I recently bought one. GM is giving the consumer the $7500 tax credit right off the top (b/c it doesn't qualify for the credit). To be clear, this is NOT the RS trim. That is still expensive. But the lower LT trim is discounted the $7500 and the option packages are being included at no extra cost. The only option that is an additional cost is the Sunroof which is $1500. I moved from a Model 3 to the Blazer EV. There's a few things that I really miss about the M3, but I REALLY love the Blazer EV
I just visited the Chevy website after seeing this video. No mention of $5K additional discount (though there mention of additional discount that "you may qualify for", though I didn't bother following the link), but the 7500 is there. Two facts really bothered me. Firstly, max range (300+ miles) is only available if you buy the RS, i .e. you can't get the bigger battery pack with the LT. Secondly, to get that longer range, you have to select RWD-only configuration, and that still comes at a markup over the AWD RS(!). Looking at both the LT and RS "build" pages, there were certain options shown as standard, but a number of options still came at a premium e.g. the sunroof as you mentioned, and also trailer hitch. Anyway, it's an attractive vehicle, though I find the range a bit disappointing, and the paint and interior trim color options are super limited. If $37K were for real, though, I would definitely give it a hard look.
I wanted to like it, really did appreciate the red interior, however too much hard plastics on doors especially the rear door and no super cruise option. I am seeing $7500 off regardless of configuration when using the website and dealer mark downs are amazing. We were only interested in the RWD RS and while discounted the AWD can hit $41K!!!!
I've been pricing out Blazer EVs. In CT a Blazer EV LT can qualify for the $2250 state rebate, either the $7500 tax credit or the $7500 Ultium Promise rebate, then whatever other rebates individuals might qualify for (Costco, GM credit card, first responders, supplier employee, etc). I've seen discounts over $16,000 on the Blazer EV LT, which stickers for $50,195. So 30% off plus a low interest rate.
I'm not confident they have the bugs worked out plus it still have the CCS charge port. If you want one lease it now and buy the newest one when the lease is up if you like it. By then it should have the NACS charge port.
Someone please buy it and let us know if there are any issues. Would like to see GM succeed, but their past products were bad, like the bolt battery recall
@@Hybridog was about to point out both those facts. ALmost all companies make a product that has problems. The differentiator is whether the company owns the problem and makes it right for the customer. GM has a mixed history on this measure.
That means there need to be matching demand for them to justify enough production to be profitable. They’d have to sell hundreds of thousands per year. Not going to happen unless they somehow are able to procure enough batteries for that kind of production. This is one of the reasons why GM and other legacy brands just can’t produce EVs anywhere in the same scale as Tesla. They don’t have the means. Hence why they are downplaying EV demand and pivoting focus back to ICE and Hybrids. Those they can make millions per year.
Add Android Auto/Apple Car Play, and I would consider it. Without those two features there other options. Heck, Honda Prologue is essentially a Blazer with Android Auto and Car Play with a nice Honda skin.
@@kallekas8551 Maybe because OEM head units are outdated before they go on sale? With Android Auto or Car Play, you get to choose your navigation, music and messaging options. Voice recognition on Android is top notch, and instead of being stuck in the year you got the car, it gets constant updates. And honestly, for most young people, it is a deal breaker.
@ronlaverdiere Android Automotive is the OS used in the new GM EV's. It is NOT the same thing as Android Auto. Android Auto is a small sub routine used to allow the apps on your Phone or digital device to run on the infotainment screen of the vehicle. Android Automotive is the entire OS in the EV to run or control all the systems and subsystems of the entire vehicle.
while I think the model y is a better car, I have to admit that blazer looks so much better. imagine if instead of tesla just making the model y have longer range, they made body look better and sacrifice a little range due to poorer aerodynamics.
The $7500 IS THE TAX CREDIT! With the new incentive, it is now applied directly at time of purchase. This is in addition to any other discounts (Costco, loyalty, reduced pricing, etc).
@@ronlaverdierebut the Viking’s math includes the $7500 bonus cash AND the $7500 federal tax credit. That’s wrong. Chevy says the bonus cash is only available if the car is not qualified for the tax credit. Whether the dealer is willing to discount the MSRP is another matter.
Amazing how GM released this right the govt here eased the requirements! Have to wonder if this is going to be the asking price going forward or whether this is just an introductory price to get interest and then will be bumped up. I believe GM is only making EVs for show and isn't serious about switching over to them as they cannot make them at a profit.
The masses don't want anything forward looking from GM because it is the same as the past products and doesn't work well at all. Same time people are abandoning their past products for so many good reasons.
Depends on what you value, British luxury cars are historically unreliable or ridiculously expensive to repair, yet they can charge more than everybody else and still sell cars.
One of the main reasons is that Trump declared war on EVs just like BIGLY Oil executives wanted, and MAGAs follow him like he is the Pied Piper! He told similar lies about Covid, mask, deaths, etc. just to try to make him not look as bad as one 1.1 million people in US died horrible deaths.
I’m so happy GM don’t sell cars in Australia anymore, as more and more of them end up on the scrapyard it’s means less of them I have to fix. GM sell 💩 cars.

? I Belong to a Tesla forum, sorry for whatever happened to you but that's not the norm. Most of the people on the forum have older Teslas with mile on them. I have close to 30k miles ZERO issues. So I'm not sure what the hell your going on about.
