In the 80's Japanese Gundam modelers used to use the chalk technique. They apply the chalk with one brush and use another brush, to brush and move it around the area they want.
dude, i was mid watching this video this morning.. and i was like bro it was an old upload what happened. glad to see it back up and i continue where i left off..
Just found your video and gave you another sub. I've got an Anycubic photon mono 4k and am so addicted to printing and figure painting is now my true love. 🙂Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist
Hi! I really love your paint work! I think you are the best I’ve seen. I was wondering, do you ever do painted print models for sale? I wanted to request if you could do a 14 inch tall Judy Alvarez from Cyberpunk 2077 figure. She’s a very loved video game character by many people. It seems that no one yet has ever done or made a Judy Alvarez figure, so you might be the 1st one on youtube. She has lots of tattoos, so I believe those can be done with water-transfer method. I would be interested in buying a Judy Alvarez figure from you, if that’s ok with you. I’m just getting interested in learning how to do airbrush painting & your videos really inspire me & really make me want to learn. Your videos are awesome!
Thank you soooo much for those kind words. That means the world to me to hear that. Right now, I don't do any commission work. As far as that character, I'd be interested to see if there's a file available to print and paint. If I found a good one, then I'm definitely open to that one! I'll keep my eyes open for a model of her.
Is it cheating if I have the same model and do exactly what you do? Lol It still comes out much different, different colors, washes.... however out of all the channels on RU-vid, I find you have the best touch of instructing. I might have even said this before. The characters you paint and collect are right down my alley. Just watched your Wolverine museum piece and it's so badass!
Envy your talent so much. I wish I could do this with my prints (which are all just left grey) but my hands just shake too much and I can't paint in the lines :)
Great video. I watched my wife apply make up, the only thing I learnt was how she'd look as a s*x doll when she applied mascara!!! Lol. I always learn something here.
Another great video ! I'm realizing that I am doing everything wrong and you are helping out a ton. Can you recommend a set to get for the air brush? I'm looking and I have no knowledge of it I just bought army painter mega set because thought my paint was bad but seeing now that air brush and coming in with detail with paint is what most do for clean paint Jobs all your info helps if you've already mention I'm a video or anything just refer me to that if easier I'm bout to buy a air brush too but want to make sure I get what is right and need for these projects
@The Creative Collector is Vallejo paint brand or air brush ? Trying to see what app need for an air brush o see they have different packages but idk whats what in those packages besides the extra paint in some
another great job with the vid and model, as always :) a question, if you were to use the airbrush for the shading step, what type of colors would you use instead of the pastels ?
Henry, maybe a silly question here but in general when you do washes do you use a paper towel like you did with the face and get off as much as you can eg on the: Base/gun metal parts?
It's all about the prep work before paint. Just take your time. Make sure to patch up gaps and seams. Sand where you need to and remove all dust. When you hand brush, do it in layers so you don't have streaks. Use a good sealer in the end.
Love all the painting process, its so satisfying. I always wondered, how many bottles of resin does it take to print those 1/6 sculpts you uploaded from Wicked and B3Dserk? and 0.5kg or 1kg per bottle?
It depends. I hollow all of my models so some don't take as much as others. The basic ones take around a 1500 to 2000 grams most of the time. Sometimes not even that much.
I haven't done a video for that yet. I'm thinking about making one on supports since I get asked about that a lot. If I do, hollowing will be part of that process.
what are you using to hold the models in place while painting them? I got some aligator clips but they just aren't doing the trick for different sections I'm test printing right now.
I use alligator clips or skewers in the holes I put in them or I just hold it with my hand but make sure I seal the part first so the paint doesn't wear off.
Please, if you have such an opportunity, make a video about Kitana, Milena or Jade, very beautiful characters from the MK universe, it will be very pleasant and interesting to watch your cool work. Thank you in advance
@@TheCreativeCollector I liked your technic no bunch of colors on top of others just one skin tone, even you previous mixed , its just one paint no layers no zenithal etc
The hair and the costume still look kinda flat, imo. Couldve added blueish highlights to the hair and bit more dark and light color variance on the costume.
I'm thinking about getting some 3-D models in there but some aren't to paint it I'm trying to using the same paint as I do for the war hammers and that is that good pink to go with
