Also FYI, you don't have to walk to the main towns. Using a TP when you enter an overall area will tp you to that areas town, for example Heoborea, then you can grab the WP.
@@Zizaran I’m so used to Poe sending you backwards at the act entrances I didn’t even think to try. Accidentally did it trying to reset the zone to level a bit and was like whoa. Not sure where each cutoff is to send you forward yet but worth experimenting with.
The dungeon you didn't mention, the Lightless Arbor, will jump you from just after leaving the Last Refuge to the Risen Lake, cutting out the cultists, the temple, and the imperial city. Complete the quest in the Ruined era for idol slots, then time travel to Imperial era and, as mentioned, walk one or two zones over for the Soulfire Bastion to Heboria trip. Still have to jog a bit from the Lake to get access to the Temporal Sanctum and the resulting shortcut to the factions, but should still be easier/quicker than going through all of Heboria and fighting Lagon.
I'm also glad he mentioned Monolith cheesing first (and it kinda bums me out that it's a possibility if I'm being honest; I'm a firm believer Monoliths should only open after killing Majasa), because if you try to do Lightless Arbor "legit", IE by the time you actually get there through regular progress (19-22), that dungeon is a GOD DAMN nightmare. If he didn't, it would have probably turned off a lot of people from using the skips. It probably has the worst mechanic of all 3 skip paths in the game, coupled with the worst possible combination of monsters inside.
You don't have to fight Lagon on alts, even if you do it the normal way. By the time you've gotten the lance in Chapter 7 you will have gotten all of your passives and idol slots. You can skip out right then.
I would love to see an alt twinking guide. Just some ideas on how to collect gear on a main that will buff a new char. Having trouble finding much on this, but I love twinking alts
Yeah a video going over all the solid leveling uniques would be awesome. I imagine the best possible thing you could do is get some high move speed low level req unique boots with LP and slam T7 movement speed on them.
The best way to boost an alt character is by taking low level uniques with Legendary potential and then turning them into legendaries through the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. That’s the best way to creating leveling items for alts
also if you can find someone with end of time zone unlocked to invite you to party, you can teleport to them and get your mastery. so you will get your mastery passive and active skill even at level one, speeding up the leveling a lot and specializing in your mastery skill immediately if you need it. same goes for unlocking factions
Old video but for people coming back here on season start, play till act 5's ending, complete only the quests for slots or passives then go to monoliths around level 35 ish. Hunt down a key to the temporal sanctum then attempt Julra around level 60, you can skip till act 9 like that and complete it. If you fail the sanctum, go back to monos get another key. This way you can complete the campaign and get a headstart on exalted gear, LP uniques and level 50+ item bases from monos
Nice! I got a key and knew about those skips, but i didnt even attempt the monoliths yet. I just assumed they were locked until i finished the campaign. Thanks for the video!
I do personaly like the possibility to skip campaing alltogheter after beating it one time. Its an unnessesary time sink where you dont really do much but a chore. A one button skip with giving you the 15 passive points and idol slots(if you aquired them conventionaly at least once) would be a much welcome option.
I wish more games had the Diablo 3 adventure mode to level alts after you're done with the campaign You can say whatever you want about the game, it's THE one feat I wish were in other ARPGs as well
Would love to see a detailed video on why Ziz thinks the full campaign skip is a bad thing. Lord knows I have never played an ARPG for the story. Everyone just wants to get to "endgame" ASAP.
INGAME COPY PASTA: Have 3 dungeon keys in bag, ~lv25 do LA from CultCamp, after exit walk east to SB~lv40, after get Heobora wp, tp Risen Lake Imp Era, walk west, kill Dreadnought boss, walk east from Shining to time rift, do ~lv 55 TS, walk east, free dude, enter Maj'elka, kill endboss+do Idols
Enjoyed the video. I heard they might add 3 more acts/chapters to the game bringing the total to 12. Seems like a lot. Having a way to shorten the campaign is a huge help. Hopefully POE takes note.
Great video as usual! I would also add the arbor skip, which is the 1st one you come across, and how that fits into the route and it would be 10/10. I have to disagree with 1 thing though, Diablo's full skip feature is the best way to handle a linear campaign for ARPGs in my opinion. When I play a linear campaign for the 2nd time I always skip everything and dash to the shiny point in my map until I can play what I really want. Even if it's just 2 to 4 hours to get all passive points and idol slots, I don't understand why I still have to waste all that time instead of unlocking it account wide the first time you beat it and just let me enjoy the game however I want instead (in this case, jump straight into monoliths). I mean, you can always enable the campaign again if you want to and play through it instead of the open world approach, but in all honesty, when a new season starts I want to try out the new seasonal content ASAP, not watch the story I've watched 50 times over. Just my take on the campaign skip feature.
