Ya we want a 8s version of the 2807 but you dont really up your cell count for efficiency you do it for speed about 1050-1150kv i recon, and a spilt bell so it lighter and a 2808 stator
@@BeautyBeastRC Normally, not only the connector is designed for the current (XT30) nominal value, but also the battery cables and the internal wiring of the battery. This means that if you want to convert an XT30 LIPO to XT60 LIPO, you would have to completely dismantle the battery down to the individual cell and rebuild everything. If these small cells are even strong enough. Otherwise, you can also take the cell apart and rebuild everything with more strength. Have fun. 😂
@Chris Rosser, what motors are included in the "average 6s" bar? Would it not make more sense to compare it to motors that are similar in performance or price? If one motor in the "Average 6S Motor" mass is below the price or performance range, then it would not be comparable.
Did you run any tests on 6s for these new motors? Curious if they would give more flight time than the original supermova motors if not ran on 8s and kept on 6s.
Yeep my 8S quad is the best. I can't wait to try these motors on it. I also noticed when tuning that the p/d ratio is much lower then my other builds, less D and therefore lower D filtering. Will you do a 8S motor shootout? There's a handful out now: Fettech, RC inpower smoox and gtsiv, now yours
Hey Chris. I just preordered 2 sets of these from DeFiance RC. I am curious what prop to use with these on a 5-inch frame to get max speed and efficiency (if that is possible). I will be running 1100 mah, and 1300 mah 8s batteries.
Uh, 8s. Fancy. Which props make sense here? Aren't we spinning standard props much too fast with this setup? Fearing the props might just desintegrate 😮
Gnb do a 8s 650mah at 140grams is not really more weight is it? And look at the numbers 35grams 2699grams of thrust with a 5inch prop its not really hard to work out that it does?
@@Sugalime3D_FPV I am flying 12s man. been for 4 years now. just low KV (380kv). Props won't take 1100kv at 50v that was a joke, large props will go supersonic quickly.. and yes very dangerous! you need conformal coatings everywhere!! but drones where born from 14s-18s RC helicopters. Just the level of skill dropped as to be able to deal with these potentials..
@@Sugalime3D_FPV The brass connectors vaporize if you reverse polarity. Shock is the least of your worries, it's the potentials that will leave you amputated.
@@JLfpv Betaflight doesn't do vtol. Throttle cap does nothing to solve the issue. No resolution, hot motors, etc. Esc's hate super low throttle settings with high power. Heats them and the motors up fast.
@scottyh72 betaflight devs need to.get on that. Cuz no heat in betaflight motor control. I run 5s 2450kv and beat the hell.out of my motors fly vent props and motors Come down barely warm. Sometimes like I didn't even.fly. and I don't even use a throttle limit. Full send baby
Comparing against the average 6s is a bit misleading and makes your motors look better than they are against the wasp major or xing 2. You really should have added a few 6s from your selection not just the average.
You sure went off the rails here. We don't need an 8S battery. Not only is 6S just fine, 8S batteries and electronics are even more expensive, 6S is already expensive enough. What we really need Chris, and please be our hero, is a good 3.5 motor. The 4S 3.5 inch motor selection is woefully thin. PLEASE!
Funny how not a single top racer is flying any of these motors if there so powerful and and efficient. Maybe you should test some better motors and use them as (the average motor) so your test result reflects reality
