Our goal today is to camp on the Christmas Valley Sand Dunes. But in this upload I shake things up with my trailer. We do my least favorite thing while on an offroad trip.. And our Power wagon gets a deflating lesson about cornering in the sand...

It might survive a day of hard off road use, but not muchore. My OGT Expo 2.0 is falling apart on the Washington BDR. Stove literally blew up. Screws and Bolts are coming loose! Electrical doesn't last. Sometimes signal lights don't work. List goes on. Mine is a mega lemon, nothing but problems. Let me know if you want to chat about my experience! I took the expo 2.0 from Ontario to BC, and then down the Washington BDR where we are right now. We might actually abandon the trail because the trailer is not safe.

I run a home built square drop trailer with Timbren axles. I used to baby it, trying to avoid rocks, and bumps putting my Jeep in harms way to cater to the trailer thinking the trailer was the weak link. Then it dawned on me. The trailer is not going to get me home. Granted mine is not a $45k trailer, but save the Jeep and let the trailer fend for itself, it will be fine. Your cargo is a different story. You need to compartmentalize everything, a container within a container. Otherwise if something breaks loose, like a frying pan, it will destroy everything in that container, better to have smaller containers inside a bigger one. Ask me how I know.

A helpful bit of info: when airing down the camper trailer for off-road, you can generally get away with airing down even lower than the tow vehicle safely (outside of beadlocks) and get a much more squishy ride. Especially with the Timbren it’d be really helpful. The tow rig is a lot less likely to pop a bead, as there is no torque from a drive train or added pressure from steering changes on the trailer. Just thought I’d share my experience on that front. Great video, as always!

you will need to replace those screws with allen head screws for the shelves. First thing a lot of us Expedition owners did a s the shelves will move on you over rough roads.

Paul was bang on with the suspension but what almost all of the offroad trailer manufactures miss is that they should be running tandem axles. They ride and gravel way better because when one tire hits a bump the other three stabilize the trailer. On a single axle it just tips the trailer. They also float better in soft ground so they are easier to tow. Packaging on a small trailer with 2 axles is hard to Keep tongue weight in check.

The trees with red trunks are called Ponderosa Pine. The reddish bark is normal in the mature trees.

Really surprised that for that $$ the trailer doesn’t come with the advanced suspension. On a good note, glad to see no issues with overheating while pulling the trailer in the JLURD. Encouraging….

Awe, Chef Jon does it again. Who says you can't eat great food on the trail.... Trailer is cool Casey, bigger tires might help. Indians used then laza tubes to hide from the soldiers. Pretty go trick, worked well for a while. My Jeep is still in the shop having the air lockers installed, so I haven't be out. Thanks for the ride, catch you on the next upload. RSmiley, Oregon

They are Timbren Axles, that's what you are looking for. The left and right side are not connected, they are fully independent.

Cool going in the volcanic tubes! If you want to see some more volcanic tubes and terrain, check out Crater of the moon national monument in southern Idaho (since you are heading that way). If you head over to Utah there some cool trails for visual photographic spots in Capital Reef National Park and the moonscape area around Hanksville. With that Starlink you can look them up to see what I am talking about . Oh, and post the recipe for the cheesteaks will ya! Thanks for a great video.

I am a fan off your videos , I do have a question , what suspension do you have for your jeep and how do you find the sag when towing the Offgrid trailer ? I have had the Offgrid pando 2.0 for 4 years now and tow with a Jeep wrangler Sahara Jl with a mopar lift. The pando is heavier than the expedition. I love the pando. I am in the Comox valley (Cumberland )

the trailer is made for 65mph max, not the 70 and 80 from the last video, ?wonder why the screw came out? you have a expensive small off road trailer , i could build a better one then that for a 1/2 the cost, and have ? You do understand there are cops and federal people watching your video;s ? one day you'll find out, NEVER POST HOW FAST YOU ARE ON THE ROAD PULLING A TRAILER, THE COPS ARE TAKING NOTES???????????? WORD OF MOUTH RUNS FASTER THEN YOU DO???