That was my absolute favorite thing about D4 is you can just speed level your alts and one of my biggest gripes with POE. I respect what LE is doing but I'll personally let it cook more until it has it's own Mavens and exarchs etc etc.
Having to go through PoE's campaign on every single character every single league is what caused me to quit. I just didn't feel like spending 2-3 days of my play time just to get a character to maps.
Nice to have an option but it's too convoluted. They say they are all about respecting the players time, so this needs some optimization long term I think. Maybe just put the unlocks in monolith completions? There is probably a much more elegant way to do it, just tossing ideas around for conversations.
you don't have to do soul bastion dungeon to get all idol slots, its faster to run to oracle's abode, do a few of the side quests there, dont know the names, then do monos to 50-60 and skip through shining cove & do a9 sides
Great video, thank you! I’m not even close to completing my rogue so won’t need this for another couple of weeks at least, but it’s great to know the method first and collect those keys.
***Important Note: For the Temporal Sanctum you have to have to have progressed far enough to get to The Oracle's Abode and get the quest The Sapphire Tablet. If you try to go through the first door in shining cove before that it simply won't open.
If you have a friend you can get them to invite you and then tp to them and get the teleport etc and also your mastery. I did this at lvl 4 ofc you cant kill stuff in the echos. your friend can kill them just stay in range of xp and ez skip that way :D
Interesting, I love the way this game does the campaign skip, it takes knowledge and preparation to pull off well, and rewards you for it. This game is VERY well designed holy shit. Also this means that every time someone asks for a campaign skip button for this game, we can accurately help them out by saying it's a skill issue.
They need to automatically unlock the passive points and idols based on your level once you've acquired them on a single character. I did not enjoy the campaign at all on the three characters I played. The monolith is streamlined, fast, and fun. I just want to get right to doing it.
They keys for all three skip dungeons were found on chests in places you are 1000% going to goto and walk past on your first character - that said, i am playing offline so I dont know if that is why and they dont have these yellow-quest-marked chests during the campaign for online.
I really wish Path of Exile would adopt a system like this for Alt Characters. Imagine if when you reached maps you unlocked a Boss Gauntlet of sorts for each Act, where you can skip the Act if you can survive fighting that Acts bosses in a row. There's no justifiable reason in 2024 as to why we need to run the campaign multiple times.
GGG wants to torture its players. that is the sole reason. they view POE as a hardcore game and it shall stay that way until it makes no sense and beyond.
@@WindsoulsI know the reasons they gave, but that doesn't mean they're good reasons with enough justification to warrant people accepting them. The campaign isn't anything special and after running it a half-hundred times, why should I have to run it a half-hundred times more to get to the meat of the game? I wouldn't mind having to grind 10 hours to get to endgame rather than the 3 it takes me to get through the campaign. I just want something different to do to level up. Endless Delve, Heist, Blighted Maps, Simulacrum, Boss rushes. Something that isn't spamming movement skills across 10 Acts.
@@TXIIILightning They are definetily good reasons, and those are coming from the developers of the best ARPG ever, so they obviously understand how these games work and why it would hurt the game experience. It doesn't matter if you accept it or not, they won't change it.
Get well soon Ziz, that being said you talking 5 octives lower than normal will never not be hilarious to me, the intro is always so jarring and makes me laugh.
I've been saying for years that once you defeat A10 Kitava you should get the option to make *ONE* level 65 character with no gear that spawns Karui shores. Sure, with twink gear you can speed through the acts in like 3hrs, but wouldn't it be nice to save those 3 hours? Nice QoL for LE to have these skips
I'd say that's overcomplicated method. I'd rather like that they make it so you get passive points and idol slots for completing monoliths on alts, as well as access to dungeons.
I've lost both Lightless and Soulfire keys due to entering room and appearing dead on floor and last one was disconnection during boss fight at Soulfire. Sucks. But Runemaster is GREAT!!
It's nice that this exists, but honestly I find it easier to just auto pilot through the campaign than to try to hit dungeons at certain levels then go back and do specific quests for points. Me no Good thinking, but story go brrrrr.
