You CANNOT Hear This MINECRAFT Song, Here's Why... 

the symbolism behind the songs tone and the fact that its literally named "excuse" is crazy

I don't know why but this "minecraft song" calms me down everytime i hear it

This has always been my favourite song on the Alpha OST! Another good and lesser known one from the beta soundtrack is Eleven, not the disc, but the soundtrack version.

Everybody talking about Excuse and Death, but we don’t talk about Door, Chris and Equixoxe?!

Other songs in the soundtrack that aren't in the game are the last two: Droopy Likes Ricochet and Droopy Likes Your Face. These tracks originally came from C418's album "Life changing moments seem minor in pictures." The first of the two, "Droopy Likes Ricochet" was used for a Minecraft trailer back in 2010, so C418 decided to add it to the soundtrack, as well as Droopy Likes Your Face because the songs go together.

I've actually made a mod that lets you add these songs back into the game! i'm currently working on an update to it that will let you choose which songs play in every different music location, so you can get rid of the new music, add the unused songs, and customize it however you want! it also has other things like letting you change how often music plays, or making the music play at a random pitch to make more variation

Excuse sounds like it would fit in overworld tbh.

Since there's more biome specific music in Minecraft, they could've done that to Excuse and making it play only while it's raining, also there's not just Death and Excuse that are unused, but songs like Door, Beginning, Moog City, Équinoxe, Chris, Droopy Likes Your Face, Droopy Likes Ricochet, Intro, Ki, Flake and Kyoto which used to play on the console edition Festive mashup pack and as well Eleven though there's already an Eleven music disc in the game, this is completely different and yet all this time, I don't understand why they're not in the game they're such great songs, if they aren't in the game they shouldn't be in the album.

4:27 i loved this use of the taco bell and 11's opening chime straight after, it parodied in a way so well it made me laugh. I Feel the same way about another song in the beta album called flake, I suppose it didn't make it into the game due to having a winter aesthetic, which wouldn't tie well with randomly playing music.

Key? Door? Mood city? There are other songs not in game. Thats the point, he wanted there to be a reason beyond it being the game songs to listen to the soundtrack Death?

"Excuse" Its a freaking good song, It make you relax but at the same time has a suspense vibe. Wish that could be included :/

Both Volume Alpha and Beta have their own exclusive songs so there would be a reason to listen to the album form and not in the game, it's more than just a compilation of songs that play on a game, especially since it flows seamlessly from track to track, there was clearly lots more thought put into it than just putting the tracks that got into the game into an album. True, Excuse was originally meant to be the nether theme but ended up being an album exclusive. There's a lot more songs like this. Dog would play after the Cat disk on consoles for a while, and that wasn't meant to happen, Dog was always meant to be album exclusive. I believe Kyoto from Volume Beta plays on a Console Edition DLC Pack iirc. The last Console Edition related trivia I have is that the first few tracks for the battle minigames were composed by Daniel but afterwards it was some other guy that I don't remember his name. And there were also tracks that just never got into the game like Moog City 2. Death is just an interlude on the album and that's all, Door could only make sense in the context that it comes after Key on Volume Alpha, couldn't fit in the game; and, again, there's a lot more album exclusive tracks. Btw, the tracks Thirteen and Eleven have nothing to do with the discs, which are actually nowhere to be seen on the albums. Another one that I think I should talk about is Droopy Likes Your Face/Droopy Likes Ricochet: these are songs that have nothing to do with Minecraft, they are tracks from a previous C418 album Life Changing Moments Seem Minor in Pictures, the reason they were associated with Minecraft and added in Volume Alpha was because they got used on a Minecraft trailer. Also, Life Changing Moments Seem Minor in Pictures features a sort of acid/breakbeat "remix" of Minecraft's title track and Droopy makes another appearance on 148 as Droopy Remembers. Speaking of which, 148 features some "remixes" of Minecraft songs, most of them build up a sort of medley together: Dreiton is Vierton, Aria Math is Aria Economy, Biome Fest is Biome Party, and technically there's also Alpha being Beta. It also features Tsuki no Koibumi 2, the sequel to the song from one which was made for the Minecraft/Mojang documentary. Now you may have noticed a connection with Dreiton and Vierton, that in German Drei is 3 and Vier is 4, what if I told you there's another? In an older more obscure album Zweitonegoismus, the opener is called Zweiton (Zwei is 2), this is the original one, Dreiton and Vierton are the sequels, they're not really similar but they are connected. One last fun fact: originally, the Minecraft soundtrack was meant to be done by Deadmau5, or at least Joel in collaboration with Daniel. But we ended up with just Daniel, and the only ties with Minecraft-Deadmau5 are his unique Minecraft Skin and the track Living Mice being a reference to him (there's a lot of other tracks Daniel has made referencing other musicians like Oxygene and Equinoxe being a reference to the Jean Michell Jarre albums, Clark and Chris are a reference to Chris Clark, Mice on Venus is Mouse on Mars, etc). There are still some tracks they made together that can be found on the internet, and a cave theme can be found on C418's 7 Years of Server Data. I think that's all I have to say, the last thing I want to say is that if you haven't checked out the rest of the albums C418 has made I highly encourage you to do it, even some of the more obscure releases like Zweitonegoismus, Circle or Sine, but yeah, the stuff that's available on streaming are his best works. Excursions is literally one of the best albums I've ever heard and one of my most favorites of all time.

Équinoxe is also a really good music that is in the minecraft volume alpha album but is not in the game

I'm glad I'm not the only person who actually listens to the entire soundtrack. Like the whole thing constantly. Including music discs, removed/replaced tracks, and even the Minecraft console edition ones (example being: The Mini Games, DLCs, etc) I take it seriously because I love this game so much. Hell I even listen to the new tracks and I actually enjoyed it I personally must say Sweden is HELLA overrated though Seeing this video, made me happy and just want to put the entire track on loop again 😂

Can't deny that I play Excuse on a basis. Not only did it have a role in my highschool years, but it has helped me in ways I never understood til now

TLDR The reason why this song isn't in the game isn't weird at all. In fact, there are a handful of songs from each album that doesn't exist in the game for the simple reason of them sounding too similar to other songs and some of them were never meant to be in the game and exclusive to the albums, subsequently encouraging people to buy the albums and not just hear all the tracks in-game. For example, "Cat" is in the game, but "Dog" isn't. Do you know why? The songs are almost identical.
