@@ouykcuf ? If it does, I guess I haven’t drank the Kool-aid. There’s this old saying, “why dope the speakers when all you have to do is dope the listener.”
Duracell extends the sub-bass, great for rap; Energizer speeds up the treble, awesome with metal; Acme changes the timbre and adds some twang, perfect for country.
Personally I like mixing 2 Duracell and 2 Acme, gives my country sound the bass it neeeeeds! I also heard that if you turn the Mass Kobo around 180, so it's facing away from you, turn the volume nob counter-clockwise while listening to 'Hotel California' by the Eagles then God whispers the secret of what he did on the eighth day.
Some batteries are able to discharge faster than others. This is especially true with lithium batteries. Also, some batteries can hold a near constant voltage until they are almost fully discharged. Regular alkaline batteries will slowly lose voltage as you run them. And lastly, depending on the device you are using, it may include a constant voltage circuit to compensate for voltage loss during operation.
Batteries are the cleanest source of power for audio. Introducing audio products to the mains brings with it RF interference which then needs dealing with. This is according to Rob Watts - the CHORD Electronics guy. I saw that at CanJam London two weeks ago. Cool dude. That's why my Ray Samuels portable audio gear which uses batteries - still sound amazing and clean as a whistle...
Aye but he was also maybe using that as a bullet point for trying to sell mojo 2, and hugo2 systems, because that would be a perfect reason for people who didn’t need them to buy them, from a sales point of view.
Sounds great! Howeever, there also is stuff like the Onix Alpha XI1 which also sounds great, is MUCH more affordable and should definitely reviewed by you.
Hey Z and Community, need your help the reddit rabbit hole is driving me crazy. Just bought the Magni/Modi Schiit stack, no matter what audio source, cables, headphones or gain settings I get a horrible buzz in the left earcup. Returning it needless to say. For someone just starting out with a budget of around 500-700 who loves warm sound what would you suggest for a headphone Dac/Amp setup? No need to be portable. Thank you in advance
with close to zero knowledge regarding electrical engineering, I wouldn't be surprised that amperage and voltage fluctuations could affect the performance of electronics. heck, I've got a battery-powered lamp that's less bright if the batteries aren't charged north of 50%. saying it might affect the sound of an amplifier especially depending on which power-hungry cans one plugs in, doesn't seem far-fetched at all to me.
The guitarist, Eric Johnson, could hear the difference between different battery brands used in the guitar effect pedals in his rig. He was very particular in which brands he used to achieve the sound he wanted. EDIT: Anime was Aho Girl.
oh man i really want you to try the Enleum 23RM and compare them both the enleum cost 3K which makes the mass kobo half its price but i don't think the kobo can power the susvara which i want to use it on them damn it planar B!T3H
Definitely such an interesting amp design in the world of portable/transportable audio. The excitement and variety we have in this hobby right now is at an all time high. Steven. I hope the next portable amp you get in is the IBasso PB5 Osprey. Looks like a giant amp killer. ❤
I hate myself for asking the headfi fb group if there's a specific volume you could Line Out a Chord Mojo 2 to a better portable amp... Coz there is & now I need the equivalent of $1700 USD (about $2600+import fees) ...I have to know!!! 😭😂😭
Ah... just realised the maximum power output is not the maximum power output, it is the maximum power output "WITHOUT DISTORTION". So the actual power output is probably way way more, this is just where saturation begins to be added to the signal. Saturation is a better word for what it talks about as "distortion". In production the term distortion is used for a effect level of distortion. Saturation is distortion that is added harmonic content worth of distortion, before this thresh hold the sound is clean. But the distortion of this unit is where the magic lays, this is where the harmonic information is being added that makes things sound so lush. I wish companies could just give all the specs lol. So even the 433 is not 1.5 watts either side, it's probably at least 3.5 or even more.
Have you listened to the MASS-Kobo Model 433 by any chance? I really want to upgrade my Amp game since the 789 and I had it since your first video. I have your Aeolous, Aryas, Atrium, Sennies 800, KPH40i, plethora of IEMs u recommended and your Eris which will hopefully arrive. I also have the R26 Gustard. Also I'd put Momoka from Sabagebu sticker.
433 is really good. You can talk to Mimic (TJ), he uses that amp and loves it. For the price you can't beat it. 465 just has more power for Tungsten and Sus, but the new Sus doesn't take as much so it may power it just fine. I think Zeos has heard it, it was at Masuda-san's table next to the 465, but he hasn't had an extended audition. It's more powerful than the 475 and has all that Mass Kobo goodness.
@@ZReviews welll my dear friend. Nooo is mostly because you points me to another device thet I really "don't" need , but I want, LoL, and can afford to. So that was more my wallet screaming 😱
www.patreon.com/posts/june-q-free-106837624 This was the first one. I need to create the post for the August one. I was away for all of July so that one was missed.
@@ZReviews aw cool thanks, didn’t see it because subscribe star doesn’t seem to have it posted anywhere. Going to watch it tonight, appreciate the help.
@@ZReviews you got the massive list of questions I sent then. Yes that full list was all from me because I originally sent two, then you mentioned in a video there weren’t enough questions. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer them, really enjoyed listening to the responses. Was like having a conversation - it was practically becoming an interview this second half of the video 😄, so, much appreciated Z. PS - I have indeed now tried the butter in coffee also, and can confirm it is now the only way worth having coffee. Tastes a bit like a good buttery popcorn you would get in the fancier boutique cinemas. It’s minted. Figuratively speaking. Thanks again 🙏