I honestly hate they have you gather the passive/idols again on an alt - why have skips that then have you backtracking to unlock stuff - it's counter productive.
How do you get to temporal sanctum after soulfire bastion I don't get it at all. After soulfire you get spit out at wengari fortress what from there? Do I have to go to like the outcasts chapter and run until the imperial dreadnought?
You have to progress the campaign i guess, it just sucks that nobody explains it clearly, they act like you do the dungeons and you're done in every guide. If i knew that i would have just leveled normally.
No, when you go into the very first town at the beginning of the game, there are two people standing opposite one another from each faction. Talk to them and they will allow you to choose your faction
@@nazeera2 Yes you are correct. Fastest route to monoliths while also unlocking the idols and passives is around lvl 45. Last idol quest is at act 6. Then you can do sanctum and exist is at act 9 so you can directly open the faction zones in the city. This way you don't miss anything. Yes you can skip the campaign if you ignore everything like in the video but what is the point?
@@nazeera2 I'm not saying what is the point of skipping the entire compaign. You will NEED to do the quest for idols and passives at some point anyway so best way to actually skip the useless parts is what i've said in the comment. It would be great if passives and idol slots as a quest rewards were not a thing but they are. Ignoring them is not really true "skipping the campaign" experience in my eyes.
@@XxKidnoffxX so you dont know, and i watched the video there is not "boom you get the idols for free and passives without actually dooing the quest for them so please learn the game
@@Jollux2124 Wtf man, you can't have them just with a click and boom. But you drop Dungeon keys, and take shortcut to go in the towns for those quest without having to do all the zone and stuff of the campaign.... Just watch the video and learn the game yourself!
Ziz, take some time man. We all love your content, but its paneful to hear/see you like this. Thanks for this video, I actually found it very usefull....but take care of yourself. Unless you love doing this so much.....its therapeutic for you. But make sure to take care so you can " try to die less than I do."
I, myself, and fighting strep throat, trying to enjoy Last Epoch, but can't even play because of the server issues. I've gotten to level 30, but I just keep getting disconnected when transitioning from one area to another. Not to mention the rubber-banding. If it wasn't the server issues, I'd be thoroughly enjoying the game, but the server issues are putting the kibosh on my fun in the game. Anyone know if they have an ETA on the fixes?
I never minded the campaign in PoE since it’s only a few hours, and it’s also a core part of the day 1 racing. You can just buy a carry if it bothers u.
There are reasons why they decide for you to do the campaign. It makes you stick more with your character. Same with auto inventory sort which makes items feel like they have less weight and are just pictures moving around
@gamer45 Both of you have weird takes, I'm not talking about your first character, I'm talking about subsequent characters if you reach level 95 or something of the like, you should be able to skip it and pay like a set 5-10 divines to just have a 70 base character. The game has infinite creativity to be had so you'll already be spending a lot of time, purchasing gear, respeccing, recrafting, farming materials, limit testing & leveling etc. Why add another 3-7 hours onto that monotony? Seems rather dated with the busy lives people lead nowadays. And there are plenty of flaws or faults with that reasoning chopper, you're already using third party programs to plan your characters, and if they don't feel good or don't work out and you already have to commit more time to selling that characters gear, or if you roll something that is meta and the gear ends up being too expensive to have a good time, why not just allow a small portion of your money to go to boosting something new so you don't get deterred. Anyone that defends it either has not played the game very much or is downright strange. You must not value your time
@@kizzagaming6523 pay a friend 5-10 divines to rush you through the campaign if it's an issues for you. that's what I do with every toon I create after saving some currency
sadly its really over complicated too get the passives and idols and early monos are deadly especially on hc. I will try it cause my char rip today and im not in the mood to play the whole campaign again, its too long for my taste compared to poe. is there anywhere a written overview for the fastest passives and idols? i cant remember which quest gives what
have a freind tp you around the map to all the cutscene areas... quests behind will auto complete. takes maybe 2 hours to finish campaign. had it done at lvl 29
You could do the monoliths with your first character as soon as you get there. The skipping with the key doing the dungeon can't be done until you have the keys, which is why it is suggested to do it with alts.
You...erm...you now that trope in films and TV right? The one where a character has a cold and their voices deepen and everyone starts finding them sexy? Oh? No reason, no reason at all... asking for a friend.
