I get a lot of messages and questions asking WHY I moved to Costa Rica...this is the best way I can explain myself. I hope it inspires you or anyone to just do whatever it is that you cannot stop thinking about. Pura Vida.
When I was in my 20's and thought of 40's I said... wow you're done at that age. Now at my almost 54 I understand you very well. I'm glad you made the move and are following your inside voice. Good luck, peace, and blessings.
Take it from me; I first came to Costa Rica in 2003; I was 47 at the time I had a good job in Las Vegas I worked hard and owned two homes and thought I was living the perfect life until I came here and fell in love with the country, the people and the women were just so beautiful and I met a guy at work that was married to a well educated Tica when she met me she said she had a friend that would be perfect for me; but she warned me that her friend was very religious and there wouldn't be any sex unless I married her and I thought that was weird and I wasn't really interested until I met her and saw her big brown eyes and beautiful dimples when she smiled and I fell in love with her and thank God she saw something in me so I asked her to come back to the States on a K1 visa and she took a chance and did she didn't know much English at the time and I didn't know much Spanish ; but we married and after eighteen years of marriage our love is stronger than ever and now I'm living happily ever after with her in Costa Rica since 2014 and I don't miss the USA in the least and at 67 I feel like a young man and I still pinch myself every day hoping this isn't a dream; take it from me you made the right decision moving here and you will live a much longer and quality life here in the long run. Pura Vida
My wife's brother lives in San Jose, however we travel from Florida to Costa Rica 3-4 times a year. We never stay in San Jose. There is way more to experience in that country. My wife finds locals and things to do just like you did. At 61, my years are definitely numbered. 1 more year and it's Costa Rica full time. Keep up the videos. Found your channel 2 days ago. Is your son and wife digging it? Enjoy
Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it, stick around. Yes, they love it here. It’s hard not to love it. Once you start to realize what life should be, it becomes easy to accept the change. Good luck with the move, keep in touch!
What you described at the beginning of the vid is a "mid-life crisis"-the existential realization you have more days behind you than in front. Most people don't experience it until their fifties so you are ahead of the curve. Congrats! You and I both are 6 years away from 50 except I'm on the other side. I'm on the "CR three year plan"...
Thank you for this comment. I didn’t realize it, but you’re 100% right. It’s a midlife crisis, and the way you explained it makes me feel l🥲that as of right now, it’s less of an actual crisis. 💪🏻
I didn't much like working for other people. Did it for 25 years, that was enough. My time is my own now and moving abroad had a lot to do with that. Time and health are the only things that matter.
Another great video brother. I am about to be 54 in April, so 10 years ahead of you in this beautiful life. Headed back to CR for my bday to do more recon on where I want to land. Do you find it easy making new friends there? I’ve been twice in the last 6 mos, and everyone has always been very nice.
That’s awesome! I did CrossFit for 5 years but injured my shoulder so had to do some modifications. I’m still in the gym 3-4 times a week so will definitely be looking for a good place to workout. Your videos are a huge inspiration. Making the decision to leave family and friends to heed the call of your heart is not an easy one. I still have trepidation. Some days I’m like fuck it I’m gone, then doubt creeps in. I’m going to keep visiting every 4 months or so till I find the place that suits me best. Maybe Santa Teresa will be my next stop? Ill definitely let you know. Pura Vida!
@@JAK3080 Nice! I love CrossFit and functional training, it is all awesome. You should check out Santa for sure, I'm glad the vlog inspires you bro! You just have to do it, what is the worst that can happen, right?
