👌🏽 If one hasn’t worked on one’s and honed a philosophy beyond just accruing money as their daily life then money is one of the most addictive substances on the planet. There’ve been studies showing a correlation between loss of values, qualify of life and empathy to wealth increasing beyond what is needed.
@@ladybooksmith3347 of course. The majority. That’s the problem, a small minority have obscene amounts of wealth and gain power to influence or lead over us with that wealth. While the majority are not getting even their most basic needs met - and cannot put the wisdom they have or values they hold into full practise as they are traumatised, tormented, oppressed or simply working so much they have no life or time left for contemplation or growth for the greater good. The wisest people are those who are often have suffered usually. Not always but there’s a reason why cultures that produce some of the most valuable contributions to world art, music are those have had to build resilience and stoicism in the face of oppression. We have it twisted. The poor, the disabled, the ill, the outcasted, the minorities that haven’t had privilege should be our leaders.

For those that find you, are those who know how to look at a piece of art long enough to notice the things that everyone else seems to gloss over. Normally we dread possible futures for social reasons, it's evasion of potential shame. I memorised my favourite Aurelius quote: "Or is it your reputation that's bothering you? But see how quickly we are all forgotten! The emptiness of those applauding hands." So we typically deflect agency onto imagined other people, who don't know either, let alone for us. Approval of people who can never really know you means nothing.
The highest goods are within us! And no one can take that from us. No one can stop me from being kind! They for sure could try to influence me, but if my conscience accepts that no one have that kind of power over me, then I'm finally free. I see that every video contains a different message, but remais inside the same principles. Most of us tend to see freedom as a dollar sign, but actually that is just another prison in disguise. It's best if we free ourselves from our mental prisons (anxiety, fear, guilt, greed...), then we can finally go after what really makes us happy, and for me, that is having peace of mind. During meditation I find myself coming across this broad range of thoughts that are full of guilt and anxiety . This really supports the idea that once you realize to focus on the present and get rid of the idea of not feeling like your doing enough puts you in an abundant state since you are allowing the self to flow.
It's called dissociation. We can also dissociate into social media, video games, books and the past or imagined future. It's the problem of our times. A socially acceptable escapism or possibly self-destruction, blotting out the protective ego.

Unfortunately i know of people that have taken what is not there's and have been "successful" while me with all my morals and always trying to do no harm is struggling. I feel like this world is not made for those with virtue, it keeps kicking us down.
A 6 pack of abs is not built in the gym overnight. It takes time and consistency to work and strengthen those muscles to see results. See yourself as a child. How would you speak to a child? I'm sure you would speak to soothe, to uplift and to love. You owe yourself the same treatment. You owe yourself the same peace of mind. The mind is a powerful master or a faithful servant, and you are the one who holds the key, always, all ways. If we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change. It's funny how people often don't really know what's truly important. I know an old man who has cancer, yet his priorities remain focused on working even harder to secure a higher retirement. It crossed my mind that he may pass away before ever getting to enjoy that retirement. He already has the opportunity to retire now
The title might be cynical but I found it so so profound, just reading it felt like a strike of inspiration. I'm only 22 but as I've grown up, I've *always* lived in the future. *When* I get out of highschool turned into when i get out of uni to when I get a job etc. etc. My friend told me I tend to 'plan' for joy and often I didn't understand how to fix it or live in the present more. @@seabreeze4559 Im not sure if it was dissociation or not- more like disconnect from emotions to a certain extent. Just like the feeling that im not "Allowed" to enjoy anything unless i actively earn it/plan for it. But i'll look into dissociation more! It could be a form of it.

I don’t agree with your examples of problems and worries. You failed to address a the idea of something you are genuinely experiencing in the present moment. Such as a painful medical condition that you are very much experiencing in the present moment, not some existential worry that’s easy to put off and rationalize

I once had a neighbor who was cutting down a healthy 11 year old tree, because the leaves fell on to his new truck. I was horrified, and went over to the tree with my wooden walking stick and asked the tree spirits to jump into it (kodama) and I took the tree spirits over to my tree, where it now lives. I now have a tree I visit at the pond, and he said his name is Daryl. I go and touch him, talk to him, hug him, and sometimes kiss him. The tree in front of my home said her name is Cassandra. I had an acquaintance who on plant medicine, could have hours of conversation with the trees. She said that they know the entire history of the earth. I believe it, because all trees can communicate with all trees, because of the mycelium underneath them in the dirt, which are the transmission highways. There is a book on this.

