working so hard to prevent people from voting? This is especially true THIS YEAR, when a lot of people are mad about the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
