How far can you push an electric cargo bike? Do the weekly shop on it? Sure. Take the kids to school? Of course. But can we film an entire video and move house with one? In this video, we put an ebike from Trek to the test, and provide senior video manager Felix Smith with some cheap labour in the process.
The bike in question is the Trek Fetch+, a cargo bike fitted with an electric Bosch motor and space for loads of stuff.

I've had a riese and muller multicharger for about one and a half year so far and I've ridden about 4000 km in my town completely replacing my car! I commute to work, do groceries and sometimes carry friends around town! luca from italy (big fun of yours!!)

We bought a similar bike last year instead of a second car and to reduce usage of our existing car. We’re lucky in that we are close to a lot of off road bike paths and close to shops and the city, bit it’s such an amazing shift in lifestyle - we love it!

I use a Specialized Sirrus (no e-bike for me yet) which I mounted 2 Bushmaster baskets on the back trunk rack. I also have tote bags that fit in the baskets so I don't overload. For a larger item I have a cargo net that spans the overall back. Stores are only about 5 to 20 minutes (one way) from my home. It's actually less time by bike & parking is easier. Same most of my doctors are local & love that I bike to my appointments. Been doing this for years, & before retirement, biked to & from work, rain or shine. 1- Took the same time of travel, but no traffic. 2- Where I worked parking was so picky! In fact in one shop the big boss provided special bike parking be cause I started so many more guys bicycling to work. I think the very loud jerseys I wear drew a lot of attention.

30 days car free, this would give me ideas with what I can do with a cargo ebike. Raining days, sunny days and what I can transport with a cargo e-bike

In my opinion, regardless of what people say... cargo ebike is not a vehicle replacement. Well it can BUT! only for those who can afford to spend this much money will surely buy something like this as a replacement. Again, someone who can buy something costing this much I bet has more than enough financial flex to buy a vechicle immediately if they need to. But honestly will buy as a alternative transportation to their existing vehicle. I say that is the reality, if you don't believe it that is because financial aspect isn't the biggest worry. This is why I don't really like seeing these things as "replacement". I really see it as a additional alternative transportion to existing vehicle. I bet you don't wear 1 pair of footwear year around, right? but have footwear for specific tasks & general everyday wears.