Do you know who's most likely to cheat in studies? Socialists. Really. So all the collectivism talk is rationalization. Humans are innately selfish and might rationalize why they "need" that money.
In addition, if you know a thief, they always see themselves romantically. Collectively. Like Robin Hood. So yeah, most people would take the cash and like people who say they WANNA win the lottery, to donate it all to charity, they spend imagined sums when they could donate a real dollar or whatever NOW. I think that apart from asking ourselves "what is upsetting me in this very moment" the opposite question should be asked and treated in similar way as well: "what is making me happy/calm in this very moment". This is a "silent" and missed area that seem to be overlooked. Got a promotion, graduated from school, passed an exam; all in the past. Meeting friends this weekend, going abroad next month, travelling to another continent towards end of this year; all in the future. All of the above are what mind considers good or happy...what mind is also clinging to. This in turn takes us away from the present moment, which in my opinion is the optimal place for happiness. I'm not religious but Jesus said to live in the world but not of the world, meaning to take action and participate in the daily affairs of life but not to cling to the outcome of it all, good or bad. I'm not sure that "most of us wouldn't" take the stolen money if we could be certain we would get away with it.This doesn't ring true with my observations of human nature. I take it you disagree with Nietzche's belief that most morality is cowardice?
I'm really struggling with how to weigh morality in some situations. For instance, the concept of stealing. For instance, energy companies that make record profits (criminally high profits - but it's not criminal according to law) especially during a cost of living crisis. I think morally this is wrong, this should be classed as stealing from the poor (they need energy, they do not have much choice) But according to law, it's perfectly legal, contracted and above board. So if you asked me the same question "Here, have this money, but it's stolen" Whether I decide to take the money can't be down to the use of the word 'Stolen' can it? If you told me it was stolen from some greedy company, is it wrong to take in that instance? Especially if they got that money by ill means. Of course, if it's 'Stolen from your neighbour' that's a different question. The concept of morality isn't always the generally prescribed 'black and white' version, is this a problem? I don't know.

I just finished a 6 year legal battle with my former employer, their disability carrier, and the SSA to ensure I wouldn’t be pushed to the far corners of the earth to die alone with no home, money, or access to care. It was worth it for me long term but painful short term since I don’t like money and didn’t want to be put in a position to fight for it. It’s a major spiritual conflict that I’m still struggling to reconcile as I tie up all the loose ends from greedy lawyers and disability insurance carrier egregious and intentional mistakes. There’s no solution to this issue much bigger than me from systems I have to rely on to stay alive. Often times I’d rather give up entirely.
I still don't seem to understand the meaning of this video... I just want to make enough money to provide for my poor elderly parents (Dad is 81 and recently had a stroke and Mom is 71 and still working to help with expenses) and make myself happy but it's extremely hard...
My highest good is to eradicate poverty through communal living places all over the country. Challenging the real estate market, and other industries through shared living and sustainable living. All people deserve necessities and the addition beauty. Because we love beauty.

I had a “scary dream” last night and it was about two victims and two thieves. In the dream I saw two ladies in great distress so I asked what was wrong and one of the ladies kept saying “They took everything from me. They stole my wealth and they took everything!” And then suddenly the scene shifted and I saw those two thieves caught. One was an older guy and one a younger boy. They had each six fingers and toes cut off and in the dream I was wondering why six fingers and toes…🤔 I’m interpreting it as so they cannot grab more than necessary or run.🤔❓

I don’t think it’s the flowery words such a kindness that prevent theft or immoral action. I think it has more to do with the issue of living a lie. It’s a repulsion towards falsehood not unkindness towards others. I think we all know on an unconscious level that lies are never as good as reality- to earn one’s money truly is to be alive. Everything else gambling, prostitution, porn, theft etc are impulsive actions which lead to misery because they are lies and hurt oneself. So it is not because the actions hurt someone else’s feelings that we change our habits, although there might be some weight to that.
